Why did Putin resign the government?

  • In January 2020, President Putin delivered his address to the federal assembly - after which, the entire government resigned. Of course they didn't really resign - they were resigned, lol. The reshuffle is still in motion and I personally feel it's too early to give any significant analysis. It is clear of course that the reshuffle was necessary in anticipation of the 2024 election.
It is difficult for a Western audience to find a conservative point of view on what it taking place, so I thought this outtake from Tsargrad TV would be a nice counterbalance to the mostly liberal media that provides their analysis. K. Malofeev has been sanctioned by the US and EU for the past few years - something he says only makes other oligarchs in the same predicament, reinvest their money in Russia, as opposed to options in the West.

I've never seen a Western leader tackle the demographic issues straight forward without simply saying "let's just bring in more foreign immigrants" (looking at you Western Europe, USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand) like Putin. It's not only refreshing, but so long overdue. Birth Control is something that's just being practiced in the White Western countries. But in places like the whole of Africa, much of Asia (save for China, Japan & Korea) and Latin America, people find it easy to have large families. In fact, China's massive population was the result of Chairman Mao's regime urging (or forcing) families to have many children. Something Soviet leaders in the 50's, 60's & 70's (Khrushchev & Brezhnev) should've seen coming. In fact, Soviet Russia experienced really high birth rates for the last time under Stalin's last 7 years (1946-53), before dropping steadily once Khrushchev took over. It remains to be seen if the next Russian leader after Putin will continue addressing the demographic issue, urge people to have more children, and not just resort to bringing in foreign immigrants.

Regarding your postwar statement, you know there was a simple baby boom during that time? This was the case for every country in war.
It is not to blame the leader for, not if you don't take into account what the real consequences were of that regime change.
And about the immigrants, I actually hope they do, in order that we (EU) don't have to take everyone into account. There is a huge problem regarding the current system.

Or was it simply an executive order and that they had no choice? There didn't seem to be much contention. Was there much discord in the previous chamber leading up to this?

Surpopulation is a real danger and competing for ressources will bring wars. His demographic policy will not make things better for the planet. Ultimately Russian people will suffer from this policy.
