Scooter , Patty ..Justin’s mom and Usher are GARBAGE!! Insider here ..THEY HUNTED on the internet to find a mom willing to sell their kid to the industry ..THEY FOUND ONE! It’s why PATTY signed over her rights to Justin and the EXHILED HER to HAWAII with MILLIONS and an agreement and would not interfere . It’s why she never spoke up when just got in trouble. Then SCOOTER AND USHER worked Justin like a dog with multiple world tours and no time off..remember when Justin performed so sick on stage he was throwing up ..he had THE FLU. Then they pumped him out to Hollywood putting Justin in way to adult situations . When people started complaining about Justin having no friends his own age or relationships ..they set him up with Selena and a few guys own age to look like he has friends . Next look at Ryan secret digi tour and what happen to those kids on that tour …parents who signed over their kids ..who ended up at adult partys to the Hollywood elite while their parents stayed home with the money .

I literally drove Justin and his Mom home from his going away party in Stratford when he left to go and make his first song with Usher and the clan, I asked her how she felt about this and I can tell you right now that she was worried from the very very beginning, Justin was the absolute greatest kid people, so innocent and so polite. I am so so proud of this kid for the way he carries himself now, it is no wonder he ended up doing drugs and being a wild teenager, he was definitely not headed in that type of direction, definitely not.

If she was so worried then why did she let him go? He was a baby. She had the authority, she was the parent and she was able to tell him no. She got greedy. She saw the money coming in, the nice cars, nice houses, what their life can be financially and she got greedy and gave up her son to these monsters these devils. She left her son to fend for himself, and so he turned to drugs. As a mom myself, I could never hand over my 13-year-old son to a grown man and then that grown man turns over my son to another grown man who’s even older and has the worst reputation. It’s hard to defend among or dad who does that with there child.

"Walk a mile in my shoes" and "Judge not, lest you be judged" come to mind.
You know you are telling us more about yourself than about his Mother? 👈
Looking at them on a Soul level, part of their mission for being here now, may be to help bring down what has been done to countless of innocent Souls.

I routinely watch you to get the real news regarding current events and issues. The Bible talks about how in our youth we see deemly, but as we age we begin to see more clearly. I’m experiencing such a renaissance in my life. Some people call the wisdom. I’m sure I won’t be around to see you mature (age), but I’m willing to bet that you are going to be one powerful woman. Was prescribed them for months and months. When my GP stopped my prescription I took to the streets to buy them. After 6 long years of struggle and pain I finally walked away from them. I thought we were supposed to admit we were addicts before we could change. I can’t believe it’s now being taught.

Candace I'm an addict in recovery (5 years in 2 weeks) was a psych and detox RN , now I'm in my masters for addiction therapy- the state of colorado doesn't want to use "addict" or even "substance use disorder" as it's "stigmatizing" and relabel it "compulsive patterns syndrome"
    .....
The only way you get clean is by KNOWING you are an addict, and admitting it.
Benzo dependency is the same thing as addiction. And it is very quick too, and Peterson as smart as he is KNOWS this too. The stats on benzo's have been out for decades.
There's no shame, he should own it. Empower others to get clean too. "Look at the stupid things I said, this is why you should get clean"
Could be an inspiring message and sadly he's not doing the 1 thing you need to do in recovery: have radical accountability

    • @nathankashmer1614
      @nathankashmer1614 6 часов назад +18

They want to not shoot for abstinence but just "using 3 times a week or something" ....
And Benzo's are WAY harder to get prescribed since 2013's-2014's? So there is a very high chance someone would turn to a street drug (or buying fake pressed bars laced with fentanyl and overdosing) because the withdrawal makes you incredibly anxious ... and now you already know how to "fix it" with a med. 🎉

That’s Exactly what an addiction is, a dependence on a drug! My father & brother(both doctors) and myself were all addicted to pain medications for legitimate diagnoses, but that did not mean we were not addicts! She sounded absurd and yes, pompous. The intentions are NOT. It's like a guy who drugs a girl's drink, rapes her and tells all their friends they are a couple because they had sex. Yes...there was sex. But did the girl have a choice after being drugged and raped??? Nope! That's the point everyone seems to be missing.

