Ha Dave isn’t ruined. It’s weird when “fans” get so involved and invested in the personal lives of their fave artists, but there are many, many who only care about the music, and I don’t think this is gonna be much more than a bump in the road. Seriously. Dave isn’t the first to fall to temptation of “strange,” haha. I do feel sorry for his kids and also the new baby, who had no say in who her parents are. And face it, Dave is just a very charismatic and beloved figure in rock. He’s a rock star and us mere mortals can never truly imagine how much stuff (droogs, shmex) is just thrown at him. Plus he’s taking responsibility which is very respectable, considering how many others would deny or flat out refuse to be involved in their affair baby’s life.
Cheating is pretty common. If you think someone's life is ruined because of it, you really haven't lived at all. Go out and make some mistakes; it might teach you something.
when i was about 11 years old, 2011 in Adelaide South Australia watching Foo Fighters perform live, I was the only person sitting on someone's shoulders in the whole crowd and Dave was standing on the 'catwalk' extension island thing that goes through the middle of the crowd... he noticed me and said into the mic "out of this whole sea of people, you're the only motherfucker on somebodys shoulders right now kid" then pointed at me and gave me the devil horns!....... it made me feel like the coolest kid on earth that night. ill hold that memory dear to my heart for the rest of my life, Thanks for being a cool guy Dave.
I was also at that concert, it was boring as hell. Tenacious D was the support act and they were way better, and that says something. Was cool that you got your moment in the sun, though.
Because people still cared about them after Taylor died, finding out that the face of the whole band who everyone knew as the “nice guy of rock” was actually an adulterer is obviously going to do a number on your reputation
I agree with your point, I think, but to be fair they did take a long break after Taylor's passing and as far as we know they're just taking a break right now. And I get it, he doesn't want to lose his family over it and he's putting all his effort into saving his marriage, saving the relationship with his kids, I can't really fault him for putting his family before going on tour.
You know, that thought crossed my mind exactly today 😅. But you can't blame Grohl on that one. I mean, we all remember when Goldsmith "was departed" from the band, and the ironically Pat left. It seemed as if there was something wrong with Grohl, as the Foo project was his idea after all. But i don't think that this time was like that. I feel the "Taylor hiatus" was kind of short, considering how important he was. But it's true that maybe, this time, everyone didn't want to just stop because of something that -like it or not- can happen to everybody, regardless of your name. So i think everybody at one point, just came to the agreement that you got to move on, and decided to find a new one. I think it would be somewhat unfair to put the whole responsibility of the idea, on the shoulders of Dave. Even so, i can't shake the feeling that "something" sabotaged Grohl, the secret collapsed; and that was Hawkins, saying "Man, you could have taken a year away from tours, like you did with Kurt 🫵👊😅". Who knows, it's funny, but the irony is strong lol

Good! After they got political, and seeing how they acted during covid, I lost all respect for Dave Grohl. All these virtue signaling Hollywood rockers are actually morally corrupt.
What a shame. One of, if not the biggest rock band over the last 30 years has come to a halt because of this. And what about all the people who work for the FOOs?
Having a new kid means there is a need for a lot of care constantly for at least a few years. In addition to fighting for his family I can see why he won't be touring for a bit. Maybe spend the hiatus working on a new album could be best.
I'm a huge F.F. fan, and Dave did a shitty thing to his family, but I understand walking away for a while. It just sucks because I was hoping to see them live soon.
As a married man of 15 years I don’t respect that at all. if you don’t love her anymore be a man and leave. I’m sure his kids lost respect for him as well. Seems money gives you everything except morals and respect for your family.
Wasn’t Dave and Pat Smear recently on Chris Shiflet’s RUclips podcast talking about the band? I think it was last month. I was hoping we’d see the FF play a few shows soon after that podcast went up. Glad his trying to deal with his family situation first, but I don’t see why the Foos can’t play a few shows here and there - especially when a lot of time has passed since the baby was apparently born, and Dave was out in public part of that time anyway.
Man, if this were the 80's no one would bat an eye, and the band would just continue like nothing happened. How did all these fans become such prudes? The guy is a rock star, this is what rock stars have done since the beginning. His wife can be pissed, but even she must know it comes with the territory. They want the money, but also demand the guy be faithful? It's pretty naive.
Right? Even outside of the "rockstar" community having an affair is common for both men and women and has been since the dawn of humanity. So many children are born out of wedlock that there's a name for them. I really don't understand the controversy here but then I'm not a FF fan. Am I missing something? Has Dave gone on record saying how shameful cheating on your significant other is and it's blown up now because of his hypocrisy? Guy admitted that he strayed outside his marriage and that he fathered a child as a result. Shouldn't that be as far as it goes publicly? The rest is between him, his wife, his family, his mistress and newborn, and his band and all the employees of the FF machine. I just really don't care.
@@bellowl I'm not a FF fan either, never understood the huge draw, but the dude still is a mega musician playing harder rock & roll. If this was Vince Neil in 1985, or Steven Tyler in 1978, it wouldn't even register. People would just assume this was happening with multiple women on the road. But the fan/internet outrage is so bizarre, to me. Fans yelling, but he was supposed to be a nice guy! He may still be, but he's a musician in a mega band, doing what they all have done, forever.
