If I ever had the option, I would not do it. I love my dogs, but the reason I love them isn't for their looks, its for their personality and my relationship with them. Honestly, I would. Once my dog dies, I would probably die myself. It won't be the same once she dies and comes back, but as long as my dog is with me, I'm fine.
Just adopt another dog. The new dog has none of the memories of the old one, and it's not storing him, just his DNA. DNA is not a dog anymore than two computers running the same are the same computer. They are just much more similar, but the way the user uses a computer affects what the computer is at any given time.
all he does is copy ryan trahan. Literally the same editing style, same genre of backround music, he just copies everything he does even the font is the exact same
Insane how Jack did this at the end of the college term. I'm at FSU and struggling through finals and bro's out here traveling the country to learn about cloning. Great video as always!
it's pretty awesome how you can have an identical clone of your pet, and yet they can end up with a completely different personality I've seen videos on how you can socialize kittens and stuff this is just further proof that any pet can be a good pet, but they can also become a bad pet it's like nature vs. nurture and like she said, there are definitely factors that change your pets life
It's about genetics. Imagine you lose your child and u have the chance to bring him back wouldn't you take the chance? Yesterday my pet died. My family always was ... not perfect and messy. So my pet suffered under these conditions and I could barely help him. I feel so guilty that I could not give him the life he deserved. If I could get a second chance, I would take it
@@creatordaylight9651That's too bad about your pet. However, if you clone it and have the clone a better life, you would not be helping your original pet in any way. You would simply be helping your clone, but you can find a nearly identical pet at an animal shelter if your patient.
@creatordaylight9651 I hear you but you wouldn't be bringing him back in this case. You would be making a copy and the copy is not the same thing as the real one, it's not like it's reliving life with new experiences. It's basically a new dog with the DNA of the old one
@@siyabongakhumalo4492 I think what they meant was a second chance at raising a cat in better conditions. they didn't necessarily say anything about bringing him back
The main thing i dislike about cloning is that there are plenty of dogs still in shelters, yet you want to make more dogs just to get a dog that you used to have.
@@infamousmusics2547lmfao I have a dog, so I understand. I’m not cloning her; sorry but it’s dumb to clone your pets. There’s plenty of strays out there that need a loving home and are missing entirely unique experiences and love.
@@IPS-FFF72 not the idea of cloning your pet but the idea that you could just easily replace what some people would consider family with some random dog, if i had to pick between my dog and some shelter dog im cloning him no mutt could ever replace him
When it’s my cat’s time, I will hopefully learn to let go. As painfully difficult as it is, it’s just a part of life to let go. It would feel wrong to replace my cat…. He’s everything to me, and remaking him just doesn’t feel right. I just hope he lives a long, healthy life. He’ll be 5-years-old in May. ❤
Jack, I have no clue how you are balancing your content with College, that is extremely impressive. If I had to invest in 3 RUclipsrs, you would be in my top 3 no doubt
Thank you for making this. My dog is getting older, and I’ve thought about how much I will miss him since he was young. This did something I have thought about and it’s interesting to see people who actually did it.
You can't fight death it's the natural process. Cloning your dog would just be shitting on its memory. After all the years your dog has given you how could you do that? It's very selfish tbh and immoral.
@@crimesloucos.1048 A dog has 2.31-2.47 billion base pairs in their DNA, and a human has 3 billion. And we can clone dogs, it isn't about the complexity, cloning humans would be just as easy as cloning dogs as it is the same fundamental process. In matter of fact, cloning is frequently used to replicate human organs for organ transplants, and that is just a similar process, just without using a surrogate from what I can remember. It's obviously an ethical problem and would be very controversial.
They are not fusing a male gamete with a female gamete. They are just cloning a single cell of the animal and multiplying those cells and putting them into a surrogate mother. There a few methods to do this, I don't know which they used. For one example you can put Nucleus of your animal into a egg of another animal then put that "new egg" into a surrogate mother
