I was 8 years old that season. This is a wonderful slice of nostalgia. So much to enjoy in this video. The crowds seemed to be louder back then with a more electric atmosphere at games. Also, those old crunching tackles are priceless.
Great times, the mid 80’s to early 90’s (93), were the Golden era for me. When footballers played for the love of the game and not the wads of cash nowadays
ya know what you aint far wrong with that statement. pinnacle of english domestic football right here. the stadia (half terrace/seating), the strips, the relatable british players and managers, still a working class game with an edge
@@NielDickinson end of the day, the numbers don't lie. the pitches were shit, they players were technically poor and physically resembled darts players. the back pass rule slowed games to a crawl. graham taylor and john beck were seen as tactically cutting edge. attendances were low, viewing figures beaten by snooker finals. drab drab drab
@@alansouthall8221of course the numbers are up and the players are richer than ever. It's called geopolitical globalisation, Murdoch's SKY sold your 'modern' game out. Enjoy it while it lasts.
Many, many thanks for the vintage footage, I'm kind of overwhelmed with nostalgia... at how tasteless, outdated and low-budget everything used to be in English football back then. 15:25 - what the goal is supposed to look like!!! Some absolutely atrocious net suspension in England back in the day, just downright disgraceful. Some lovely goals though, in amongst the scrappy ones - and the occasional decent looking dude surrounded mostly by hideous folk: when l think of the Liverpool team of 30-31 years ago, I can't help but cringe a little; John Barnes is the only one there that even looks human! Dean Saunders, David Burrows, Mark Walters, Bruce Grobelar, Ray Houghton - bunch of guys that would look better with a gas mask, but seriously! Don't bother getting an outfit on Halloween, you're just fine as you are! Oh - and Anfield had the worst combination of sag-shit cheap red nets and ugly, antiquated stanchions in the entire league as well. Highbury kind of looked decent, most of the rest of the grounds look sickeningly unaesthetic.

Best video on RUclips. Transported back to being 13-14 years old again ❤
NINE Hours!!!! Thank you so much. Great time for English football and some brilliant goals here
I’m guessing it’s goals from every game
Love the nostalgia of this channel, but I'm glad we've moved on
Awesome season and memories. Last season before Sky.
Before sky killed it all
Like finishing a really long novel! Cheers for this. Sheffield United staging their own goal of the season competition (Leeds match aside!).
Great video........... thanks for the upload........... my whole childhood comes flooding back watching these clips........... classic =D
Fantastic video
precious archive
The days of proper football
this is brilliant! how did you retrieve the footage?? :)
This is real football, not today's commercial brand that's the "Premier League" at least we still have the EFL for now
So Strange to see defenders taking PKs was still normal back then.....
Very good. But where’s the Palace if this is 91/92?
Have you bothered to watch it?
When football was better. A lot better.
The level here is pretty terrible to be honest.
Football was miserable in England around this time
Not for me. I prefer this to football now.
@@NielDickinson I grew up on 80s football.
This channel is wonderful for nostalgia.
But the standard of play is terrible compared to today's game

English game should have stuck to number of non english players in team

And no tattooed arms necks and other body parts in sight
Standard of goal keeping was so bad.
Don't even bother watching football anymore. its so so boring
