Can you imagine if that new Sequoia had the V8 in it? It would be a no brainer. It should've at least been offered as an option at least for the first model yr.
The price tag on a 21 LC really made it difficult for me to accept.. i opted for the 2023 Lexus GX460 in Nori Green as the second best option to a LC.. one day ill have the 21 LC.
I messaged you back in 2020 when I was looking to get a 2020 Heritage Edition. I bought the Cruiser, but since that time, you sold yours, and went through several cars. Many of the cars you got, including the Sequoia, I considered trading my Cruiser for but glad I held strong and kept it. Recently I bought a Lexus NX 350h Luxury as my daily driver and found myself looking forward to the simplicity and V8 of the Cruiser every weekend. While your Sequoia has the tech and power superiority - I would not be surprised if part of you longed to be own the dinosaur 🦖 again. If I was a betting man, I would bet you will own another sooner than later 🤣.
@@navydoc haha you’re probably right. I love that heritage edition -and you’re much better than me. At times I wish I had just held onto my first one but it would have also led to a less exciting RUclips journey too. 🤷♂️ Happy it worked out the way it did. If the right deal ever pops up ok a 2021 3rd row with 15K miles or less. I’d make it happen.

@@jeromerusselldemusicologist haha I know… it’s a rookie move to sell a heritage. Won’t be snagging another anytime soon. I’ll wait until they drop a bit more.
Untamed, I know it's a small thing but I'm so glad you made special mention of that badge on the Land Cruiser, symbolic of the LC's heritage. Can't get past the new overdone Sequoia's styling - too many blocky lines and fussy headlight design (agree with you on the comparison to the Tundra front "bumper" area), but also the cheaper look and feel of the interior, and the fakakta rear interior floor/seating configuration, whatever the reason (battery)...just rubs in your face more the compromises made in the vehicle, the choice of powertrain, etc. Otherwise, certainly Sequoia would/should trump the old (and new) LC in the interior space department. Toyota needs to say a rare mea culpa, and do an early complete refresh. If they have to keep that power / drivetrain, figure out a better location for the battery.... maybe two narrow ones along the frame rails or whatever.
I would assume that Sequoia is a timebomb with the twin turbo V6 . Landcruiser will always be on Top. especially the 200 series. My friend got his third row 21 land cruiser for 83k 6 months ago. his also had icon stage 2 setup which was nice . did have some dings and scratches. My next door neighbor bought his white 21 for 91k with over 40k about 2 years ago.
IMO that Landcruiser is the superb choice, only if you plan to actually off-road it a good amount. If you're exclusively a pavement driver but want a big SUV, a Sequoia (V8 or ttV6, take your pick) is better.
They will recall the hybrid engines after they get close to replacing the non hybrid engines. They don’t want to recall them now because they didn’t want to recall ALL of them right after they came out.
Why dont you get a chevy suburban Z71 with the 6.2 V8.... It has a great engine, very reliable and a little bit of off road chops. Why keep sticking with toyotas?
@@UntamedMotors how does LX600 stack up to either of these? That would be a great video. I’m actually in the market for one of the 3. Leaning LX600, but I only have 1 kiddo and one big dog.
I think they only made 130 Magnetic Gray HE units with the 3rd row. 40,000 miles is nothing and you will likely sell it with 45,000 miles. Dump that Sequoia and bring that LC200 home!

Anyone who would pay 80-83K for a new or used vehicle is out of their mind. Also, the heavy breathing and constant snuffing is irritating. The gold wheels were so 1990's as to make that LC dated and tired. Both are a very hard pass for anyone who understands these are depreciating liabilities and expenses.
Great video! Awesome insight, please post long videos like this one.👍🏽
I would take the LC200 Land Cruiser with the 5.7 V8, all day. Even if you gave me two 2024 Sequoia’s I would still pic the 20-21 Land Cruiser.
Can you imagine if that new Sequoia had the V8 in it? It would be a no brainer. It should've at least been offered as an option at least for the first model yr.
Man if the Sequoia had the V8 damm it'd be smoking the land crusier
@@everydayfun9531 if it had the V8 it’d be in my parking lot lol
It’s refreshing to see you and ur family using the vehicle as it was intended for and not as a museum piece!
To me the 2021 Land Cruiser Heritage Edition is better, way better.

Yeah the prices of 200 series land cruisers are still a bit unrealistic. Good call either way the 460 👌
I couldn’t stomach the used price for 200s. They aren’t completely without issues.

Do a side by side 2nd gen sequoia pro vs 3rd gen pro
@@Pitchpullin5 I could do that! 👍
Both your choices have been awesome. But the sequoia has all the new tech and room. The 200 is a close 2nd
They are both nice but that Stormtrooper white would look awesome parked next to my Darth Vader 87 Buick Grand National.
It's a gamble. The Sequoia value could plummet if issues arise.

One of the dealership in my area has a 2021 LC200 with 141k miles on it and they're asking for 68k not including the taxes and registration yet.
Man i wanna get the sequoia but that 3rd row is a bummer and would wanna get the grandhighlander over the sequoia instead due to that reason itself.
Just teasing you. I was along for the ride with this sienna
It’s not even close. I’ll take the one that you take your road trips with piece of mind that you are not going break down
Agree. I took my 200 for a 7,000 trip around northern U.S / Canada in August.
There shouldn’t even be a question, the LC200 is about as good as you can get😀
Back of the sequoia looks just like a minivan
5.7L V8…
No question..
LC 200
LC200 Heritage edt like it has no 3 3rd row as we have no need for a 3rd row for just 2 who will ever be in the car
I specifically didn't want 3rd row seats, so it was easy choice. Two kids is enough.