They actually show you how they get the cells, they just don't tell you. One of the people holds up a punch biopsy cutter. So essentially your original animal is sedated, has a tissue sample taken, and those cells are the ones that are preserved and eventually are used to create the clone.
For me, the clone will never be the same as the original. It will almost feel like living with a being that is not there, if you understand what I'm tryna say
I did see a video talking about how scientists trained snails with shocks and then took something from the trained snail and put it in the untrained snail and then when they shocked the untrained snail it did what the trained snail did
For those who don't know, this is one of the most messed up process ever. Surrogate dog mothers are most of the times dogs that were abandoned or don't have any owners. Being a surrogate dog mother is very painful since they have to be cut open. They don't even get to give consent, and this is a very big issue in pet cloning. It's very immoral and shouldn't be done. Regardless of wanting to keep your pet alive, you shouldn't hurt other animals. The surrogate mothers are also animals, and just because you want to let your dog live forever, that doesn't mean you should hurt other animals. I usually love Jack's content, but the way he didn't show the pain that the surrogate mothers have to go through is just so disgusting for me.
I don't think I'd do it. Even if it were cheaper/free. Having lost my first childhood cat, and my second being 15-16 years old now, I think it would be too hard emotionally. At the end of the day, it wouldn't be the same cat. I wouldn't want to take away from the memory of their individual personalities. I'd rather make new memories, with a cat who would otherwise be left in a shelter.
When I thought cloning I thought exact duplicate like in the movies. So this cloning, basically works as "hitting save" on a specific configuration, but there will still be variance. Pretty cool
No need to clone dogs. Adopt a new friend from the shelter. They would love you; not the same as your previous dogs; but the amount and quality of love from them would probably be the same.❤
For those who love the dogs they’ve lived with, this should be a critical point. You adore this animal-not because of its genetics, but because it became the creature that it is through time spent with you. While a clone may perfectly replicate its genome, it won’t be the same dog because it won’t have the same life, a life that it lived in your company. In almost every way that matters, then, they’re different dogs.
This video quality is really good! I can feel that your channel will growing bigger in the future really soon. Personally I won't clone my dog because like Blake said in the video 10:29 They'll never be them bro
The analogy with the cloned dog and the truck... You can adopt a non-cloned dog practically for free in comparison and they'll love you just as much as a $50K cloned one will.
I can see why people would want to do this, especially if they have the money. Personally I wouldn't do this because there are so many homeless dogs in shelters that are being euthanized because they are not being adopted, so I will keep adopting the dogs that need a home. Very interesting video though!
I love how informative this video is persobally, i think cloning technology is amazing but i would not really use it for personal use (e.g. pets). for me at least it feels like cloning my pet would give me a fake sence of comfort while also giving this clone version so much expectations.
Indeed, I could kind of feel I was having that same sort of dilemma when my own dog passed away some years ago, and ended up getting another of the same breed some months later. I had to try to remind myself it's a whole new dog with his own quirks and personality and not to beholden him to past expectations.
I almost cried. I don’t think this is OK cloning a dog they will never be the same. You cannot replace dogs there too valuable once you’ve gotten attached to one!
@@Xerdar36 I lost my dog keylow in 2020 he was a Shiba Inu and even if I had the choice now to clone him I wouldn’t because 1 it will never be the same dog DNA wise and Rookes wise yes 2 but personality memories will be completely different because it doesn’t matter what you crunch human animal dog cat does not go through the exact same experiences the original goes and it will never be the same animal. It will always be different because it will have new memories different memories different experiences so, your original dog could’ve been a nice dog but then your second one the crown could be in aggressive one based off experiences of other animals attacking them or trauma So no I do not think you should do it. What I do it even if I want to I shouldn’t because it is not the right thing to do and another thing is if in the future if I decided it was gonna have puppies wouldn’t those puppies have mutations because those puppies would be almost the same as the original?