When people think of an addict, one of the first things that comes to mind is one who is seeking a dopamine dump or hit. Most people who are prescribed benzos are seeking to neutralize their anxiety, panic attacks, muscle spasms, insomnia and other uncomfortable symptoms they are suffering from. They are not looking to be prescribed a medication that will induce a pleasurable, euphoric experience like most if not all street drug addicts are chasing.
The dependency aspect comes from when one is attempting to wean or quit the pharmaceutical drug and experiences uncomfortable physical withdrawal symptoms. This is the same experience one goes through when weaning or quitting street drugs.
A crack head is initially seeking a dopamine hit. Builds a tolerance and succumbs addiction. Someone who is prescribed benzos can be the average person who is seeking a way to suppress their uncomfortable symptoms I stated earlier. And their physician has only one solution.
Benzos and crack both cause dependency, but only one causes addiction.

When u don't have the drug ur body is addicted to, due to ur dependence to that drug, u will do things u never thought u would do, to stop that withdrawal symptoms, and yes that includes taking other drugs to assist in masking the withdrawal. As someone who works in the field and someone who was a benzo addict, benzos are different from any other psych med the way that oxycodone or morphine are different from other pain meds like Tylenol. Benzo withdrawal doesn’t just affect your state of mind, it can cause seizures and go days or weeks without eating or sleeping. There’s a fine line between dependence and addiction and anyone on benzos for a period of time is physically addicted, their body is physically addicted to that drug. Coming off an antidepressant can cause depression and some anxiety but that’s the worst of it. Coming off benzos can literally make you feel like you’re losing your mind.

Recovering drug addict and alcoholic here🙋🏻‍♂️ I see what Jordan is trying to say, by saying he was Benzo “dependent” he means he didn’t abuse it, but he took it everyday. Take it from someone who has been on Xanax, and other drugs (street) and abused alcohol - needing something everyday, means you’re addicted, i don’t care if it’s the same amount everyday. Saying “dependent” is disingenuous, you don’t “depend” on Xanax like you depend on an inhaler, or heart medication. I think Jordan is brilliant, but I don’t understand why his daughter is on Piers Morgan. I never got on the Mikhaila Peterson boat, never understood why her father’s fame should make her impressive, or qualified on anything. Good for her though 🤷🏻‍♂️

I just don't agree with this. I used to take anxiety meds, Zoloft. I took it daily as I am prescribed. If I miss couple of days, i get the withdraw symptoms as it is an SSRI drug and your brain becomes chemically "dependant" on it. That is why you need to tapper off of these drugs the correct way.
What makes this different than an addiction would be that after I tapered off of the medication, I didnt feel i NEEDED the medication, I didn't have the need to go back to this perscription, this didn't get me high, I wasn't feigning for it. I went on with my life. I didn't have to go to therapy help fix my addiction to zoloft. Makes no sense.

It wasn’t just chemical, he was getting a nice buzz. He’s a psychologist he knew he could get addicted to them, there’s no addiction risk with Prozac or Zoloft. The word “addiction” has been used derogatorily in recent decades, but at its core it still retains its original meaning. Acknowledgment of such is only offensive to her because she is approaching the subject from a purely emotional standpoint. We can’t keep manipulating language to suit our own feelings. Facts remain facts regardless of how we feel about them.

Also benzos are “acceptable” and the stigma is less and there are legit reasons to take them (preferably not every day to avoid dependency), so unless you can admit that an addiction is an addiction whether it’s benzos or heroin or porn etc. then you prob won’t stay clean because you won’t think you have a problem

Then when I finally stopped the 2mg, I had the typical flu like symptoms, cold chills yawning constantly, eyes watering etc. for a week, but by far the worst symptoms were the diarrhea and insomnia. The insomnia lasted 2 weeks, I was prescribed everything to help me sleep and the only thing that worked was Ambien. The Diarrhea lasted a little over a month! About a month and half. Candace - I have Primary Restless Leg Syndrome and have had it since I was 10yrs old. I am dependent on a synthetic opioid to control my legs and now my arms as it gets worse with age and can move to other limbs. Primary means it was inherited from a parent. I inherited it from my father. He was undiagnosed and self medicated until his death from a drug overdose. I don’t drink, smoke nor have I done any other drugs. However, without this medication I would have jumped from a very tall building long ago. The difference between dependence and addiction is that I’m dependent on a drug that removes the infuriating creepy crawly feeling under my skin that forces me to constantly move my legs and arms for relief. It makes it impossible to sleep without medication. I’ve tried sleeping standing up many times…it’s not possible. You can NOT live without sleep. I’m dependent on a drug for something that I cannot control. I am not a drug addict. There is a difference.

