No matter how you pronounce ”Dauzat St. Marie” [though dō'-zaht sānt muh-ree’ would be accurate], the name has certainly been circulating far and wide these past several years through heavyweight touring with heavyweight artists. These two hardcore troubadours have been busy touring all over the U.S. as main support for Grammy® Award winning heartthrob Rick Springfield’s “Stripped Down” solo acoustic show series for the past four years and have peppered in dates with The Marshall Tucker Band, Lindsay Ell, Schuyler Fisk / Sissy Spacek, and Rick Derringer in between. I am from Mumbai, India. Last week I came across this song during one advert. I normally keep off from disturbing ads. But this one caught my ears. I being a musician myself became amazed. And that too from this lady Heather, herself was a breast cancer patient. Till date I might have listened this song at least 15 times and continue listening.

Common Ground was the first song I heard from Dauzat Saint Marie on RUclips and in one listen I loved it but the thing I didn't realize back then was you both put that whole atmospheric and magical set t ogether which I think is incredible. Unfortunately, touring brought in 95% of our music income, so this pandemic has been devastating financially. However, it has NOT broken our spirit and desire to keep the creative output going! We’ll get through this and will hit the road again as soon as it is safe to. Until then, we’ll continue to release singles and video and try to enjoy a little break from the road while we can. Hope you are doing well in all this craziness.

Each song happens differently. Some start with a guitar riff or progression, then vocal melody, then lyrics (this is most typical)... some start with a lyric idea and then music comes after.... some are a vocal melody that inspires the music.... some songs even come to us all at once (this is kinda rare).
