  • Hello, my name is Liu Ye and I’m a professor and the greenhouse gas research program leader from the University of Queensland.
Water utilities globally face a pressing challenge in the journey towards achieving net-zero goal. As utilities aim to reduce the carbon footprint and adopt sustainable practices, it's crucial to address these challenges in reducing direct process emissions. Understanding the complexities of these emissions and exploring effective mitigation strategies are essential steps. At the 19th IWA Leading Edge conference, I look forward to sharing these challenges and potential sustainable solutions for water utilities in achieving the net-zero emissions, also explore how academics, consultants, industry practitioner, and regulators can work collaboratively in this the net-zero aera.
