Beautiful job! I have my Grandmother's chairs that are rather worn. This would be great in my cottage garden! Tip: Keep the springs! Folks here put a votive holder for candles or jar in them for candles and flowers. You may hang them on a wall or nail to a board to mount. Great DIY for farmhouse especially!
The chair turned out great! Love the paint color! It fits in with your other plants nicely! I watched Catherine's video first and loved hers too. Both great ideas! So nice that you both know each other and are friends!
Great job! I worked in garden centers for 14 years and we used old chairs for planters. If the entire seat was missing, we could staple chicken wire to the chair first. Works great although it's really pokey!

Great idea! Thank you! I do love all kinds of changes but love wood in its natural warm colours. Could never paint it as it could be any material then. Especially inlays deserve.respect. I had to learn that myself on boarding school. It's so time intensive to carve out and cut out the small pieces. Even a backgammon board.

I love the chair and I love what you did to make it a planter. I think I would used a little rub & buff gold on the edges if the gorgeous details on the back of the chair. I also watch your video walking tour of Edinburgh Castle. That was very enjoyable. I have a linkages to Scotland through my mother. Her maiden name was Crawford. The Crawford name is link to Scotland’s hero William Wallace. His mother was a Crawford. Oh and Yes Dainty Catherine is my favorite you tube videos. She is adorable. Ann from Va. USA 🇺🇸

Well Mr Carrington I wondered where you were going with this one. I couldn’t understand why you were ripping a perfectly good seat pad etc out when it only needed reupholstering with different fabric. Then the soil came along and voila, I got it. Lovely idea for the patio.

Love the chair, the colour of the plants looks great against the blue. I do think you might need to poke a few holes in the plastic for drainage though 🙂
I recovered a chair seat 10 years ago and never actually re-attached it to the chair. I sat on it hoping it never wiggled off leaving me on the floor! Now I stick to painting wood chairs! I'll be sharing a video about painting a dresser in Rustic Bohemian soon!