I don't get it. Why isn't the RUclips algorithm pushing this more? One third of this video's audience liked it (and it's very well deserved, the production quality is amazing) yet it only has a few thousand views? So unbelievably underrated. Great video as always Jack.
I hated everything about this video. The clickbait title, the overly loud and busy background music, his personality, going to see the horses at night where you can't see anything, wasting time going through someone else's empty house. Just terrible.
Bc they don’t want the whole audience knowing this tech. Bc if they are showing this kind of tech, then they are DEFINITELY cloning humans. It only costs $50k to clone a dog?? Crazy. This gives much more credence to the celebrity clones conspiracies.
it’s really trippy when they call them “clones” because what went straight to my mind was robots. So my question is, Are they out of the ordinary animals or are they just like every other animal but with an exact twins?
The clone is a genetic copy of the animal whose cells they grow out of. They isolate the cells, grow them a lil bit and then place them into a surrogate mother of the same species. So yeah, pretty much like an exact twin on the cellular level.
I'll be honest, I lost my cat when my house burned down in 2013 (she passed from smoke inhalation). It took years for me to get over it and to this day when I come across old pictures/videos it brings a few tears. If I could've done this, I would have.
I wish I had a clone to compare my likeness with. It could help understand how much lifestyle choices affect height and facial features when comparing ourselves. Also do clones have the same birthmarks? Or are they usually formed from unique experiences in the womb or post-birth. So many questions.
i wouldn't be surprised if my mutt was one of a kind, he had a sister but she died as a puppy so it would be really awesome to always keep that one of a kind mix alive with a clone. however it would just feel so strange to have a dog that looks the same but with a completely different personality. even my purebred dogs i don't want to ever get the same breed again because it feels too much like a replacement for something that just can't be replaced. i would look at this clone and my brain would see my soul dog but my heart would not.
I lost my beloved Boston Terrier back in 2021. She lived to be 16 years old, she gave so much love and was very loved, and lived the best life a dog could ask for. I love her so much I would have given 5 years of my life just to keep her around for 1 more year. Now that she is gone, the idea of bringing her back in some form seems wrong, even if it is technically genetically the same dog, there will only ever be one of her.
I had a dog that passed some years ago, I would of loved for this, just to have a piece of her still living. I know they wouldn't be the same in terms of the way the act. but seeing them would be just enough, I still miss them so dearly.
I feel like I could never clone my pets, because though it would look the same, it wouldn’t be the same animal . It might almost hurt more (at least for me) if the new pet look exactly like the old one but acted differently
as someone that had over a dozen cats and a few dogs, i get the feeling of wanting to preserve but it wouldnt be the same individual. Just get another pet from a shelter, there are plenty of them waiting for a new home.
It's possible but unlikely with today's tech. It's very difficult to clone a simple animal. Less than 200 percent even make 7t ti birth. Humans much more complex. 😁
Now explain why and how this is my problem as an individual. There are going to be two versions of me, one years younger than me? People go to extreme lengths to achieve just that with natural reproduction and still manage to fail, if someone wishes to raise my clone then go for it, evolutionarlly I only win more in the natural selection game. And my DNA isn't even mine for starts, it's a hundreds-of-millions-of-years-long collab between all the living creatures on this planet and is a result of random crossection of dna's of my parents, I own nothing. This is exactly why DNA isn't copyrightable and should never be.
Yo Jack! I’m gonna be honest, I’ve been watching your videos for the past few months and I like them but some felt a little *too* fast for me but this one was amazing! Good pace, good story, great video bro 💙
Moki was an awesome cat, a cat of ours but she passed from cancer in January, we wanted to clone her but it's too late because all we have left is her ashes and a tiny baggie of her fur, nothing they can make a clone out of 😭😭😭
we can clone pets but we apparently find away to clone dinosaurs and other extinct animals without them dying from some type of health issue, plus I've heard when you clone pets they never have the same personality as the original, odd, but ok
It would be pretty cool to clone humans too I dont think there is anything wrong with "altering" the circle of life because it is still following its path
What ethical reason would there be for cloning a human? Like Generic Name said, it would be way easier to conceive or adopt a child. There are concepts of cloning your own cells to treat illnesses, but you don't create an entire human if that is your goal. The only two reasons I could see is that you create someone with your DNA to serve as an organ donor for you or you clone a dying family member to replace them. Both of these are completely unethical.
My aunt's dog that she's had for about 13 years died a month ago. We still have her DNA, but I am just curious how much it is to clone her because my aunt is very sad and I want to make her enjoy the moments she once had with her dog.
i've been wanting to do this for the past 7 years of my beautiful boy's life. i've had him since the day he was born and i never want to spend a day without him. he's my heart dog. plus a new puppy would be the perfect friend for dooodle!! finally someone his own size :P (he's a 10lb pomchi) gahhh if i ever find a secret fortune, i would do this in a heartbeat. glad youtube recommended me this video! instant sub
I had no idea this technology was available to the public and has been used so often in different careers! I have my one and only soulmate kitty and our bond through our unique experiences together is something that could never be replicated!
This is wrong. Cloning animals is inhumane. The way they do it is unethical. It’s bad. Do NOT clone your dog, the clone will have poor health. Do NOT clone.
Every scientific discovery was cruel, there's a reason why "for science" moto exists. Now there are some limits but for exploring a completely new technology trial and error is needed.
My question would be when do genes mutate when bringing new life to earth? If you clone someone, are their genes EXACTLY the same or does some mutation still appear like it does with normal reproduction? If anyone knows the answer I'd be glad to learn.
I'm no expert on genes, but I think there's always a chance? I know 2 identical twins, which are basically clones, and they have small differences. One needs glasses, the other is lactose intolerant.
@@genericname2747 I don't know any identical twins myself, but I heard that if you do, you can differentiate one from another. I guess it makes sense, no perfect clones then. There's no reason for nature to play by our rules, right? 😅
If you didn't know, cloning a animal at 4 years, means the clone will also be 4 years even though it has just been born, because the cells of the previous organism have a certain age, based on their telomeres and it's a information that cannot be changed. They found out this thing when cloning the first sheep.
I was surprised that no one addressed the telomere issue at all, but I guess the people who are trying to get people to clone their pets wouldn't want to elaborate on the downsides.

