2024 ROYAL ENFIELD 450cc Himalayan TEST
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 28 апр 2024
- We flew to Sardinia to test ride the new Royal Enfield Himalayan 450cc and got the chance to really push it to the limit on offroad roads including a section from the WRC where we also did some nice jumps. I believe the new Himalayan 450 can be really a great bike to have fun and for people that want to approach offroad at an incredible price where the Quality-Price ratio is really at its best.

I'd rather have a 600lb, $25,000+ bike with 160hp, a 39-inch seat height, and every wizbang techno nanny feature known to man. Nope... got rid of one and waiting for my new Himmy. Spending the extra $18,000 on nice hotel rooms close to off-road places here in the American west.
I currently ride a lightweight 200cc bike called the XPulse in India. It is atrocious on the highways but I ship it close to the Himalayas and in the mountains it's more than enough. Lightweight so in difficult conditions can get out easy. Of course I want a bit more power. Waiting for the Him to come with the tubeless spoke rims and when they're made available will be picking one up which will do almost everything I want. Few friends of mine have big bikes and they always just go on highways cos they ant handle the big bikes on bad roads and the fear of dropping and breaking something and parts costing a ton.
The new Him 450, CF Moto 452, upcoming Kove 800 (supposed 190kgs or less kerb weight) are all great options.
Thats a great way to frame it. I'm getting a used low Km T7 this year, doing some off road mods for a couple grand, and will still have less than 10K in the bike. My buddy just paid 32K for his loaded R1300GS. Even if I bought a new base T7 (buy base model T7 and modify is Manuel's recommendation) and added the mods, I would have 20K to spare for training, hotels, fuel, events etc. for several years. I will never drop that kind of money on a bike.
This is why RE is successful
Never heard the phrase 'techno nanny feature'. 😂
Sales-people hate this guy. Enjoy your Himalayan :)
A go anywhere, no nonsense, simple, retro looking motorcycle.... Considering the huge, edgy, alien looking, digitally overloaded ADVs coming out... This is a welcome change. Would love to see Manuel do a rally build of this one !
Surely would be an interesting project to turn it into a ready to rally bike and go race with it an amateur rally!
@@ManuelLucchese1 Do a weight reduction build! That'll be really fun!
Not a big fan of the 5k Service intervall. Wanted to get one but that service intervall is kind of a dealbreaker for us.
@@ScramTours 5k is just a check service which I'm sure many would be able to do. Comprehensive check and fluids n filter changes are at 10k.
@@augm3nt384 At least in Europe it has to be done by a Certified Royal Enfield Dealer so you dont void the waranty.
One Service is around 200-250 Euros in most parts of Europe and some annoying Waitlists in the RIding Season.
Not really a problem if you dont ride a lot. If you do the costs rack up quite fast compared to the competition:
KTM 390 ADV - 7.5k
Honda NX500 - 12k
Triumph Scrambler - 16k
Simply leaves a bad taste in my mouth if something needs more Service than a KTM.
I hope the Service Intervall goes up to 10k as soon as they have enough data on the new engine!
Looks like an awesome bike.
Royal Enfield is becoming the Samsung of biking world 🏍️
That bike could be a game changer in terms of bringing new people onto bikes.
One of the best reviews off the Himalayan! Hope to see you upgrading (at your level) one off this some day!
Thanks a lot!! Really happy you enjoyed the review, as there are tons of reviews out there I always want to try find something that has not been mentioned by others. Would be surely a cool project to make a build out of it and test it in a rally race
That was a banger intro, followed by a great review, in perspective. Kind regards to you and yours.
I was never a fan of RE but the Himalayan is a really great motorcycle. Only the original CEAT tires are bad and unfortunately only the top model has tubeless tires. I also like the old-fashioned design and the simplicity of the motorcycle. Here in Austria the motorcycle is sold out everywhere
fuck Ceat ! Use Rally STR from Pirelli. It's fucking worth it for Adv Models1
❤
Holyy Molly shit that WRC jump was Epic ❤
Thanks Bro!!! We don't have it in Brazil yet, but we will soon.
Tem que chegar logo no Brasil!! Acorda Royal Enfield 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷👍👍👍
Great intro. Thanks for the video
Great job again, Manuel. Your reviews are sublime. The Himalayan is such a sympathetic bike. Great value and definitely unique. Agree with everything you said.
