I'll never understand the hate this movie gets. It's cram-packed full of heart.

Because as a finale it was lame.
But as an installment setting up Rocky Balboa, it fares better.

It was coming after Rocky 4 which was such an adrenaline rush at the time. And it was the only Rocky movie made in the 90's. It used hip hop music.. There was no prize fight but a street fight instead and Rocky was still broke in the end. It has aged better as an installment. But at the time it was billed as the end of Rocky's story

@@williamdean4775I think you hit the nail on the coffin. One of the main reasons I didn’t like it when it came out was because of the “hip-hop” soundtrack. I was REALLY into hip-hop at the time but you didn’t have “real” hiphop music appearing in mainstream movies. They would have some old white composer make some bullshit beat and have some corny unknown rapper do the raps. Like in this Rocky sequel. But as I got older I learned to love it and accept the corny soundtrack

For me it was the how long the street fight went on, totally unrealistic, humanly impossible for anybody to take that much.
Apart from that it was pretty good.

After Rocky 6, then the Creed Movies begin. RIP Uncle Paulie we will miss you. The kid who played Rocky's son in this one was actually Stallones son in real life. Passed away a few years back. His mom was actually the fan in Rocky 3 who asked Rocky for a kiss during his "Showboat Training."

A very exiting figher to watch, great offense / no defense. His fight with Razor Ruddock was epic. His fight with Merciless Ray Mercer was epic for all the wrong reasons (although Tommy gave him a boxing lesson for the first 3 rounds).

Mickey basically saying I wont leave until you're enough of a man to stand on your two feet alone. He tried to build his character as a person with accountability and love. He had to coach him emotionally to believe in himself so the love, heart and grit he had inside flourished beautifil scene

Burgress Meredith (Mickey) was suffering from Alzheimer's at the time of the filming and he still managed to nail that scene.
That scene was based on Cus D'Amato's (Mike Tyson's coach and father figure) interview. Cus meant the world to Mike, when he died, Mike Tyson was never the same.

Hi Reema!😊 Many people weren't happy about seeing Rocky broke with brain damage in this film. My favorite part of the film is the fight at the end. There was some tragedy outside of this film. Tommy Morrison (Tommy Gunn) died from complications from AIDS, and Sage Stallone (Robert) died of natural causes. He was also Sylvester Stallone's real-life son as you know. This was meant to be the final Rocky film, but many people were not happy with that including Stallone. The final Rocky film would be "Rocky Balboa" (2006). That is sad about Burt Young. 😢His life resembled Rocky's in a way. He was a boxer in the Marines, and he owned his own restaurant in New York. Great reactions to Rocky V, Reema!!!!🎬👏👏👏👏

This movie was a sort of parallel with Mike Tyson around this time. The things mick said to rocky in the flashback were almost quoted by cus d Amato Mike Tyson’s trainer and adopted father. Duke was basically don king who turned Mike Tyson against his team and took advantage of him and robbed him a lot throughout his career

I liked this one too. I know a lot of people didn't, but I think it was a necessary chapter in the Rocky saga, and truthfully, should have been the final movie. But yeah, this movie appeals to people that value family and heart. Doesn't take a genius to look around and see why it doesn't appeal to audiences today. 🤔

I know that the Rocky fans and me included never really liked this movie in the franchise. Even SLY has mentioned that it sucked and had number 6 to make up for this one m.
But I think this one has aged well and continues the story just fine and we still relate and feel sorry for Rocky and are still rotting for him, just how we did in the first movie
    .
This movie still hits more as an adult than as a kid. Let’s be real. Sly spoils us with those great movies ❤
