Good vid mate, I did consider getting a PC50 or similar, I even considered a Velosolex as well just for pottering around town, but I wanted to go on cycle tracks so that counted both these out so I’ve ended up buying a 250watt Ebike. Nice to see these old Honda mopeds still being used and appreciated mate.👍
If you want to get a little more power out of your bike and keep it looking standard take off the exhaust drill out the little pipe in the end where the exhaust comes out and refit a new pipe with an internal Diameter of 12 mil and make it about 13 mil shorter than the original one you took out weld back in your new pipe trying not to damage as much chrome as possible your bike will feel a little more talky and more free Revving hope this helps I’ve got a similar bike but mine is the Novio cheers Derek
Makes me look forward to getting my 69 PC50 I bought a week ago -- after a loooong time looking for one - not many in US. one of these was my first bike fifty yars ago. Enjoyed the ride! ... Your ride around the sport bikes reminded me of my Cub 50's we would take bar hoping after band practice, I once was told by a Harley rider at bar, "A real man don't ride those..." -- My answer, "No, it takes a real man with balls to ride one of these!" These are mor fun than some Ducati's I have owned!... okay, maybe not the Ducati's...
I saw one and worked on one in the US one time and I wish I had that bike it was an old one but it's like a QA Honda trail 50 engine only the qa50 had two speeds and no pedals but the head and the cylinder and the valve cover and the valve train where all the same as that moped
Would love to have one of these. I took my NC50 on a several hundred mile trip with some good hills. Mostly I had to walk it up but on some I could duck paddle while the clutch slipped me towards the top.
I sold my pc 50 in august 1973 for 50 pounds , great little bike , i owned it for nearly 2 years , battleship grey . Brand new 99 pounds . You seem to be going well over 30 mph . The official speed was i think 31 mph .
I’ve got a 1972 minter I’ve owned it 20 years they run much better the more you use them, also change the factory air filter, I had a brand new Bonny orange in 1974 £99.00 on the road, hills are a pain
my mum had a red honda PC50 when i was a boy, the registration was NAC118L she used it to go shopping untill she got a car , dvla sadly says its not on on the road anymore though.
This was my first 'motorbike' in 1975, bought it secondhand for $100, it was a disgusting shade of what might be charitably be called 'Hospital Green, I loathed it, but it did get me to work and back for a while. Maybe yours needs a service 'cause mine would go up quite steep hills, although at not much than walking pace.
great video- brings back many memories of mine when I was 16 - i couldn't quite hear - was it changing from 1st to 2nd gear? mine would go up a hill in 1st, then change to 2nd, slow down, then you'd start again in 1st .... repeat, repeat, repeat
Village town bike just the job, golden rule always gloves helmet at least jeans and arms covered on moped, probably keep you safe on these distances,as I told you I have 1973 pc50 k1 just love it for summer months, you seem to be nipping along nicely ha 😀🏍
Horse riders are another one who don't wear enough gear. Few condition their horses for road use. Go straight out Saw a lady today helmet shorts and t shirt. Just thought man if you come off that's about 5ft of velocity + whatever energy the horse gives you with the chance of it falling on you. Also apps calimoto and kurviger are the two big ones. Bit slow on the notifications when I tested it

Maybe I should put it on a dyno
Are you measuring that from the wheel or the peddle lol. 👍
