- This documentary, produced by SLCtv in 1991, documents the reconstruction of one of the city's most iconic buildings: the Richardson Romanesque civic cathedral, The City and County Building.
I had the great privilege to work on this project as a mechanical designer for Bridgers and Paxton consulting engineering firm. All disciplines were challenged to provide state of the art services while keeping in compliance with the historic restoration. The design required several visits to the site, careful measurements and faith in the restoration process. It is a beautiful building, and I am proud to have contributed to its restoration.

Curious if he was able to see or tell if it was a tartian mud flood evidence. This building as many many other cathedrals and the Salt Lake temple, show signs of mud flood, and when it was settled by the Mormons, they were already existing, just the bottom few floors were flooded with mud! It’s definitely an interesting rabbit hole to go down!
@@ltucker8182 You do know that there are architectural plans, and work orders, and photos of it being built. What? Did they pay some architects to back-engineer the thing? Doubt it. I believe that there is some seed of truth in the mud flood theory and am open to flat earth; but when there is proof the other direction you go where it leads you.
@@ToolFan68 there not photos of the actual construction! They said they were buried in the cornerstone…. The plans, photos, other info buried in a cornerstone????? What’s the reason? Why don’t we have dates of erection, it’s always dates of occupancy. These buildings were already existing! Freemasons, Mormons, jesuits, took over these buildings. And repurposed them! Nothing you say to me will change my belief! But thanks for stopping by! Lololololol
What a wonderful documentary!
Very few buildings are given a second chance to be useful. Most are torn down and something new and disposable is put into its place. These people realized the value of their heritage and kept a major piece of their history intact.
My parents were married in this beautiful building in 1948.
I made this movie. Why did someone cut the front off of it?
I thought it seemed to have a rather abrupt beginning. I’d love to see the rest of it.
