I finished college auditions this year (undergrad) and I found its also really important to know which things you'll pick if they ask what you want to play - v. different from professional auditions I'm sure

Mine weren't mock. Mine were real audition tapes that got denied. And I think at that moment in time, my unedited continuous tapes were the best of my capability at that instant in time. I have a live professional audition coming next week, and my play was to play the concerto expo and all excerpts sequentially for a live audience.

Last audition I did 4 mocks, too short time and I didn't start early enough unfortunately... I am curious about how much you travelled to make your 42 mocks? How many rooms and different percussion instruments you ended up using?
Thanks for this new webinar rob, not sure to make it tomorrow night but I will watch afterwards if I don't make it.
    Looking forward ;-)

I did 4. Thanks for creating a new unified train of thought in the young percussion world! It's so cool how widespread these ideas go. And how important they are.

its great idea , finding 42 different people over 6 weeks willing to listen to me is a problem , might get 7 or 8

All good advice but... how did you manage to have people to mock audition to for 42 days? Were they also preparing auditions and you listened to each other? Was this still within a college environment, or did you have to find a place (maybe rent?) for the auditions?

every day you think of a new person to play for! when i was in the middle of it, every day i'd play one and plan one for a week from today. you have to be resourceful - ask people who you don't know very well or who you aren't comfortable asking. ask friends, teachers, school administrators, teachers' friends, friends' teachers, people in colleges nearby whom you've never met. i would drive an hour away to play for someone if i had to. don't let this part stop you because someone else is doing it and they are gonna come to your audition more prepared than you!
