    I realize I’m a little late to the party, but I just found your channel this morning. Spent my lunch hour watching a lot of three minute videos! I had to comment on this one because, as simple as this idea is, I never thought about doing it this way. People can say what they want to about RUclips, but I learn so much from like-minded people on here... I wish it was around when I was younger!!! New subscriber here!

      Welcome aboard! I started out with the goal of archiving and it morphed into a canoeing community. Truly grateful. Check out my website 3MinutesMaineGuide.com. It’s for everything I can’t do in 3 minutes!

    Hi Lisa, can you do a video of what it looks like when you are about to push off on a trip? You have given us so many tips, it would be nice to see what it looks like from your stern seat point-of-view.

    Hi Lisa. Great videos! Can you tell me what you use for the padding on your yoke. I've been experimenting with sleeping pad foam and duct tape with short lasting and messy results as the duct tape disintegrates quickly. Thanks

      Remember when life vests were segmented? I had one of those fall apart and that dense spongy foam is what I use. For years I also used pool noodles. If you can cruise eBay or the like for one of the old segmented life vests the foam sections will last a lifetime. Good luck Yankee engineering!

      @@3_Minutes_With_a_Maine_Guide That would be comfy because yes I remember. What is the tape you used and can you get a season out of it? Just heading out to put on a thwart rope, thanks for that.

    hi. i am curious.....what boots are you wearing. thx !!

      They are LL Bean boots 16 inches high. Rubber bottoms with a black canvas upper. Which I’ve heard they stopped selling BUT they do still sell a waxed canvas upper. I wore leather for decades. Good but more maintenance. Plus takes longer to dry on a canoe trip. I love the canvas.

    Why do you prefer the life jacket you wear over a zip front style?

    • @3_Minutes_With_a_Maine_Guide
      @3_Minutes_With_a_Maine_Guide  Год назад

      It has just the straps going over my shoulders for a really big range of motion. I need that for poling. I also love that the entire front is a pass through pocket for maps, gloves, cold hands. I don’t know if NRS makes this model anymore. I also line the straps on the sides it’s cooler in the Summer. Thanks for watching!
