Great episode, but I wondered why Daryl never corrected Cordon when he accused Daryl of killing his brother?🤷🏾♀️ It was the young French woman, Maribelle that killed Codron's brother. Loved seeing Carol at the end!😎💕
I have to say that I am so glad that they DID honor the dead of Operation Overlord. Men died on that beach in the thousands. It was horrible. I have some sense of it, because in my own family, my great uncle died aboard the USS Lexington during the Battle of the Coral sea, and I remember my great grandparents telling me about it. My grandmother never forgot the pain of losing her younger brother. My partner lost her own brother (USMC) in Korea. War is a horrible thing, it is barbarism beyond cruelty. The echoes of World War II resound even today. Sadly, far too many people today have forgotten, or never knew the pain of those days. There are those who deny the Holocaust. Many are actually WELCOMING the extremism and totalitarianism espoused by some in our governments, American AND European! We must stop, look backward at what such beliefs wrought THEN... to avoid falling into the pain and agony beginning to regrow NOW.
Couldn’t agree with you more. My own grandfather stormed the beach (Omaha) and survived, but he never ever spoke about it. I cannot imagine going through months of training, living alongside, socializing with and sailing across the sea with hundred of 18yr old boys that are as nervous and scared as you, only to lose nearly every one of your new brothers in under an hour of heavy fire fight in a foreign land. It is madness. The best depiction of it I’ve seen comes from Saving Private Ryan, but even that sells the horror far short I’m told. The emotional scars that survivors are left with had to be worse than death for thousands of those men. It was an entire generation affected by this, and it’s why they truly were the greatest generation of Americans.
Carol absolutely did not mean Rick and Michonne came back because she would not have waited a minute into the call to bring that up. The guy who didn't kill Daryl for killing his brother, has the pocket watch with him that has the picture of the nest in it and that has to be resolved so Daryl is going to have to go back to the castle to defend it against Janae. Carol will find her way to France. It's possible Morgan came back because Fear The Walking Dead may end up back in Virginia
@user-rf3oy9sf9r Maggie was living at the new Hilltop not the Commonwealth. It would have to be somebody who knew where the Commonwealth was and Rick and Michonne don't know
@user-rf3oy9sf9r No, Dead city takes place 5 or 6 years after the events of Rest In Peace. This Daryl Dixon show is right after where it left off in Rest In Peace so unfortunately no.
My theory: season 2 is already said to take place in the perspective of Carol. It seems from the new trailer the first 2-3 episodes will follow her trying to get to France, while the later part seems to be her finding him. We know by leaked photos Carol does eventually get to France, so some aspect of Season 2 will be set after the end of Season 1. Likely the first 3 episodes is carol getting to France, episodes 4-5 is carol finding Daryl and the last episode is Carol, Daryl and Laurent deciding to kick Genet from her leadership. For a guess on Season 3 I think it’ll start off with Daryl and Carol killing Genet and maybe Daryl finding a ship back to America. We could see season 3s episodes 1-2 being the civil war against Genet, episode 3 being Daryl and Carol finding the ship back to America, episode 4-5 following Daryl and Carol traveling back to America and possibly making a quick pit stop in either Wales or Ireland. Episode 6 could be Daryl and Carol coming back to America and then running into Rick where the next TV show spin off takes place. Just my theory but what do you guys think?
Nice theory, but judging from the pace of the first season and the miniseries format, carol will probably already end up in France by the 2nd episode lol
I liked the show but was disappointed it didn’t show the fast aggressive walkers it teased about. I am glad Carol is coming back because she is one of my favorite characters.
Please I hope nothing happen to Issa 😢😢😢😢 she's such a vibe character tho...even she doesn't have fighting ability but she's just a vibe... I hope nothing happen to her 😢
Daryl would never give up looking for Rick, but he also wouldn't leave when his help is still needed, and he knows Genet and her people will raid the nest. I believe Carol was referring to Rick when they were talking over the radio and she cut out. I also think it'd be easier for him to stay because he'd be more hopeful about saving Issa and the child than he would Rick. Rick has been gone a long time. So yeah, I think he put the child first.
