I remember a friend of mine having a hot 350 HT Monaro that made about 350hp. Back in the days where you had to take the engine out of the car if you wanted to know what it made. Ran low 13's, that was seriously fast back in the mid 80's.

Thanks, Scott. Great story. I didn't know before about MotorTrend and the YT $5M. I suspect that probably also included some of their other shows like Roadkill Garage and Dirt Every Day. But yeah, I imagine they cost a lot to produce. Support crews and insurance. And they probably get the shitboxes thoroughly checked over before they get anywhere near a public road.
Roadkill Garage came later, but I believe Dirt Every Day was probably part of the 5 million deal. I don't think anyone checks the cars before they hit the road, though. I've seen a lot of them up close and personal on one of my US trips, and they are rough as hell. They make Carnage cars look like show pieces in comparison.
Great story Scotty. I bought most of those mags. Performance Street Car was my fav though. Less bling than Street Machine but more relatable to the average guy with an average looking car that wanted to go fast.
How about an episode sitting with Telf and/or Seddo talking about memorable stories from the past on Street Machine or other magazines? I think it would be fun to hear stuff yo guys got up to and interesting to hear what made it into your memory banks.

We all love you Scotty, you are a honest genuine person that brings a refreshing attitude to videos, started watching you doing the 13s for $1300. Carnage wouldn't be as good if it wasn't for you.
You are a genuine true blue Aussie mate and you have inspired a lot of people to give things a go. Doing things on a budget and still having fun gives those of us with little amounts of spare money to put into our passions that little bit of motivation. Keep it up please and thankyou.
Fantastic story, didnt realise how involved you have been in magazine's. Watched every carnage video, highlight of my week now double the scotty coming at us. How good!
I enjoyed this episode, I can’t normally sit through an hour video but you come across so genuine, I actually didn’t know you were so involved in the magazine industry. Hope Alex is travelling ok, can completely empathise will you on how hard having a sick/disabled child is on not only their lives but yours as well.
Thanks for sharing, Scotty. I had made good friends with the team at Street Fords (EP’s other side of the coin to Street Commodores) 15-20 years back and caught up with them every time they were in Victoria. They’d asked me at one point of I’d consider moving to Sydney to write or do video content for them- I was kind of glad that I declined after hearing about EP’s toxic work environment.
Scotty, thanks for the background video. I like the long format podcast type format, it means I can put the head phones in a either go for a walk or listen whilst I do other things, like work, with out having to look at the screen all the time. It would be great I you could do a few more and even interview/ talk shit with other like minded people. Scotty’s cars would be interesting. I’m one of seven boys and always joke that I should write a book called “cars my brothers have crashed” Keep up the good work.😊
Sounds like a great title. I've got to say that while the video seems popular with those who have watched it, I think the length might be putting people off because it's not getting as many views. That makes me hesitant to do many like this.
Well said Scotty. 13s for $1300 was my favourite tale. Being in the industry I know how much a Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle costs. Glad you could buy one after the fundraiser. Looking forward to your next vid..............
Good job Scotty. I went to school with Gonzo Travaglini from grade 5 to year 12. He speaks very highly of you. Keep up the good work on the channel…..!!
I remember on the back of street fords full back cover was Jim mock motorsport. Those guys were huge in the NA e series scene before the xr6 turbos started to get modified.
Don't worry about the trash Scotty, let it all roll I say. Keep telling your story coz you share well and you make it interesting with the information you chuck in like road kill. Good to hear what goes on behind the seens 👍
I got the V6 Handbook with a copy of Street Commodores, and i probably memorized that book because i had a VN V6 powered KE70 Wagon. Zoom was also a favorite mag

Amazing to hear how you have come about making content on cars and I am looking forward to seeing what this channel becomes in the years to come. Have loved some of the previous projects on streetmachine 👍
Thanks for the back story
Looking forward to the rebirth of the channel 👍🏻
Love your work Scotty
Great vid. You made me realise how old i really am. Keep up the vids and good luck.
Only just found your channel and love it and the honesty that's mate
@@richardmorris5921 thank you
Hey Scotty
Great story !!!
You have done some amazing things…
Hate to hear about the haters….
That’s part of being out there I guess
Just ignore the negativity and trolls

Cheers
Bloody good yarn 🍻
Your a legend mate, thanks for sharing your story 👍 looking forward to the vids ahead
Thanks 👍
Just subed on your channel looking forward to your story mate and your journey.
Thanks mate
Thanks mate, yeah people forget about the magazine stuff now that the interest and video seems to have taken over our lives.
I’m one of seven boys and always joke that I should write a book called “cars my brothers have crashed”
Keep up the good work.😊
Sounds like a great title.
That was a good watch.
Up here in England, it was interesting to hear about Aussie magazines and stuff.
Love these type of videos. Awesome, hearing the back story.
I’d love to hear the full story 🤙🏽
Great story, cheers mate
Outstanding old boy…😜
Good job Scotty.
I went to school with Gonzo Travaglini from grade 5 to year 12.
He speaks very highly of you.
Keep up the good work on the channel…..!!
Gonzo is a great guy

Wow 48k subs. How cool is that. Love the story.
Not bad seeing it was 42,000 about two weeks ago
I remember on the back of street fords full back cover was Jim mock motorsport. Those guys were huge in the NA e series scene before the xr6 turbos started to get modified.
The cars of Scotty! Bring it on!
i will buy one of those 6 pack mags
All sold sorry
Good video Scotty a great insight to your journey
Thank you
Don't worry about the trash Scotty, let it all roll I say. Keep telling your story coz you share well and you make it interesting with the information you chuck in like road kill. Good to hear what goes on behind the seens 👍
The Cars of Scotty - yes please.
I got the V6 Handbook with a copy of Street Commodores, and i probably memorized that book because i had a VN V6 powered KE70 Wagon. Zoom was also a favorite mag