@@julianschulz1620 Exactly! The reaction seems over the top to me. When I was at high school there was a girl who would proudly tell that her mother had slept with John Lennon when she was young. I've seen a doco about The Beatles tour to New Zealand and it said they basically had young women coming in one door of the hotel room and out another - just a constant stream the whole time they were in their hotel. Perhaps it is just that Grohl has crafted an image of being that nice guy who is above the rock n roll stuff...
@@bellowl Absolutely, it's just the fan reaction that confuses me, to the point where some are saying, he might never recover from this. It's just strange to see the culture drift so dramatically from the classic days of Rock. This story wouldn't even merit a blurb in Circus, Hit Parader or even Metal Edge. Grohl should tell the critics to mind their own business, its between him & his wife, and then say: WE ARE GEARING UP TO GET BACK ON THE ROAD, GET READY! But the Rock Feed guy says, he's doing the right thing. I dunno, if i'm Dave, i ignore it and keep selling my tickets and touring.
Foo Fighters were never really a band I enjoyed, prob cuz I loved Nirvana and just felt weird watching Dave front a band after watching Nirvana play and remembering Kurt's natural charisma. my question about HellFest is whose idea was it to book FIR and MIW on the same day and from the poster maybe playing almost back to back!?!?!? Wonder what kind of fireworks might go off if Ronnie and Chris run into each other. Pretty sure Chris won't like that FIR is billed higher then his band. guess only time will tell!
What a shame... my mother is a big Foo Fighters fan, and she would've wanted to see this concert in its entirity. It's a shame they'll no longer be playing live.
It's been a weird couple of years. First they release a horror/comedy movie (Studio 666), then a month later Taylor Hawkins died, then a couple years later this thing with Dave's Baby Momma comes out. Don't have any of their albums but I like some of their songs and their movie
@ but still, though, there are many men who would completely deny having a child out of wedlock. THAT was my point…I don’t care how long it took Dave to admit it, the fact is that he did. And, honestly, he really seems to be one of the few men who DO want to be there for his children. (I know, having not grown up with my dad around. To you, that might not make sense, but it does to me.)
Yeah no, the public didn't need to know about any of his dirty laundry. TMI. He needed to keep that private and people love to praise celebrities for doing the ultimate bare minimum. He shouldn't have cheated on his wife and had an ENTIRE BABY outside of the marriage anyways. I was actually very shocked that at his age he naturally accidentally got someone pregnant.
What scared me when I heard abt the hiatus was that when Dave cheated on his first wife, Pat Smear was mad at Dave over it, and he departed the band in 1997. And I am slightly scared that there might be tension in the band due to the scandal
I never got too into Foo Fighters that much but the scandalous extramarital affair happening back in September helped me not get into them, That and I am not very into rock nearly as much as I did back then because some rock bands from the 2000's era with that signature dunununununNUNUNUNUNnununununDUNUNUNUNnunununun sound that tends to sound the same all the time (depending on the rock band) This is why I am into metal especially with their sub-genres because metal is really the only genre of music that can get away with including Jazz, Classical, Techno, Dubstep, Folk, Etc. But I do like some Good classic rock bands like Europe, Journey, 4 Non Blondes, Foreigner, Mötley Crüe, Vixen Etc. (must appreciate the classics) And some modern rock bands like Onlap, Eva Under Fire, Halestorm Seether, AWOLNATION, Icon For Hire, Skillet, Muse, Etc. Sorry for the random rant lol.
The Foo Fighters music is very diverse. I notice that with them, you have to look for the deep cuts. Like the X Files soundtrack version of Walking After You or A320. Their singles are more standard.

Big win for the fans with Muse!!!
Good move imo. People are getting sick of them - I know I am.
you have no soul, they are a great band and will never get old
And I'm sick of you
@ 😂
I'm a radio dude still. FM
I turn it everytime he comes on.
Even if it's NerVaNa.
What a shame. One of, if not the biggest rock band over the last 30 years has come to a halt because of this. And what about all the people who work for the FOOs?
😂
Ba bye!
Having a new kid means there is a need for a lot of care constantly for at least a few years. In addition to fighting for his family I can see why he won't be touring for a bit. Maybe spend the hiatus working on a new album could be best.
Foo Fighters play the same set every night on a tour. They are not Pearl Jam
Pooh Jam!!!!!!!!!
Grohl’s swapping rock anthems for family therapy sessions. Give it a few years to settle down. They will be back.
I'm a huge F.F. fan, and Dave did a shitty thing to his family, but I understand walking away for a while. It just sucks because I was hoping to see them live soon.
Can we please get more Dream widow though? That shit really kicked ass!😈🤘
Just as g-n-r would never ever reunite. When you lose your fortune do to divorce. You will start touring again
I feel bad for the crew and other members of the band. They had nothing to do with Dave's indiscretions.
