This is such a good list. I also read and loved Boy Parts this year! Also somewhere between a 4 and a 5 with it cause it’s so complicated even to think about

I love looking back on the books I’ve read and just feeling that feeling of how good they were! They are such simple objects, like little square stacks of paper, but then there’s a whole story in them and all the feelings and memories. Like little parallel lives you have lived or trips that you’ve been on.
Ok I don’t need to explain what books are 😂 I just share your appreciation for them!
I really look forward to reading Guest list, Boy parts, and The only one left. Haven’t heard Boy parts described like that before but it sounds very interesting.
I’m also always curious what other people consider good writing. I feel like the plot or characters are more concrete to talk about but the writing is so abstract. Anyway!!! Lots of thoughts in my head today 😅

You're absolutely right, reading is so subjective, so my idea of good writing might be very different from what others deem good writing. I should try to do a better job at describing what specifically is "good" about the writing 😅 Word soup moments, lol 😆