you guys are so cool!
So never do not clone yourself.
Can you guys clone a human?
Hey so I lost my dog a couple years ago but I have his hair in a sealed tight glass container would I still be able to save any cells?
@@CrazyOmighty I think you can but it will be VERY expensive.
it's pretty awesome how you can have an identical clone of your pet, and yet they can end up with a completely different personality
I've seen videos on how you can socialize kittens and stuff
this is just further proof that any pet can be a good pet, but they can also become a bad pet
it's like nature vs. nurture
and like she said, there are definitely factors that change your pets life
It's about genetics.
@@siyabongakhumalo4492 I think what they meant was a second chance at raising a cat in better conditions. they didn't necessarily say anything about bringing him back
The main thing i dislike about cloning is that there are plenty of dogs still in shelters, yet you want to make more dogs just to get a dog that you used to have.
either you have never own a pet or you just wouldn’t understand
Psyhics see Satan and demons so they made me say satanic things dw it will be in heaven
I'd feel wrong just I'd feel like I'm robbing a shelter dog of the chance to be adopted
Agreed, I feel like if you clone a dead dog it’s going against the original dog.
Not only that, the surrogate mother can get more than 1 puppy if they use multiple cells. And those don't get always adopted...
From five, you will have plenty more years 😊

You can't fight death it's the natural process. Cloning your dog would just be shitting on its memory. After all the years your dog has given you how could you do that? It's very selfish tbh and immoral.
Cloning your dog will not bring him back. His personality will not be the same.
DO NOT CLONE YOUR DOG! IT WILL NOT BE THE SAME DOG!
you just know, that if this technology exists like that, there are cloned people amongst us.
I think they would die very fast
The human DNA is much more complex
@@crimesloucos.1048 A dog has 2.31-2.47 billion base pairs in their DNA, and a human has 3 billion. And we can clone dogs, it isn't about the complexity, cloning humans would be just as easy as cloning dogs as it is the same fundamental process. In matter of fact, cloning is frequently used to replicate human organs for organ transplants, and that is just a similar process, just without using a surrogate from what I can remember. It's obviously an ethical problem and would be very controversial.
it's easy to clone a human. but it isn't ethical
So wait how do they get these “cells”
I mean I’m no scientist but a dog still needs to get pregnant 👀 😅
They are not fusing a male gamete with a female gamete. They are just cloning a single cell of the animal and multiplying those cells and putting them into a surrogate mother.
There a few methods to do this, I don't know which they used. For one example you can put Nucleus of your animal into a egg of another animal then put that "new egg" into a surrogate mother
Sus 💀
i dont
I love your content its amazing
They actually show you how they get the cells, they just don't tell you. One of the people holds up a punch biopsy cutter. So essentially your original animal is sedated, has a tissue sample taken, and those cells are the ones that are preserved and eventually are used to create the clone.