Say what you will about dead city but at least it didn’t kill off any of it’s main characters in the first season! Quinn could have been a compelling necessary evil next season but it seems like there giving that role to codron instead! Looks like we’ll see carol kill all those other guys in Maine next season I bet she’ll just leave that biker guy to die I mean he did ruin a mustang that’s in good shape in apocalypse! So it seems losang was student who fell in love with France in 90’s and stayed there for about a decade or more before the apocalypse! Also a little more Daryl back story
Ummm Dead City killed off every damn body 😂 I really liked the old lady who helped Neagan & Maggie. Neagan killed the big black dude. Then the guy and girl got killed in the tunnel. There was literally no one left alive from their community. Hell Dead City killed people so bad I don't even know their names.😂
What a great ending, I'm wondering if Colderan may end up being a pretty good guy, a lot like Daryll. I see the connection with his brother and Merle with Daryll. I noticed the similarities when Calderon put him s brother down reminded me of Merle. I was thinking the same thing about who came back was not someone but Ezekiels cancer. As I said before, he's not the second coming of Christ. He's a savior of mankind, not the return of Jesus, that would be stupid. Messiah means savior, she didn't say he was the return of Christ but a savior of mankind. That's a bad take
Codron still has good in him underneath it all. When he looked into the eyes of the kid God spoke to him and he realized just how important it is to keep the child alive. The future of humanity depends on it. So he blasted the bad guys instead.
Funny how relatively sparse the zombie presence seemed to be in so much of the French countryside and Paris. They apparently hang out en masse on the beaches of Normandy instead.
i thought its the best product the walking dead has released since mid season 9, and season 6 of twd. it was really refreshing. the cinematography and the sets / locations they used were gorgeous. added to it a lot, seeing iconic french locations was awesome, in america we never see the famous landmarks, and when we do its cgi. the characters and world they made was also great, i was very impressed
All I know is this show brings back great memories of what the show used to be in 1rst season of the walking dead, maybe better. Love this new Daryl. I wish he was stronger in the game though. So glad to see carol .
I thought it was great. There's so much I loved about it but I was let down they didn't connect it to the CRM. Also the after credit scene from World Beyond made me think we were going to find out the origins of the virus and how this all started. Regardless I thought all the characters were well done even the side characters we're very well written
Exactly we never got to see how a dead person soon turn a fast running walker like in the ending credit in World Beyond. That scene show it started in France. In the dixon stories we just saw basically walkers being juiced up. Thats not how the ending credit showed a dead person returning as a fast running walker. Is world beyond further into the future than dixon stories?
The CRM coming. They're teasing it next season. The mysterious CRM has been hinted since all the way back in season 1. It's time for the big reveal what they do.
You can tell that Carol's scene was filmed in France by the painted lines on the road. So, it seems that the entire production team is in France and it only makes sense to have Melissa McBride's character travel there in the plot.
its crazy how it went from daryl searching for rick to rick will search for daryl cuz bro got in a whole nother dimention or smth he forgot the cause he came there for
The idea Daryl been more of a father is really weird being as tho they barely know each other it was incredibly a heavy responsibility to put on someone that you barely know just cause he wasn’t a horrible man and just so happened to be a nice one that helped like that doesn’t make him that lil boys father figure lol half the stuff Daryl taught him was literally just for his survival and not cause he loves him he’s a good man so of course he cares for a lil child and don’t wanna see a kid hurt lol I just think that was a lil too far with the putting the father roll on Daryl like that and quiet frankly unfair lol he would actually be repeating the cycle of he abandoned his ACTUAL family back home in America not if he leave a child in France that he so happened to help and barely even knows lol
We do not really know much about Codron, other than he had a brother and some goons and that they were probably not saints. Prior to Daryl arriving they also respected and left the nuns alone. He did lose his brother and went into a rage, but spent a considerable amount of time "hunting" down Daryl. I think its fair to assume there could be a thousand reasons why he did not want to kill him at that moment and had a change of heart. Realising that Daryl is not a bad person.. his brother could have instigated whatever got him called.. etc etc. Codron losing his brother was also a nice throwback to Daryl and Merle in the beginning. The two pairs could resemble eachother quite well. I hope Codron gets a chance to live in season 2.
