I agree with finding that mindblowing, whenever at a place like that I wish I had a time machine and could stand in the same spot and see what it was back then. So cool that was the birthplace of the gods! Seems like you could spend a few days there!
We are always looking for great travel channels and found yours tonight. We would love to go to Greece one day. It seems amazing. But this particular island of ruins would be amazing to explore. That is amazing that the mosaic in the house of Dionysus is in such good condition as old as it is. We love the history that they have been able to unearth here. I even love the cats. Greece really is amazing and the history blows me away! I love the idea you are walking in their footsteps, literally! The cats made me laugh, you could see them coming towards the boat dock when we got there like they were welcoming us to the island! Thanks so much for the kind words, we appreciate it.

Yes, the caretakers lay out food and water throughout the site and the cats are loved and well cared for, as are any cats in places like this in Greece. There is always someone putting food out. They are friendly too.

Visited D in the1980s. Wandered away from the guided tour to the Temple of Isis, what a view, maybe the most beautiful place I have ever been.