I usually love Jack's content, but the way he didn't show the pain that the surrogate mothers have to go through is just so disgusting for me.
ok I get I get it but like dogs can’t talk so you can’t ask it for consent and therefore it’s impossible to have an anser
@@AdamCanby-pf4sz and therefore, you shouldn’t do it. Tf 😂 that’s like impregnating someone in a coma and being like “welp, they can’t tell me no”
I don't think I'd do it.
This video was incredible Jack💪👊
True
I kinda feel like cloning pets is bad sometimes you have to let go even if you don’t want too it’s a important lesson that pets indirectly teach us.
When I thought cloning I thought exact duplicate like in the movies. So this cloning, basically works as "hitting save" on a specific configuration, but there will still be variance. Pretty cool
I can honestly say that jack is my favorite youtuber by far right now, please never stop uploading.
It’s crazy that technology has come this far. And Jack went all out to show us ❤
No need to clone dogs. Adopt a new friend from the shelter. They would love you; not the same as your previous dogs; but the amount and quality of love from them would probably be the same.❤
im mad he click baited "i cloned my dog" no you didn't
Yep, I agree
For those who love the dogs they’ve lived with, this should be a critical point. You adore this animal-not because of its genetics, but because it became the creature that it is through time spent with you. While a clone may perfectly replicate its genome, it won’t be the same dog because it won’t have the same life, a life that it lived in your company. In almost every way that matters, then, they’re different dogs.
The content this guy is providing while managing college life is just amazing and he has my huge respect 🙏💖
Great video and a very interesting topic I have to say that the quality of your video's are getting insane, much respect man.
oh
This video quality is really good! I can feel that your channel will growing bigger in the future really soon. Personally I won't clone my dog because like Blake said in the video 10:29
They'll never be them bro
Also you got a new sub!
I genuinely can’t see or understand people doing this. Just adopt from a shelter if these people supposedly love animals so much
"so I'm in collage and i can't visit my dog, so I'll fly all the way to Texas to figure out if i should clone him"
Loving the Video so far Jack glad your back btw!
I love how informative this video is
persobally, i think cloning technology is amazing but i would not really use it for personal use (e.g. pets). for me at least it feels like cloning my pet would give me a fake sence of comfort while also giving this clone version so much expectations.
Indeed, I could kind of feel I was having that same sort of dilemma when my own dog passed away some years ago, and ended up getting another of the same breed some months later. I had to try to remind myself it's a whole new dog with his own quirks and personality and not to beholden him to past expectations.
As always mate, brilliantly done, story telling, pacing, even the ending. Incredible job.
I almost cried. I don’t think this is OK cloning a dog they will never be the same. You cannot replace dogs there too valuable once you’ve gotten attached to one!
Not the same you say… it is a literal piece of your original dog… that piece is still alive with you.
Yes thank you for also understanding
Omg you are so real for that! Don’t clone dogs!😭
@@Xerdar36it doesn’t retain the memories; so technically, no, it’s not the same
@@Xerdar36 I lost my dog keylow in 2020 he was a Shiba Inu and even if I had the choice now to clone him I wouldn’t because
1 it will never be the same dog DNA wise and Rookes wise yes
2 but personality memories will be completely different because it doesn’t matter what you crunch human animal dog cat does not go through the exact same experiences the original goes and it will never be the same animal. It will always be different because it will have new memories different memories different experiences so, your original dog could’ve been a nice dog but then your second one the crown could be in aggressive one based off experiences of other animals attacking them or trauma
So no I do not think you should do it. What I do it even if I want to I shouldn’t because it is not the right thing to do and another thing is if in the future if I decided it was gonna have puppies wouldn’t those puppies have mutations because those puppies would be almost the same as the original?