I love this episode but I'm tired of these hard head as kids 😂😅 they do not listen... I couldn't tell if it was day dreaming when the lol messiah was yelling his name with all them zombies closing in on him. And where the hell all them zombies spawn from 😂😅
@kholmilk9273 Good question mate... I was pointing at the screen like that Leonardo Dicaprio meme 😂 but couldn't tell if it was really him or Uncle Darryl was hallucinating
Yeah the ending kinda didnt sit well with me. I mean how strange we see walkers just laying down on a beach. They move in herds looking to feed. Idk very strange. I would choose that we just get back to the states pronto.
Quinn sacrificed himself for Isabelle and Laurent. That's understandable. Enlisting into the military to fight for a country you have zero ties to makes no sense.
Morgan and daryl are vastly different characters but when Morgan left I understood why caring for people and then losing them damages him so he felt that he had to leave and I always respected that more than once he thought about going back , daryl on the other I can’t objectively believe daryl would say “f” America ,”f” my old life and oh yea and “f” my search for Rick
Carol said if you’re lying , i wont be back! Lol classic Schwarzenegger Joke. I always say carol goes into Terminator mode in the walking dead. Funny they have her that line 😂
Leaving Laurent behind would be the best thing for Daryl. People forget it's because of that little shyt that they got captured and nearly killed. Keep him around, and you run the risk of him doing it again. Screw that effing kid. End the Laurent storyline and move on to something else.
My theory of how all the shows will connect is a World War I think. In Dead City they talked about a “Clash of Civilizations”, I also think it was mentioned in the main show too. But we also seen so many communities along the way. They show us this new zombie experiment which can turn them into super zombies. France seems strong but also don’t forget the CRM! The CRM also have the same type of thinking like the French but they seem more dead ass about it. Then you have Negan that is leading that group in New York. Idk but I noticed the big figures in the main show are being separated and they have their own like big problems like someone always wants control. They seem to resolve it or whatever. They did mention something about the characters will be put in situations like never before. So maybe it’s just what I would want to see lol. But I hope it ends like where they all connect in a big war. The French have the super zombies, Negan has the power of using the zombies for resources, The CRM in World Beyond and they do Genocide and have no issue with doing it, I am still working on FTWD but there are talks about PADRE. I’m so excited because also at the end of the main show, Michonne looks like she’s heading towards a horde or army. Why would they show us that. It makes me think of all the reasons. I’m so excited!
This was my exact thoughts too!! I couldn’t stand that kid or how he rushed to stop Daryl from going back home at the end of the episode like leave him the heck alone smh lol. Didn’t care much about his aunt either. I do still love that Daryl has his own show though he’s awesome and the zombies were soo good in the show and was nice to see Carol at the end.
Codron realized he was the bad guy… he promised his mother he would protect his brother. No doubt his mother wasn’t evil. He went on this pursuit with his brother, after his mother died, and ended with him holding the gun on Daryl, realizing he had become the bad guy. That’s my thought anyway…
As an American who has lived in Europe I agree, there are a lot of cool places to have the show based in, even if only for an episode or less to have a quick background shot. But I also hate when anyone says there aren’t the same things in America… yes there are awesome sights… different but still awesome. Imagine seeing the Grand Canyon or Mount Rushmore or the any of the unique American sights. It’s the same as any European sights… just makes it more relatable when you’ve been to the places they’re showing… something that doesn’t actually require on location filming.
Now that I hear someone say Carol said, it came back. I believe it could had been that because Carol says in another clip, she needed to find Daryl because he is the ONLY family she has left. Well if Ezekiel’s cancer came back and it kills him that would leave Carol feeling like Daryl is the only family she had left. Anyway, I never even put that together until I heard you say that. Thanks for that information. Can’t wait to find out what she said for sure. Just to close that chapter of wonder. lol
How do we know that it orginated in France? In season 1 or 2 of the walking dead, when they were in that bunker, it seemed like the US knew about the virus before it was a plague. I may be misremembering, but i dont think its been discussed or explained how it started, or from where. As we see France becoming infected, could be the same time around when the US was getting infected.