Candice I did something today I've never done before. I listen to the entire hearing for Pete Hegseth. What an exhausting experience in smear campaigning that was. I did not see one Democrat on that bench that I would vote for! They either smeared him or tried to put him in a box with his answers of yes or no, so that they could blackmail him with it later. I think that you are the only one that can present a fair report on those in Congress and the house! I think we got to make this fair, and put everybody skeletons out on the table, so that we can get rid of this nonsense that I watched today! I feel that 50% of it was a waste of the American people's money, and people like me that wanted to watch, a waste of my time! I can see how these hearings could be beneficial for the American people, but to listen to smears for half of that time was ridiculous! There's only one game that I will play on my phone, because I won't pay for it, and I spend more time listening to commercials to get points in order to play. That is how I felt about listening to this hearing today. I spent more time listening to garbage then I did listening to meaningful conversation. Please please please consider looking into skeletons. Once everybody skeletons are out on the table, then maybe we can get down to business.

I agree with your cycle of abuse comment but I don’t believe in not calling out the abusers. People who are abused aren’t forced to do the same to others. It’s a choice, just like any crime. In my opinion, the whole thing needs to be blown open and everyone needs to see what’s actually happening, especially in Hollywood, where so many of the youths are idolizing these people and consuming their products which has an effect on their psyche as well. Plus it will bring awareness to this cycle of the abused becoming the abuser, and those abused become abusers, and so on. So many parents don’t know how to recognize this pattern. We need to normalize having these conversations since it’s so prevalent in society as a whole.

There is no difference between addiction and dependence. Dependence is the direct cause of addiction. I’m a recovering heroin and benzo addict, have been for almost 7 years now and I’ve thought deeply about this. Funnily enough I am now trying to get off the Suboxone and Gabapentin that my rehabs put me on. Yes, they helped me but I feel I was lied to by multiple medical professionals when I was told they were not addicting when I asked. When I asked I was implying “am I going to be sick mentally & physically when I eventually want to come off these” and they told me no. Actually Gabapentin was called a “miracle drug” less than 10 years ago by my doctors and everywhere on the internet. Had I known what I know now I would of never have gotten on these meds. They use this dependence term to avoid being sued by the millions of people they told these drugs weren’t addicting too. Too bad Jordan’s daughter hasn’t seen this yet. Don’t trust doctors. Eat healthy, meditate, exercise, take vitamins and learn as much as you can about herbs and holistic healing like Ayurveda etc.

First of all Jordan Peterson has a doctorate correct. I was prescribed an unlimited supply of oxycodone when I went through a major surgery I chose to take myself off because I knew the long-term ramification and I had to take care of a one year-old child at the same tim. The pain that I suffered from upper and lower Jaw surgery was beyond anything you can imagine.. I fell asleep crying in pain many times. I spent eight days in the hospital because of the surgery and I don’t have the educational background that Mr. Peterson had. Yet I went against my own doctors orders because I knew what it was gonna do to my kidneys and liver in the long run let alone that it was an addictive drug. So did he not read the insert that usually comes with these meds that they give you and that they usually consult with you when you pick up your meds with the pharmacist.