As a married man of 15 years I don’t respect that at all. if you don’t love her anymore be a man and leave. I’m sure his kids lost respect for him as well. Seems money gives you everything except morals and respect for your family.
Looks like his storytelling book came out just a couple years too soon 😂😂😂😂😂
Whaaa David needs to take care of that new kid he got!!
Maybe he got involved with something and he’s scared. Think about it!
No doubt he has a white suit in his closet.
My cousins husband drove one of the tour busses for the Foo Fighters in the recent years. I'll always be a fan of FF.
This sucks man Dave is such a good dude not cool to cheat on your wife I believe he's got to much on him from the past Kurt and now Taylor
Love me some Foo’s. I consider them the last straight up garage band still producing good rock.
Shit happens. People shouldnt be judging so freely. You never know what is waiting for you around the corner.
They just got Josh for drums!!!! He’s ready. Dave needs to pull it together.
Imagine coming back from the death of your drummer only to throw that and what was likely a happy family away for some side action.
So glad I got to see them before the controversy this year
I am less mad about daves infidelity. What drove me wild was the foo fighters view on Aids.
Good chance that video was recorded before the news came out about Dave Grohl. That's my guess.
@@Lifetime3211 yeah it was. it was recorded in March or around that time
Man, if this were the 80's no one would bat an eye, and the band would just continue like nothing
happened.
@@bellowl I'm not a FF fan either, never understood the huge draw, but the dude still is a mega
musician playing harder rock & roll.
@@bellowl Absolutely, it's just the fan reaction that confuses me, to the point where some
are saying, he might never recover from this.
It's just strange to see the culture drift so dramatically from the classic days of Rock.
This story wouldn't even merit a blurb in Circus, Hit Parader or even Metal Edge.
Grohl should tell the critics to mind their own business, its between him & his wife,
and then say: WE ARE GEARING UP TO GET BACK ON THE ROAD, GET READY!
But the Rock Feed guy says, he's doing the right thing.
I dunno, if i'm Dave, i ignore it and keep selling my tickets and touring.
And don’t come back anytime soon.
I got to see them on their first tour in 95 at a small venue.
A rock star behaving like a rock star, Shocker . Still love the band , I’m not part of his personal life . They are AMAZING live
Foo fighters need to release their unreleased recordings and there is a song called fuck around.
What a shame... my mother is a big Foo Fighters fan, and she would've wanted to see this concert in its entirity. It's a shame they'll no longer be playing live.
I got a confession to make!
It's been a weird couple of years. First they release a horror/comedy movie (Studio 666), then a month later Taylor Hawkins died, then a couple years later this thing with Dave's Baby Momma comes out. Don't have any of their albums but I like some of their songs and their movie
From the guy that told me I couldn't attend his show if I wasn't vaccinated. Remember folks - stand your ground...😮💨
Yep that's when that lowlife completely lost me. He forced it on his band and crew as well. It's quite possibly what unalived his drummer.
never listened to a full FF album in my life, i aint gonna miss them
Most importantly, The Warning is playing there too. 🤘
He said to the new family "I'll stick around"
Imagine all this from the perspective of the daughter when she’s old enough to understand how she came to be and the impact it had. 😮
At least, Dave manned up about his issues. Not many men would.
After the kid was born, let's not act like he "got ahead of it", he still took his time with it (well after their album released, go figure..)
@@Questionmark87-r4k eh. whatevs.
@@Questionmark87-r4k An "ENTIRE BABY" - as opposed to???
So, no 30th anniversary tour then.
What scared me when I heard abt the hiatus was that when Dave cheated on his first wife, Pat Smear was mad at Dave over it, and he departed the band in 1997. And I am slightly scared that there might be tension in the band due to the scandal
I think they should do the odd show here and there and not huge tours away from home for months. Keep the fans and family happy at the same time
I never got too into Foo Fighters that much but the scandalous extramarital affair happening back in September helped me not get into them, That and I am not very into rock nearly as much as I did back then because some rock bands from the 2000's era with that signature dunununununNUNUNUNUNnununununDUNUNUNUNnunununun sound that tends to sound the same all the time (depending on the rock band)
This is why I am into metal especially with their sub-genres because metal is really the only genre of music that can get away with including Jazz, Classical, Techno, Dubstep, Folk, Etc.
But I do like some Good classic rock bands like Europe, Journey, 4 Non Blondes, Foreigner, Mötley Crüe, Vixen Etc. (must appreciate the classics)
And some modern rock bands like Onlap, Eva Under Fire, Halestorm Seether, AWOLNATION, Icon For Hire, Skillet, Muse, Etc.
Sorry for the random rant lol.
The Foo Fighters music is very diverse. I notice that with them, you have to look for the deep cuts. Like the X Files soundtrack version of Walking After You or A320. Their singles are more standard.
It’s about time, game over!
Still love the Foo Fighters, hope they come back again❤
Dave’s got that studio with the neive board. All he has to do is record and produce other people’s work. Home by nine and cash a lot of checks. Make some movies write a book start a barbecue show. Everybody hating on a guy who’s made so much money from hardworking he’s earned his money and he doesn’t owe fans or the band anything.