@@DellaY2056 the guy from the bunker?.. I watched another video, and I havent seen the world beyond series. Apparently its in there, where written in french it said the dead were born here or something on an air duct vent on the last episode. I will have to check it out.
Was a good series hyped for season 2, the ending was awesome happy to see carol and guessing well be seeing more of here season 2, and also my opinion on what carol meant by came back was Negan came back because the way dead city ended it would make sense that he came back, and it would be a great way to tie all the shows back together and end TWD but hope not liking these spin offs
I just finished this show and it really is one of the best things for TWD, I really enjoyed it. The divine intervention theme and actually having God involved (even some other beliefs) adds a lot more depth and makes for interesting story points. Plus adding in the science experiments on the walkers should have been done seasons ago. I hope they make this more relevant and they find more science experiments happening around the world somehow. I also hope they get some kind of reunion with Rick and them while Rick's happy to know he's alive he also encourages him to go back/stay in France that's where he's needed. Then later on they end up meeting again to fight some bigger war, probably against experimented walkers or whatever. Things are finally happening in the show that should have been happening awhile ago.
I have feelings they tryna build TWD for the future with these character : - Judith - RJ - Hershel - Ginny (from Dead City) - Laurent (from Daryl Dixon) - (new kid character in Rick spinoff later)
It was mentioned that the boat made stops to England and Canada, so I imagine Daryl took Laurent with him, and the next season will take place in England.
The guy who was seeking his revenge for his brother's death, should have just left from the bad guys group but for some reason the writers had him go back and be a prisoner 😅
I also hoped we could get some information on the virus because in season one of the main series the guy at the cdc said that France was closest to a cure.
She said rick which is gonna line up with the ones who live finale. She's quietly sobbing because michonne doesn't make it but rick does. Put it all together.
Daryl with a bunch of low budget French actors (unknown actors) keeps costs down some. It came back could be Carol’s cancer she was treated for before the show.

We must stop, look backward at what such beliefs wrought THEN... to avoid falling into the pain and agony beginning to regrow NOW.
the few americans that were there*
Couldn’t agree with you more.
It’s a tv show
@@beanbag9696 Of course it's a TV show. But television can reflect reality. They handled a real life situation thoughtfully and with respect.
👏
Carol absolutely did not mean Rick and Michonne came back because she would not have waited a minute into the call to bring that up. The guy who didn't kill Daryl for killing his brother, has the pocket watch with him that has the picture of the nest in it and that has to be resolved so Daryl is going to have to go back to the castle to defend it against Janae. Carol will find her way to France. It's possible Morgan came back because Fear The Walking Dead may end up back in Virginia
@user-rf3oy9sf9r Maggie was living at the new Hilltop not the Commonwealth. It would have to be somebody who knew where the Commonwealth was and Rick and Michonne don't know
It was Rick. And she has to be careful what she says on the phone.
Plus their spin off is coming up. So my guess is it will tie in with this some how.
When they get back to America they could very well sail into New York thus linking up with our characters from 'Dead City'.
Carol will go by boat to save Daryl. Knowing Daryl he doesn't abandon the boy and skips his boat ride.
3 seasons is too much in my opinion, even if i'm enjoying the series it shouldn't be that long otherwise it could get boring
Good theories.
Solid recap and theories. My mind is still trying to wrap around the whole season. They really created something here. It was amazing.
Totally agree 👍bloody amazing!!
I just can't wait till Daryl tells Rick everything about his travels in France. I wanna see Rick's face finding out all that
@@YAHYASHOTLIPS Rick may already know some stuff about France. What if CRM and France are working together?
So much happened, it seemed like more than 6 episodes I watched.
Is this worth watching or is it just TWD 2
I liked the show but was disappointed it didn’t show the fast aggressive walkers it teased about. I am glad Carol is coming back because she is one of my favorite characters.
Im really enjoying these new original stories they telling, I feel like they doing better now they don’t have to adapt from the main comic anymore
I feel like the show will end with Daryl and Carol bringing Laurent back to America for sure.
Yeah. I also have a feeling issa, the black girl, and the black older guy will die. If not all, one will.