Thanks!!! Happy you enjoyed the review, we had a great time with it and it’s one of those bike that doesn’t make big hyped promises and delivers what it says it will do
@@ManuelLucchese1 exactly
lots of progress, hard work , goo shooting, ... Wish you the best !
Great review! This bike has transformed quite a bit.
Great bike. But mostly, I commend you for your narration. Thank you so much for your authenticity, and not resorting to a damn computer-generated voice narration. 10 points to you, Sir!
Very very very good professional review
Each and every thing explained very clearly.
Thank you so much
🙏💯
Great review! Greetings from Brazil, waiting for this motorcycle launch, probably at the end of 2024.
It looks like a war bike. Very nice and agressive

It's funny you say that...
I'm a driving instructor, and I have a 411 version, and one of my students, after see it for the first time, said:
"_ Look, the Indiana Jones's bike!"
Apt review. Point to point. I own this since December, clicked 3k best bike in this class in budget. The only issue is heat in stop and go traffic in this summer at 43°Celsius heat weather
Saludos desde Argentina 🇦🇷, excelente vídeo. Abrazo grande a la familia
Excellent review, as usual.
Thanks a lot!!!! Really
Happy you liked it!
I think this is an excellent bike for off road touring. The simplicity and sturdiness would stand up to off road use and the power is sufficient to go anywhere, ref Itchyboots in Nepal. Also, I can not think of a better suited bike for beginning riders. The manageable seat height and power makes it non threatening and the price is unbeatable. This is a bike for thinking riders!
Itchy boots was actually in India and not Nepal. Both countries share the Himalayas.
Dear brother can you please tell me which side of the suspension got bottom out the front or the rear
Good work !! it really shows that the limit is the pilot and not the bike 👍
Awesome riding bro.
Great review🏍️🎉
Awesome review.
@ Manuel Lucchese is The rally seAt really 86 cm?And Can You mantain The luggage rack with rally bodywork?
What about cf moto 450mt? Have you planned to test it? Thanks for your review
I saw 2 dozens of Himalayan reviews and this one was one of the best! Thanks a lot!
Those Panniers 😍
Good review. I get what You mean about phone screen staying on. But the older version app with the phone in your pocket the screen would cut off and so would the tripper. The new version the screen is locked if you wish. Just need to mount on the handlebar and plug it in. I found at 4000 revs it picks up quite well. On the road it handles excellently. My older 411 could drift out on left handers!
If I ever fix my knees and return to ADV riding, this will be the bike. It’s cheap. And it’s not the end of the world if you crash it. The bonus is that’s it one of the few bikes which are entirely designed from the ground up to do the job. Other bikes will modify an existing chassis, or grab a road engine and tweak it etc.
This bike will be a hit! It makes the new 400cc Triumphs look silly
Great Intro. After that I really thought they'd introduce a dynamic bike.
Lovely bike, can't wait to ride it here in the states. Do not when would it come here...
From Mexico ❤❤❤❤ I love Royal Enfiel Himalayan 450 new motor Sherpa!!!!
How is it looking with the rally package? Because all the information so far is that for example the arrow exhaust there is no information except a few videos on RUclips and Arrow themselves are silent. I was surprised to see it on plates moreover on european plates.
I believe the Rally package is a must gives such a much cooler look to the bike and nicer sound. Furthermore for offroad riding the rally seat improves the handling. I think the rally accessories should be release in May or June
@abhinavbhatt is doing a great job with this bike. Reduced atleast 20-25 kg weight, new rubbers, rear sprocket etc.
Can you please tell me witch modifications he made to the bike?
@@manueldiaspereira8347 go to his RUclips channel.
hi man, u r not leaving even himalyan. pls develop a rally tower and i will buy it please
What's up with the tubeless models? My local seller said that it won't arrive until earliest July.
Which country?
Are the wheels not tubeless?
the custom exhaust note please..
My favorite ❤❤❤
Waiting for RE Gurilla 450 review from you which is under production and testing RN. pics were leaked during a TVC shoot.
i feel like im getting this bike looks like a fun and capable bike whitout trying to be "the fastest" or "the lightest", and has a decent price
Also great for Ghurka Doctors an medical staff in the Hymalias.🙏🙏👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧
@Manuel Lucchese please compare it to CFMOTO 450MT if you have the opportunity! this is my doubt... this or CFMOTO ? ... also KOVE 800x might be in the taking as well
I really want to try them both as I’m super curious, I am interested in testing the good and the bad to understand where each model really excels. I will try see if I manage to get the local distributor to let me test one
@@ManuelLucchese1 that would be amazing. I had already discarded Himalayan but your review brought it back to my choices... Also interested in kove 800x which is lighter than Himalayan even
I am from India and had booked this in Dec 23 and since then have delayed taking delivery twice cos there is no news about the tubeless spoke rims. I am cancelling my booking for now and will book it again when those rims are made available.
