im really sad with the fact that u didn’t enjoyed Titane, i mean, that’s my favorite movie (im fucked in the head) but some friends of mine really hate it bc they can’t stand the body horror or the disgust and stress being presented on the screen. I know, it’s hard, but i really think that’s one of the most wholesome movies i’ve ever saw, like, she went through and did a lot of bad shit, but in the end the relationship with her “pseudo father” (and maybe real father once the biological one used to abuse her and being a bad parent) it’s really something sweet to watch. She needed love from a father, he needed love from a son, and dont get me wrong, a derranged kind of love, but it’s interesting to explore the different types of paternal and conjugal love, plus how far u willing to go to believe and portray ur lie and live around it rejecting the reality of things. And finally the finale, DISTURBINGLY beautiful, the score, oh the score, the angels singing and the triumphant horns, followed by the mechanical baby, DAMN, and the symbolism of the cycle of life (he loses a son, but after that nightmare inducing thread of events, he gains another, like if they were predestined to enter each other’s life no matter what). I really look at it as a lovely beautiful sad story but for crazy people that should be in a asylum hahahaha. Hope that helps to make u see the other way around the “body horror” (i was disgusted by the end of the movie but then tears rolled down my face and i realized how Titane is a masterpiece)
I do love a lot of weird and messed up movies, that one just didn't personally click for me. I'll have to go back to it sometime now that I know what to expect and see if it grows on me.
