I'm 100% on Lovitz's side with this. Andy Dick may not have been directly responsible for Phil Hartman's death, but he'd definitely provoked Jon about it several times before this event. Dick had it coming.
@@Shifty51991 That's so attenuated. It probably wouldn't even meet standards of negligence in a civil court case. Andy couldn't have foreseen Phil Harman's death based on what he did. That doesn't mean that Andy Dick isn't a pile of human crap, however. Because he is.
For more backstory: Hartman's wife had been clean off drugs for a while and Andy pushed her off the wagon. There's a story that gets repeated a lot that after Hartman was murdered Lovitz confronted him and sucker punched him after Andy started laughing about it.
It wasn't a sucker punch, he demanded Andy to apologize after he came to Lovitz, out of nowhere on a restaurant, and starts joking about Phil's murder, Andy kept laughing and joked about how he, Jon, was the next to die. So Jon grabbed him and smashed his head against the bar.
Andy also told Jon on the set of Newsradio, that Jon shouldn’t be there and Jon told him something along the lines of “I wouldn’t be here if someone hadn’t sold someone’s wife (Mary Hartman) cocaine that led to his demise”.
Phil Hartman was THE best SNL cast member of all time. We really got robbed when his P is for Psycho wife killed him. Andy Dick should bare some of the blame for Phil’s death
I heard about them fighting relating to Phil, but I didn't know how it got started. That's wild. Andy Dick is persona non grata everywhere he goes. The only time I ever hear about him is when he's getting knocked out for fucking with people
He was in the music video for Jessica Simpson's A Public Affair as a roller skating derby clerk who licks a roller skate and actually imagines himself having a threeway with Jessica and Christina Milian. Keep in mind that video was shot and released in 2006 and I wonder if anyone possibly had to fight him if he ever got weird on set there
Lawd! I got a Andy Dick story too! I met him last year...he was cradled fetal position in a bath tub...and that was not even the craziest part of the night. 😂😩😭
andy dick once barged into our random high school senior party uninvited in 2010 in southern california. We live nowhere really near him. He wanted shots. "Someone" left coke residue on a magazine page of hayden panettiere in the bathroom.
Let's be fair hearing both sides to the story of Andy Dick and Hartman's wife. Andy when he was at a party with Phil & Wife, Andy has stated, he never knew Phil's Wife was struggling with addiction back then. Andy & John Lovitz at some point in the past years had a talk to clarify the past.
Even then how is it going to be a shock when giving someone coke at a party results in them doing something drastic. I don't think we need to normalize the passing of cocaine it's a drug that can mess the FUCK outta someone. If it was WEED sure whatever but you really gonna expect me to believe this is the ONLY time someone killed someone else because someone thought it was a safe idea to offer them cocaine???
I was at a comedy festival when I was 16 and it was open bar I was drinking Heineken and Andy points to me and says loudly “hey you’re not old enough to drink”
This story is much more gnarly than godfrey conveys here. She shot him in his sleep. Three times: in the head, throat and chest. And then shot herself in the head. And they had two little kids. He didn't want to leave her despite her drug and alcohol problems for the sake of the kids. What the fuck...
@@stealthyBLK I mean yes corny maybe but I can deal with that for a Co-host. It's the exaggerated , attention seeking reactions that get on my nerves ever since he got comfortable.
My wife and her friend lived below Andy Dick in an apartment just outside LA. Apparently he would have boy toys around all the time, always soumded like bodies were hitting the floor above them. He invited them to a party at his place and smoked a joint with him. Cool asf lol
I didn't know this. At first I thought this was about when drunken Andy Dick got all up in Lovitz's face on the set of News Radio and told john that he was next to die or something like that.
Andy Dick in no way pushed drugs onto Hartman's wife. She made a decision to do drugs and acquired them from someone she knew would likely have them or could direct them to someone who sells. It doesn't matter how much temptation is put in front of someone. You are responsible for your own decisions.
I'm 100% on Lovitz's side with this. Andy Dick may not have been directly responsible for Phil Hartman's death, but he'd definitely provoked Jon about it several times before this event. Dick had it coming.
Andy got Jon's wife back onto drugs which lead to the murder suicide how more responsible do you want?

RIP Phil Hartmann. Miss him all the time💙💙
And I’m glad Jon is still kicking his ass years later. Real bro.

😯
Doesn’t sound so much of a sucker punch as retribution.
Fuck Andy Dick, good for Jon. I always liked Jon Lovitz, I never liked Andy Dick
And here, I thought Phil Hartman was still living. I didn't know he was killed. It wasn't even on the news at all.
Hartman was the GOAT on the Simpsons
No one ever talks about his voice over on the Simpson. Which not right
So sad
Same with Marcia Wallace
Andy also told Jon on the set of Newsradio, that Jon shouldn’t be there and Jon told him something along the lines of “I wouldn’t be here if someone hadn’t sold someone’s wife (Mary Hartman) cocaine that led to his demise”.
Hartman man....raw talent! Gone too soon!
RIP Hartman and Farley, legends
Man, at this point, punching Andy Dick for no reason should be a human right.
Godfree got them stories man👍👍
Godfrey's impressions are superb! Also, keep Andy Dick away from everyone in LA
nah introduce Andy to Kanye West
Any half decent Jon Lovitz impression is worth its weight in gold.
Phil Hartman was THE best SNL cast member of all time. We really got robbed when his P is for Psycho wife killed him. Andy Dick should bare some of the blame for Phil’s death
Andy is a creep. I miss Phil.

Great story mates!
That's crazy. I've been watching News Radio alot lately. I had no idea all of this was going on
holy shit. i got up to get something in my kitchen when Godfrey started doing his Lovitz impression. that shit was spot fucking on LOL
I love Godfrey's t-shirts!!
Andy Dick vs. Jon Lovitz is like picturing Rick Sanchez vs The Critic
*IT STINKS*
Hell no, it's Roger the Alien as a human vs The Critic.
If Andy Dick had half of Rick's intelligence, we would die.
Pickle Dick!!
Good Ol Phil...r.i.p...Troy McClure
Andre laughs like Jimmy Fallon. Not the sound but the effort.
Lawd! I got a Andy Dick story too! I met him last year...he was cradled fetal position in a bath tub...and that was not even the craziest part of the night. 😂😩😭

@2:30 was the PERFECT Lovitz lmao
Is this guy the guy in Zoolander who played a black version of Ben Stiller when they went under disguise?
yes
Andy is the junior in high school that has learnt what trolling is but hasn’t moved to but where people laugh instead of punching him.
A+ impression.
His impersonations are amazing
His wife was jealous of his undeniable talent.
Nah he made a joke about his dead best friend.
awesome story. Lovitz after all these years is still bitter over Hartman
The impressions were spot on! Hilarious
OMG, Godfrey is hilarious but Phil's story is heartbreaking
Phil Hartman was my dude!! She killed herself AFTER she killed him.
I liked Phil allot

Lovitz was a real one for doing that

Godfrey big snicthin on this one lmao
Everybody knows this story especially in Hollywood.
That's a pretty well known story. Lovitz and Andy had a few confrontations. It's a really sad story.
