Desert X - not that i would have either but if i wanted one, it would be the standard. I ride a 500 EXC for my kicks off road and these things couldn't get close anywhere other than a fast gravel road which is booooooring - the rally front end is beyond ugly, that mudguard is terrible and not very Ducati. I wonder why they have not gone with plastic tanks on the so called rally version - would remove a lot of weight.....Rally, lol. Great video as always Smokey - funny
I think the regular Desert X is probably fine for the average adventure rider. But if you're the type who usually puts new suspension on bikes, then the DxR is definitely worth it. The cost of the suspension and wheels alone covers the price gap easily.
I feel like Uncle Smokey did a bump of nose candy before each video - love the energy and excitement and joy that comes through every video - you can really tell he's having the time of his life and living his best life
Worth the extra 5k? Those KYB sealed cartridge low friction/wear coated forks, rear shock assembly, and wheels are worth over 5k. For someone who wants more off-road capabilities, the answer is yes. My '23 DDX has over 12k miles on it in 11 months. Stellar bike.
i debated it but i have an enduro for offroading so i went with the base model with an akra and some other goodies all of which i would have had to have added to the Rally heated grips, skid plate, engine guards etc so it was essentially $23kOTD with the Rally it would be $28k OTD with all the accessories included and for me, it just wasn't worth that extra however that doesn't mean i wouldn't buy one in the future i'm going to stick with what i have and upgrade when they produce an RS model.
I’m actually picking up one of these today, so this review is super interesting. Not as interesting, however, as those “green” parking spaces at the Mickey D’s. Wild!
I have a standard DX and added the Tractive suspension......not sure after that that there is a benefit to the Rally....great bike I am sure but it seems they could have made it a bit more extreme for off-road. I have not ridden one so I may be totally wrong....they look sweet though!
This bike is for Norwegians, Swedes, Finns, Danes. There are many 2-meter-tall aliens there. This bike is for Norwegians, Swedes, Finns, Danes. There are many 2-meter-tall aliens there.
Desert X or Desert X rally? That is the question....🤔
Ktm 890 adv 😆

Desert X!
DesertX with the Termignoni de-cat race exhaust and EVO tune.
Both are great. Rally for much Offroad. I ❤ that Bike

Absolutely worth the extra $$$ I never seen coated Kyb A KIT SUSPENSION
If I don't have dirt bike I would go definitely with this one as all arounder toy, nice nice....
Vet toffe motor, go go go Smokey-man ..greatings from the Good mojo Wheeler .

I’m considering ditching the 1250gs for one of these. Actually hated the look of them but it’s growing on me.
Why was that brown stuff on the seat, while turning the bike? Smokey got scared? 😜
😂😂😂😂
Good to see the McDonald’s test, and hopefully it didn’t break the Smokey bank! Great video
Would love to see you test ride the Ducati 698 Hypermotard.
Video coming online soon! I deleted my B roll footage by accident haha so video is a bit weird 😂
Love it but!
Have they sorted out the air box problem???
❤❤❤🙏🙏👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧
When Goldwing? Just do it! 😂
What is your height? Is 910mm of seat height good for 5'8 person?
I'm 176cm and 910 is very high for my height 😅
Pls review the tenere world raid
Yamaha not calling me back or sending me any mails. We talked last year and wanted to meet me....but it got silent after that 😁
Thats a shame such a cool bike
Edit:
Could you maybe do a video in nederlands/vlaams??
Can you put the extra fuel tank on the back like the X??🙏🙏👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧
It's a nice bike but I wouldn't use it for touring, if you're doing just offroad on it then a smaller bike like a 400 would be better and lighter
How did you find the STR tyres, I’m thinking of changing them on to the SAR
My favourites are the Karoo 4 right now on my SAR 😁
@@LifeofSmokey a bit too off roady for me.
Just want to know how the STRs felt in the trails you did
How does it compare to the much cheaper KTM 890R ?
KTM and Offroad goes together like eggs and bacon is all I need to say 😁
@@LifeofSmokeyYo uncle Smokey, but what about the reliability? I need a bike to do multiple day BDR trips here in the states.
Wat is de locatie van het offroad rijden?
Guess this guy has never heard of riding in a motorcycle !!! 😮😮😮
Only two complaints. One price. Two exposed waterpump even if it's protected by crash bar.
Strange review,like listening to a cartoon 😅
answer on the question if its worth another €5000 is YES... its a Ducati.. regardless of price.. its always worth it. haha
Mc Donalds Beirs city 🍔
8:50 probably preparing to install more of those useless disgusting windmills
Yep 🥺
When is the ktm 890 adventure r review coming?
Hi 🎉bro
Nope , just a glamour dirt bike
& it’s got all those extra Ducati problems
Ducati's are really reliable with a great warranty been racing them for 20 years now, however there is a ducati tax