  • @lortab10

So, as a nurse here, to help you understand a bit ....dependence really doesnt mean addiction every time. The 2 words have been used interchangeably a lot in the past by addiction centers, ERs, medical centers and psych wards, and usually medical people know which is which, and which isnt! Ms. Peterson has a point, but not in her favor because she didnt explain it very well to the audience. With addiction, the patient wants to take the drug, because their brain is telling them they need the drug to get that dopamine to be happy again. They physically, mentally and emotionally crave the med. If they are recovering long enough and the physical and emotional cravings have subsided, they will still have a mental craving. theres always gonna be a little piece of their brain reminding them they want the drug, so its a mental fight to stay clean every day. With the type of dependence she mentioned, there is a totally diff physiological process in play. The patients may have been put on the med for short term because of a manic episode. They dont want to take the med, & they arent addicted to the med in the sense that they crave taking it. However, if they stop taking it all of a sudden, (the usual reason is because they dont want to take it anymore because it makes them feel bad), it can cause severe physiological problems, like electrolyte imbalances in their brain that can put them in a coma, & if not caught right away can cause brain damage or death. It can cause them to feel like absolute crap, with flu like symptoms, dizziness, headaches, etc. Other sudden stop issues can cause kidney or adrenal crises, possible liver enzyme elevation, pancreatitis, maybe vomiting and other serious issues ive not heard about yet. Im not a psych nurse but i deal with neurological disorders and brain tumors. If you dont understand the physiological crises of drug dependence due to these meds, then it does sound a lot like addiction, except the mental craving to take the meds is not there, so its not a mental battle for the person to stop them. An example of non-narcotic medication dependence is when a person takes an oral steroid. It has to be tapered off because your adrenal glands could go into crisis mode. There are a couple handfuls of anti-depressants (non-narcotic) and non benzo psych meds that have to be tapered off slowly because your body could hurt or kill you if you dont taper, like the steroids i mentioned. I do believe you said the right thing to Ms. Peterson, because Dr. Peterson said he had benzo dependency issues, which admittedly sounds more like a description of addiction (imho). You are both right, but she didnt explain her argument well enough to make sense, so you are more right because of the nuance of the situation. I just wanted to let you know there is a very important difference in the 2 words that can be very tricky when making an argument. I love your show and watch you everyday!

Genuine question not trying to argue for arguments sake. If a meth, crack, LSD, or fentanyl addict is considered an addict because they have to have the drug to cope and function in their day to day lives. Why aren't people that after years of taking prescription medications who can't stop, not only for the health complications, but because said drug helps them cope and function in their day to day lives? You can die from alcohol withdrawals. Alcohol is one of the worst withdrawal processes. So to say that it's a dependency because you have to taper them off sounds disingenuous at best. People that are addicted to street drugs also have to go through a detox protocol because stopping cold turkey can be very dangerous as well it isn't just benzos or other opiates.

      @nataliesanches3449 4 часа назад +6

As someone who HAS suffered with both addiction, AND dependency issues, you are 100% correct in your explanation. For example, I'm 39 years old now but I began having foot surgeries at age 12. Since then, I've had roughly 15 foot surgeries (both feet due to a defect in how my bones grew), 2 hip surgeries ( bone grafts to place in my feet for fusion), 2 MAJOR back surgeries (3 spinal cord stimulators), 1 knee surgery, and a hysterectomy. I'm currently in need of a fusion and decompression surgery in at least 2 disc's in my neck, but I'm trying to put filter off for as long as possible. I have Complex Regional Pain Syndrome in both legs and arms (which is rare to have it in so many places and if you don't know what the disorder is, look it up - it's devastating). I have arthritis and bone spurs in my feet, knees, hips, facet joints (low back), mid and upper back, shoulders, and hands.
From a young age I was placed on narcotic pain medications, and when my mother informed my doctor that I had a family history of addiction, my doctors assured her that there was minimal risk. While these medications admittedly allowed me to live an active life, they were also slowly killing me. I had to take stronger and stronger medications, until I was eventually prescribed Fent@nyl patches. Eventually, that wasn't enough, and I went to the streets, which evolved into a full-blown H addiction. Fortunately, I made it out and have been off of it for over 10 years now and while I have had to take narcotics for short periods of time over the years due to various operations, I haven't gone back. THAT IS A DESCRIPTION OF ADDICTION.
Additionally, I've suffered with extremely serious treatment-resistant depression throughout my entire life for as long as I can remember. I've been on every medication under the sun, I've been a part of testing new medications that aren't available yet, I've done ECT (Electroconvulsive Therapy, or "shock therapy"), I've seen specialists and therapists galore, and at the end of the day nothing helps. I've made multiple attempts to unalive myself; the first at age 12. At one point about a year and a half ago, I was taking upwards of 30 pills a day in an effort to combat both my mental and physical pain. The medications are heavy hitters, and admittedly, I do still take Lyrica to help with my pain. With that said, I've been tapering my medications for about a year now, with the ultimate goal being that I'm off all prescription medications. I'm currently down to taking only 3 prescription medications. I'm tapering off my medications bc I do NOT want to be on them anymore; I want my body to have a "fresh start", so I'm can see what all medications I might ACTUALLY NEED. If I taper too quickly, I feel awful. THIS IS PHYSICAL DEPENDENCE.

