I feel like instead of removing it entirely, they should let anyone who had it before the update keep it as a sort of novelty item, even if they remove the functionality. Even if they took it out if the rift and lost it, they should be given it back somehow and then it could stay in the game as a trophy of sorts.

I think it being permanent gives a reward for you for getting to a-1000 apart from some badge on top of your head and just items for the pre run shop you can unlock with badges in general would actually be pretty cool
I went for a run with the tablet a few days ago and I can tell why they wanna get rid of it. It's really buggy. With models appearing deformed in it, and overall just really uncomfortable to use. Hopefully they'll adapt it better in future updates.

Bottle of Strlight is a much better item but it has limited uses, i really think they could have maybe made an item that loses durabilty and needs refilling but doesnt break when runs out (like the flashlight). Maybe they could have gone the Rooms And Doors Route and basically make a item that uses a ton of battery (in this case maybe 1 battery refills 20s instead of 1m for the flashlight and 30s for buklight) but it gives you a view of the hole room in night vision mode, as well as doing what the old scanner did.

As the night vision tablet is getting replaced, I think the item for the replacement should be a Golden Vitamins. It should work like vitamins but with unlimited uses. However you need to wait 50 seconds to use these again.

yeah, the reason for that, is the scanner doesn’t refresh unless you re-enter the room. so moving things will be stuck in place.