They are just like identical twins. In fact, identical twins are natural clones.
Twins
They are basically no different than identical twins
Clones inherit the biological age of their "original" so they generally don't live as long.
I'll be honest, I lost my cat when my house burned down in 2013 (she passed from smoke inhalation). It took years for me to get over it and to this day when I come across old pictures/videos it brings a few tears. If I could've done this, I would have.
"This is just a way of doing a different way of human intervention." That really cemented me that this is a real way to have a second chance
I love the part where he clones his dog
Imagine jack cloning himself and then his clone posts this video😂😂😂
I feel like I could never clone my pets, because though it would look the same, it wouldn’t be the same animal . It might almost hurt more (at least for me) if the new pet look exactly like the old one but acted differently

Video title: I CLONED MY DOG!!!
Retrad youtuber: doesn’t actually clone his dog
One day, just one day someone who owns a cloning laboratory is gonna secretly take your DNA sample and clone with without your consent

It would be pretty cool to clone humans too I dont think there is anything wrong with "altering" the circle of life because it is still following its path
There's nothing like, *fundamentally* wrong with cloning a human, but if someone is cloning so they can get a kid, why clone when you can adopt?
What ethical reason would there be for cloning a human? Like Generic Name said, it would be way easier to conceive or adopt a child. There are concepts of cloning your own cells to treat illnesses, but you don't create an entire human if that is your goal. The only two reasons I could see is that you create someone with your DNA to serve as an organ donor for you or you clone a dying family member to replace them. Both of these are completely unethical.

I will move on , gotta move on , as the song says. the bacon is so inspirational , it shares it vast wisdom with all of us , and we are all so lucky that it would bestow it's great words with us. we are all children on bacon. hail bacon. hail bacon. The spinning bacon, rotating in one direction with this music... This made me tear up. How could such a bacon do such a thing? I'm struck by awe by this masterpiece. Especially when the bacon spins, showing its lightly salt covered tan skin. I can hear the crunch just from here, and so as the beautiful sound of the bacon scraping the dark, smooth velvet floor. The flavor, music and everything can be heard, tasted, seen and felt from a screen. You can really hear the breaths between the music artist, empathizing her love for this rotating bacon. Truly what I call modern art. This was the most legendary performance by any bacon I have ever watched. The acting was top tier and very life changing. This is one of the greatest work from a piece of bacon I have ever seen especially on 57:42. I am crying. This has made me go through an emotional rollercoaster. I cried, beat off, and also watched a movie while watching this premiere. This has made me go through so much. I passed depression because of this. It really inspired me to become an outstanding young man. Thank you.

I just wast1ed ten minutes of my life to find out it was about bacon.
My eyes hurt
"This is a normal dog and not a clone " My goodness, the world we live in today. Imagine saying that my girlfriend/boyfriend is real and not a clone.
I have always been fascinated with clones. I would clone myself and give myself a much better childhood. I would fully expect him to be his own person though.
This is so good, what a legend
3:07 can someone tell me the song ?

Wow, amazing video man.
Emotional, attention grabbing and entertaining all the way through
That guy says he doesn't ever consider cloning humans. But you know deep down he is curious.
Years ago we thought about cloning our Shar-Pei. She was the example of a Shar-Pei. It was the early stages back then and even more expensive.
0:17 ngl i was hoping he was gonna say ohio ☠️
How old are you? 9? 💀
don't clone. please
The guy says 50,000 is the price of a pickup. Pickup doesn't love you like a dog or cat will. So spend 50,000 on a cat or dog that's not even like your pet or adopt one. Spend on a good pickup or spend on a animal that just has your DNA but not his personality. You decide. In the end, its just a stupid idea.

Though I appreciate your research and presentation, the premise of the procedure is unnatural and makes me sick as human intervention is required to accomplish these otherwise unattainable precision outcomes.

Testing starts on animals.
We're next. We've already been putting animal organs in humans. A man died from receiving a baboon heart transplant.
Everything moves in progression.
@@radfoo72 Cloning is just making a genetic copy of something. This is not something people die from
I dont think you should clone your dog, it just wouldnt be the same, they dont even have the same personality so you can just get the same dog kind since they all look pretty much the same but youll have much more love to him then to a clone
Going off my previous comment, I just had an interesting idea. If cloning humans becomes acceptable and widespread, there would be instances where one could raise their biological twin sibling(the clone) as their child. Imagine having a twin sibling that's 20+ years older than you and is also your parent, and your biological parents(on a cellular level) being functionally your grandparents.