Please I hope nothing happen to Issa 😢😢😢😢 she's such a vibe character tho...even she doesn't have fighting ability but she's just a vibe... I hope nothing happen to her 😢
I think it should start with them going to America like screw France why go through the trouble again and risk dying
I don’t want Daryl to stay. I want him to go back to America.
Daryls home never was in France
My Theory: They are gonna stretch it out like the original series. This is gonna involve more thin sub-plots, random bad decisions, and slow pacing.
Daryl is a fucking menace with his mace and it’s so badass
Say what you will about dead city but at least it didn’t kill off any of it’s main characters in the first season! Quinn could have been a compelling necessary evil next season but it seems like there giving that role to codron instead! Looks like we’ll see carol kill all those other guys in Maine next season I bet she’ll just leave that biker guy to die I mean he did ruin a mustang that’s in good shape in apocalypse! So it seems losang was student who fell in love with France in 90’s and stayed there for about a decade or more before the apocalypse! Also a little more Daryl back story
Dead city killed off every new character that wasn't a villian
Ummm Dead City killed off every damn body 😂 I really liked the old lady who helped Neagan & Maggie. Neagan killed the big black dude. Then the guy and girl got killed in the tunnel. There was literally no one left alive from their community. Hell Dead City killed people so bad I don't even know their names.😂
my favourite moment was when Daryl went to Hogswart. 0:11
The ending with Carol retrieving Daryl's motorcycle was a flashback .... Carol is ON THE BOAT !!!! 😏
Oh wow!!! Sounds just about right !
It was great seeing Daryl again can’t wait for the book of Carol.
It is so cool to see Daryl walk the same pathes I walked when I went to Normandy. I really like this show ❤❤
i think carol is on that boat coming towards Daryl at the end.
Ooooooo great theory 👏 ☺️
i thought its the best product the walking dead has released since mid season 9, and season 6 of twd. it was really refreshing. the cinematography and the sets / locations they used were gorgeous. added to it a lot, seeing iconic french locations was awesome, in america we never see the famous landmarks, and when we do its cgi.
the characters and world they made was also great, i was very impressed
This whole series was very refreshing
All I know is this show brings back great memories of what the show used to be in 1rst season of the walking dead, maybe better. Love this new Daryl. I wish he was stronger in the game though. So glad to see carol .
Give Carol her own show for one season then have them meet up for a shared second season.
@@Hey_its_Koda no that's the weird thing, the world Beyond was supposed to take place about two years before the final season of TWD
We need RICK and DARRYL back that’s the real fire 🔥
This is the first time I have enjoyed the walking dead in a long time. All shows included
True... Daryl > Dead City
The fact by not leaving lunte he's leaving Judith
cadron didnt kill him because hes wearing a varient of ricks murder jacket and ricks spirit lives in it, thus cadron saves daryl.
I want to know how the kid caught up to Daryl? He traveled night and day, and exactly the time that Daryl was heading to the boat, Laurent comes..WTH
i hate it actually. pls just let my man Daryl go back to home.
he teleported
Baby Jesus teleported himself to say goodbye 😂😁🤷🏻♂️
I found you recently. You're a breath of fresh air amongst the TWD clickbait clowns. Keep up the good work!
I love this episode but I'm tired of these hard head as kids 😂😅 they do not listen... I couldn't tell if it was day dreaming when the lol messiah was yelling his name with all them zombies closing in on him. And where the hell all them zombies spawn from 😂😅
How did he even catch up to Darryl is my question
@kholmilk9273 Good question mate... I was pointing at the screen like that Leonardo Dicaprio meme 😂 but couldn't tell if it was really him or Uncle Darryl was hallucinating
Yeah the ending kinda didnt sit well with me. I mean how strange we see walkers just laying down on a beach. They move in herds looking to feed. Idk very strange. I would choose that we just get back to the states pronto.
@@kholmilki think he caught up cause Daryl was tryinh find his grandfather grave and im sure that took him awhile!!!
Ready to see carrol save Daryl from a dramatic scene 😂😂
I wonder if Daryl and rick grandfathers knew each other since they both fought in the war.
Quinn sacrificed himself for Isabelle and Laurent. That's understandable. Enlisting into the military to fight for a country you have zero ties to makes no sense.
if all they need is cool locations, why not set a season in disneyworld. who doesn't want to see the dead wandering around adventureland?
