The Affordable Care Act authorized payment to hospitals to detox drug addicts in-patient for up to 180 days a year per individual. The hospitals refuse to hospitalize and detox addicts/alcoholics. Why does the State not require hospitals to offer in-patient detox? The hospitals are key to reduced drug addiction and they are NOT doing their job! These hospitals do not want to be bothered with addicts. It is very difficult for addicts to get the medical help they need when they need it.
