My favorite part of his routines. Long, long ago, serpentine footwork was a required element in skating programs, but they dropped it when everyone started focusing on bigger jumps. Scott, being older than most of his “rivals,” learned that type of footwork and it has remained a part of his routines.

I agree Kimberlie. Now it's quad jumps, glide and more jumps. No one entertained the way Scott did. I miss the Pro competitions but there isn't much of that on TV at all in years. And Scott and Kurt Browning had the fastest feet. I miss the "old days" of skating.
I totally agree. Skating used to be more graceful and artistic. Now it's becoming a quad jumping contest. It takes away from the beauty and artistry that is just as important.
It's all about gays. I love Scott's masculine style. He's like that prankster your daughter dated when she was 16. You loved him, but he was a bit of a rebel.

In this routine, he proved he could be more than the clown. Still the entertainer, always the entertainer, but this was a serious routine. And it was spectacular. Earlier in his career, he was criticized for not being able to do the triple jumps, so he practiced and clearly a few years later, he was routinely doing triples. The man is just an all around inspiration and crowd pleaser.

There will never be another men’s skater like Scotty. His personality goes right off the ice and he’s performing for you, brings you right into it with him. Like he said “ You don’t skate just for those people over there who didn’t pay to watch you. You skate for the ones who did.” I love him so dearly. This year his hour program before the 8 PM hour of Olympics was just a treasure each night.
That was really sexy. From the the very start to finish. Although i really love the introduction so much, i had to repeat a few times just the way the crowds applause began before he even flipped. Thats just fantastic.
Interesting how our male skaters of yesteryear, while fantastic, were much stiffer compared to todays male skaters. Scott H will forever be known as the king of the ice, but you have to admit, todays skaters are more flowing and flexible.