Morgan and daryl are vastly different characters but when Morgan left I understood why caring for people and then losing them damages him so he felt that he had to leave and I always respected that more than once he thought about going back , daryl on the other I can’t objectively believe daryl would say “f” America ,”f” my old life and oh yea and “f” my search for Rick
When Daryl picked up the head I was thinking "throw it at that bitch" and he did it 😂
When you run out of ideas, send your characters to another country
I do NOT wanna lose the french. It's the best thing about the show so far. anyone else?
Like to pay respects to the pigeon man. 😔
I know! I first saw him on The Outlander. Great actor
Carol said if you’re lying , i wont be back! Lol classic Schwarzenegger
Joke. I always say carol goes into Terminator mode in the walking dead. Funny they have her that line 😂
Nice spin-offs we need more of them.👍
Love your recaps man, great job as always.
Norman in Normandy! LOVED IT!!!
I’ve really enjoyed these episodes. But am I the only one that finds Laurent and his aunt annoying? I hope Daryl goes back to America.
Facts
Lmao you aint gotta go far like that
This was my exact thoughts too!!
Is there a reason it’s always cloudy now in the walking dead lol but only rains sometimes and hardly ever see a nice sunny day 😂
Omg I’ve never been this early
Nicely worked video coverage man.
Great video. Thanks for covering Daryl.☺️
I really enjoyed this season. I dont know how they go from completely destroying the original walking dead to these two good spinoffs.
Deus ex machina is often associated with bad writing... yet I am liking it here. Hope the new season comes soon.
They started a series and just don’t know when to give tf up on it I can’t believe y’all like the walking dead universe like this
Now that I hear someone say Carol said, it came back. Just to close that chapter of wonder. lol
I can't remember a thing about Dead City. This series sticks.
Same. That's crazy 😂
Remember Edward Jenner?
@@DellaY2056 the guy from the bunker?.. I watched another video, and I havent seen the world beyond series. Apparently its in there, where written in french it said the dead were born here or something on an air duct vent on the last episode. I will have to check it out.
Was a good series hyped for season 2, the ending was awesome happy to see carol and guessing well be seeing more of here season 2, and also my opinion on what carol meant by came back was Negan came back because the way dead city ended it would make sense that he came back, and it would be a great way to tie all the shows back together and end TWD but hope not liking these spin offs
I .oved him finding his grandfathers grave
Very emotional for me and many others
Sam Porter Bridges came a long way
Pls let him go home i dont want him there PLEASE LET DARYL GO HOMEEEEEE
If it wasn’t for my investment in Darryl’s character, I would have quit this show after 2 episodes. Very unimpressed. Hope the next one is better.
What a finale! What a show!! 🔥🔥🔥
Now…we wait for Rick MF’n GRIMES!!!
Am I in the minority? I forgot about Rick 😮😂
Brooke meeting Laboon and Daryl meeting Rick these two things I am eagerly waiting for
We all know how Carol feels and what she does when Daryl misses a lunch date!!!😂
I wanted Quinn to live. He's a good guy at heart
I have feelings they tryna build TWD for the future with these character :
- Judith
- RJ
- Hershel
- Ginny (from Dead City)
- Laurent (from Daryl Dixon)
- (new kid character in Rick spinoff later)
It was mentioned that the boat made stops to England and Canada, so I imagine Daryl took Laurent with him, and the next season will take place in England.
The guy who was seeking his revenge for his brother's death, should have just left from the bad guys group but for some reason the writers had him go back and be a prisoner 😅
Yeah I don’t understand why he went back
Does he reply? Huge fan bro love your stuff!
This is my sh** I love this series so dope and I love this version of the walkers
And I see Carol is joining after all
I'm locked in ...let's go 🔥🔥🔥
I think in next season Daryl will go to Poland, because why not
I knew Codron would end up making the right decision from the moment Genet took that baby and he got nervous about it
I also hoped we could get some information on the virus because in season one of the main series the guy at the cdc said that France was closest to a cure.
This was a good series . I thought you would also do the waking dead: The ones who live, with Rick and Michonne.
My favorite part of this video is when he explains the ending.
