🧑‍🎨 Today marks the first day of the Paris Women’s Fashion Week ( • UPCT - Fashion: La Hau... ). A great opportunity to talk a bit about the famous Basque beret, that hat worn by every stereotyped French person. How did a woolen hat made by and for Béarn shepherds in the Pyrenees become Basque? Then a French symbol? And how did it eventually evolve as far as Argentina and the Far East? The answer is simple: amazing versatility. Plein d inexactitudes !
Le béret est bien béarnais mais sa couleur était seulement bleu marine avant la guerre 14
Noir ensuite en souvenir du deuil . Mais ce sont les marins basques qui l'on exporté en Amérique du Nord et sud L'origine exacte personne n'en sait rien de sûr ! Je crois... Peut-être origine écossaise ( la Guyenne était occupée par les anglais .... )
Peut-être Romaine ...
