@@M0du5Pwn3n5 thank you for sharing, this is inspiring indeed.
I am mainly an MMORPG game programmer although with C#
I worked on multiple MMORPGs with C++ but my main problem is actually making a game engine
I suck at math and have always used custom built engines on the MMOs I worked on 😁
The problem isn’t skill or understanding it’s that I have never done it before to a point where I could call it an engine or make games with it
The most I have done with C++ and SDL was a couple of basic games so I’m hoping I could get back into it and make a basic engine with an editor for 2D games.
I am just starting to get back to game development after a 2 years break and a lot of python

@@232memo Thank you. I have a few white hairs here and there so I thought maybe it’s time to give up game development after making games for 13 years 😁
I am not lacking in understanding of C++ or anything just don’t have the experience to build a game engine and I am pretty sure I could get something going if I use C# but I am aiming for a C++ basic game engine with lua scripting and a basic clone of the unity editor
Thank you for the motivation, I used to stream game dev here on this channel for multiple years but had to take a break and switched careers due to lost passion for game development and very low effort to reward ratio.
I will return soon and I’m sure this time I’ll make this game engine a reality