Those tires need to be certified by the government, and you know how fast our government is.
@@Bhargav443 what tyres? It's the rims not tyres. And the bike has been in development for atleast 3-4 years. You think the government will take so much time? And how are BMW, Triumph, Ducati selling their ADVs with tubeless rims at the same time? 🤷🏽♂️
@@Whatreally123the tubeless rim with spokes is harder to certify cause it is patented.
@@buzzlightyear1484 nope. Certification has absolutely nothing to do with patents. Patents are only for production so that no other company can produce their patented product. Certification is to check whether the rims can work satisfactorily or not as per that country's regulations. Your confusing the two.
And all the big brands are selling their ADVs with similar tubeless rims. So obviously they've got them certified.
As I've said in an earlier comment, RE would've been working on developing this bike for at least 3-4 years. Why the tubeless rims weren't certified all this while is the question, if it is a question of certification. I'm sure patent shouldn't be a problem. RE pays the company having the patent and they let RE use their design.
I am waiting for the same reason but no idea when it will come.. no news ....I think if it's arriving price of the bike will increase huge for sure...and they won't give only rim they will sale full tyre...
Brasil, chega quando?
👍👍👍
Saw the issue of breaking welds on short video.toring the bike to two pieces.hope not gonna happen and see a long ride reviews
👍👍👍👍
отличный обзор!👌👍🙂
Tubless ?
Available in all countries except in india.
My dear sir...
The voice modulation needs to be more mellow and we would like to see more of the bike performance ...Regards
In my opinion it looks a lot like old 650's hope that japanes manufacturers get a wake-up call and bring back their 650 unicorns.
Unadjustable suspension on an adventure bike? 😅
Tubeless?
Yep
Is it completed with tubeless tires?
Tubeless tire only available for top end model
Have you seen Xpulse design
9:00 movimiento innecesario del cuerpo?
No entiendo
I m going to sell my 1200 gs with not even 10k miles, and get me a himi!
So, who’s goin round the world on one of these???🙏🙏👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧
Way to heavy, nearly 196kg wet! the thing weighs 8kg more with no fluids than my dr650 does with a full 25 liters of fuel!
Ride it like you stole it! I test rode one and even the dealer said l want you to rag it!
Tubeless 😮
Worst review of Himalayan I’ve seen. “It’s not a full adventure bike”. What a dumb statement is that? Because it isn’t 1L or above? Hundreds of people crossed continents on it’s predecessor probably few time’s more than on those fancy BMW or KTM people buy to go around on European highways. And you try to review adventure bike and in the opening you try to show it as a race bike. That’s the approach which many people is fighting for years now and still wi he such reviewers. Disgusting.
Whatever you say man, thanks for your comment
So where is the TEST????
We pushed the bike hard and tested it properly as you saw in the video
@@ManuelLucchese1 Must be a different video then...
@@adolfgerhardhermann5952 or you must be watching maybe another channel
lotos of issues in this model ..
Heavy elephant, poor finish, not reliable
Manny - come on. Looks like a complete POS. You can’t push this bike!
I think you have to give it context, as I mentioned in the video for 5.900 euro what can you really buy that offers a good reliability and can have fun on it? It’s not clearly a race bike nor a bike ready to do a desert rally but putting all into context it’s a great option for who wants to start adventure riding without breaking the bank
@@ManuelLucchese1 Im a Manny fan, but this bike doesn’t belong on your channel
@@positivecarry07 one of the next videos coming will be a simple 690 build and then a cool T7 build :p
@@ManuelLucchese1 I just received my 24 Gas Gas 700 from Kaplan. Iván Ramírez from Red Bull is building the bike for rally as we speak. We went with a Nomad tower due to cost.
I’m excited to see your next 690 build.
...and the bike snobs crawl out from under their KTMs...in the dealer shops.
When you buy this just get a better pair of off road 🛞. The stock tire are shit
What about cf moto 450mt? Have you planned to test it? Thanks for your review
