Neal Rafferty here. I was afraid that this one was where we’d fall out, as I adore this daft old love letter to this daft old show to an extent that means I’m likely to invite to step outside anyone who wallows with too much relish in its many and very obvious flaws. Happy to say that you managed to stay on the right side of the line and that your solicitors will therefore NOT be hearing from my mother after all. Carry on. PS - Matt’s description of “Children in Need celebrations” conjured a rather different tone to those evenings and broadcasts than I’d remembered. Fair enough. PPS - you also didn’t mention Davison’s abject failure at the very end not only to hold, for all of three seconds, a nostalgic grin but to prevent it from lapsing into a “I really must get out this fucking show” frown.

Glad we didn't let you down (too badly...) Excellent point on the final shot!