Benzo withdrawal is dangerous. Also, Jordan sought higher doses to deal with the stress during his wife's cancer, and he should have known withdrawal must be made with care. These things can both be true at the same time. Jordan made two choices, in which the term "behavior" is implicit: seeking higher doses and stopping cold turkey just because they weren't working as well anymore.
A silver lining is that it brought attention to benzo withdrawal, but it doesn't make his options any less misguided.

I had to taper because my body became dependent and there would be withdrawal symptoms if I didnt taper but I was not addicted. What the girl was trying to get across was people are put on meds not realizing you can become physically dependent and have to go through withdrawals if you try to get off. That does not make them addicted.

Explain further. What pattern of use determines addiction and what pattern determines dependency? What effects does an addiction have on a person’s brain/behavior vs a dependency? I’ll go pop my popcorn.

I’ve loved JP! Those tweets were ridiculous! As nurse who worked at a Methadone clinic. Rx’s are usually where addiction starts in a lot of cases. She loves her Dad. But I see nothing wrong with what you said.

3rd year US Med student - this example should illustrate dependence vs addiction. When a mother is on opiates while pregnant - the baby will become dependent on them - meaning, when delivered he will experience symptoms of an opiate withdrawal because no longer getting opiates in system from mom. For severe cases, they will give the baby morphine. This is called neonatal abstinence syndrome and shows that dependency is a real thing in the child. More difficult to splice when an adult - because one could say they’re dependent in order to get more of the drug - when really they’re just addicted. I understand what Candace is saying but Mikhaila does have a fair point.

So the baby was born addicted to opiates? If the hospital is having to give the infant drugs to help with withdrawal, thereby, following a detox/rehab protocols that means that that infant can't be without the opiates to function and feel normal. I understand that it obviously isn't the infant's fault because it can't control what it's mother was ingesting, but that doesn't change that the poor child was born with an addiction and this is more prone to developing an addiction later in life. Being dependent on a substance that's not completely necessary for survival is an addiction. This also applies to things other than drugs but if you have to have something to function as normal then more than more than likely it's an addiction. It just sounds better and nicer to say dependency rather than calling a spade a spade.

@@maggiehernandez7215 the word addicted has a psychological connotation - the addicted person needs more of the same drug to get the same dopamine hit. The dependent person - or baby in this matter - has a physiological connotation in which actual physical symptoms are precipitated without the drug

Remember when Jordan Peterson said that an all-meat diet cured his mental illness...then it turned out he was addicted to benzos? THAT was manipulative & the lies were why he lost fans. IDK how you stay so calm when talking to Mikhaila seems extremely challenging.

Hey Candace! Love your work but I have to agree that you dont understand where the Petersons are coming from when they were sharing their drug dependency. Have you done a deep dive into their health issues and the drugs that were prescribed to them hence the dependency? It’s not an addiction per se since they were prescribed the drugs. It’s not like they went to the streets to get drugs to get high. The language matters here cause it may seem like you are lumping them with drug addicts on the streets who steal, harm and kill for drugs.
Some empathy and kindness for Dr Peterson when he shared how tough it was would have been nice. You kinda gave holier than thou vibes.
Anyways, you can’t always be right about everything and maybe you should have a conversation with Dr Peterson bout big Pharma and psych meds?
God bless you and your family. May the Lord protect you always.

If it’s a psych med needed to help control a behavior or a mood, if you suddenly stop the meds, the side effects are severe and can kill someone. Which in turn makes people with psych issues to be dependent on the medication. If they stop taking it suddenly death can occur.
Being addicted would be someone can’t stop taking the medication due to a craving or an urge, but perhaps it is in their control to stop without the terrible side effects on the brain/ mental psyche.

Candace im 30 and its just crazy how you remind me so much of myself the way you think is so similar to me, your very straight up, honest and focus on researching the real truth and speaking it aswell. Even if i dont know you i see you as another human being who loves God like me and i am so happy to know i could always come here and listen to another person who doesnt lack common sense or has a big ego. Thank you very much for leaving the daily wire they never deserved you and you were way ahead of them when it came to actually showing morals towards all groups of people and not picking and choosing but actually seeing all humans as one and evil humans as another. We don't always have to agree with everything as humans but that doesn't mean we have the right to show hate or commit genocides.
