    I paint at home and the W400's are the first really good guns I have purchased. Prior to that I was using Chinese knock-offs with varying results.
    I will never forget how it felt to use the Iwatta the first time instead of a 30 dollar paint gun.
    Just everything seemed easier, flowed better, and I didn't even have to cut and buff the paint if I didn't want to.

    I use my w400 for primer with a 1.8 tip and gives amazing results. It has been used like this for countless jobs, and still sprays beautiful. I love it.

    Nice video! I have used the Devilbiss Gti pro and newer get used to it so I sold it and bought a W400 and like it alot.Not as goodlooking gun but it is lighter and applies paint smoother than the Gti pro.

      yes i have to agree mate the iwata w400 is so easy to setup for a super flat finish and a great gun for the money all day long but recently ive streered more towards the prolite for clear as ive just hit a groove with it and found it effortless to use

    I have found that the original w400 1.4mm nozzle opening measures about 1.3mm, while while the bellaria 1.4mm nozzle opening mesures 1.4mm. I have measured the original w400 1.3mm nozzle opening as well and it measures about 1.2mm. This may explain the slower flow of paint with the original w400 in 1.3mm, as it is really a 1.2mm nozzle. In the bellaria iwata has accurately labeled the nozzle size.

    The ongoing question - when repairing damaged/rusty parts what goes first on the bare metal? Anticorrosion primers or filler?

    • @TonysRefinishingTV
      @TonysRefinishingTV  3 года назад

      Epoxy is best then filler over that as the epoxy will seal the cleaned up metal from moisture not only from the usual places but also moisture and humidity in the air

      +Arianamarie Fernandez Thankyou for the very nice comments I just needed a break from things for abit but we have new videos up in the next few days , it's a very close battle between the prolite with t110 and the sata 5000 for clearcoat finish either of them are a great gun and tbh I'd recommend either of those if you had the budget go for the sata as it does lay so clean and flat but with budget in mind then I'd say unless you use your clear gun all day everyday then go for the prolite you can't fault it for price or finish

    Tried that ANI primer gun today mate, didn't want to put any thinners in it in case it upset the celly it was going over.
    It just spat bits of primer onto the car....wouldn't spray at all.
    Had to strip the gun down , clean it out , and remix whith 30% thinners .
    This primer is really thick out the tin, what do you recommend mate ? Is there a thinner 2k primer or shall I just put some thinners in ....seemed to spray ok with the thinners .

    • @TonysRefinishingTV
      @TonysRefinishingTV  3 года назад +1

      Just use with abit of thinner mate the ones that spray the real thick primers are like the sagolas I’ve got that are mega money for primer so it’s best just to add a tad of thinner

    hi Tony very good video.I have a complete interior including including full roll cage with many tubes to spray also engine bay and inside of boot compartment on the same car in 2k solid colour,having checked the colour on a spray out card it took 9 coats to get coverageThe colour is orange and very transparent.Ime a bit concerned about too much material build up with 9 coats to apply and runs occuring any ideas to save a world of pain. cheers

  • @davidparker9676

    Will the fade out thinners cause any long term paint defects? I know on blends that it will haze the area after several years in the sun.
    Do you get a chance to see your paint jobs as they age? I haven't seen the thinners used on a complete respray before. I like the idea of re-wetting the dry areas but I am concerned about long term effects (if any).
    Thanks in advance for any response.

    • @TonysRefinishingTV

      Not on this job it won’t as it’s all fresh paint and the safe out thinner is just basically a strong 2k thinner which the paint has in anyway

      The fluid nozzle on the w400 -LV is more akin to the LPH400...it has 3 “slits” ( best way to describe) rather than the 4 that the LPH400 nozzles have...it’s kind of like iwata RP (reduced pressure) version of and LPH. just a FYI...the LPH and w400 gun body is exactly the same ...you can swap out the air caps and nozzles and make totally different t guns..I have a Bellaria and a w400 but I really have a Bellaria, a w400-LV and aN LpH400 In a 1.4 and 1.3 by swapping out nozzles and air caps. +Martín Denez 2k fade out thinners , so if you have an area you end up with a dry edge because of how you have to paint getting to the other side of the vehicle and the wet edge has started to flash off so it leaves a slight dry patch you can use fade out thinner on those areas to active the dry and wet edges and melt them together

    What's the cost to have a mini done? Few coats of red base and few of clear?

    • @TonysRefinishingTV
      @TonysRefinishingTV  6 лет назад

      But of a longer question then that tbh there’s never a repaint that’s that simple , red base usually needs a lot more coats as it’s very transparent by nature and it would depends on the confirm of the car too

    • @tesstickle7267
      @tesstickle7267 6 лет назад

      Tonys_Refinishing well for the most part she's red already and will probably have a light coat of red or white to help with coverage prior to having around 2 coats of red.

    • @TonysRefinishingTV
      @TonysRefinishingTV  6 лет назад

      honestly id not repaint one even if part prepped for less than £1500

      Tonys_Refinishing sounds about right and pretty close to my budget ha want pisses me off the most is i have all the gear and the ability to paint just no where to do it haha guess that's part of what people pay for, the facilities, time,materials etc

    • @TonysRefinishingTV
      @TonysRefinishingTV  6 лет назад

      Yeah unfortunately that’s the main cost in this game really the tooling materials and the day to day expense of he shop too

    hello tony can you explain a bit more eg if i was to spray clear a light coat and then a heavy coat is it about distence from panel or being quick as i am new to al this

    • @mitchellferre1652
      @mitchellferre1652 5 лет назад

      Light coat vs heavy coat = same distance, move a bit slower or faster. Possibly have fluid adjustment wound more in or out too.

    is it ok to cut and polish direct gloss.
    I am unfortunate enough to have to spray outside. i have a few midge flies landed on paint. need to get them out.
    what do you recommend apart from doing it inside instead. 😂
    thanks. vids are helpful.

    • @TonysRefinishingTV
      @TonysRefinishingTV  5 лет назад

      Lol I’d recommend a good compound then mate and some wet flat lol , tbh if your painting outside or just under cover you run the risk of contamination either way , even in booths flies get in sometimes trust me lol, for direct gloss I’ve found 3m fast cut to be my personal favourite and yes it’s fine to flat and polish
