You are correct. Each time the player opens a chest or crafts an item, the power of the items they get is determined by the average power level of the most powerful items they have found in chests in every item slot. So opening a few chest then crafting what your lowest item is to bring it more in line with the others is the way to go.
Now i know this guide is a year old but one thing you could have mentioned is the button that looks like a gear beside every equipment you're using, that works as a short cut quality of life thing for crafting, upgrading and checking what traits and properties that you can get when rolling. I personally learned about that after 500 hours of playing a friend told me about it xD Aside from that pretty solid guide for beginners. Would definitely send it to newer players
Yes*. The item trait will remain the same, and the only change to properties is they will improve to their highest tier. For example: an axe with swift slaying, 15% crit damage, and 3% crit chance will(when upgraded to red) have swift slaying, 20% crit damage, and 5% crit chance. If the orange item already has the highest tier properties it can get there will be no change(as a reminder orange weapons will not guarantee max properties if you re-roll the properties while red items will.) TLDR: Yes. The best kind of yes. Hope this helps.
'H' key is a useful shortcut for hero selection. Also remember, that you can pick the order of your bots and their carrers, which will decide, which one will spawn. The bots keep the same skills and inventory as you after you played with them. So leveling up all the heroes can be quite useful, as bots don't play so bad.
Hi, i have a necromancer and Winds of magic. My weapons are 300 and i would upgrade to red. I can do it for all weapons but i am not finding the flail in listing (i find scythe reaper ) for upgrade, i find it to change properties but not for the upgrade, any idea ? Thanks
I apologize for the delayed response! The issue you are encountering can be fixed by simply unequipping the problem weapon(or item) from all careers that have it equipped. Once it is unequipped it should appear in the upgrade section. I hope this helps. :)
@@ratman_horatio I thought that too but my other wizards are with sword. I just find solution, i give it to all and your chanel. I created an other (green) and an other orange and this time this last was in my listing an was ok for upgrade. ^^ thank you.
@@marcx2005 Are you entirely certain that you have un-equipped the item in question from all careers *and* load-outs that use it? If that is the case you may have encountered a bug I have never heard of. Sorry I was unable to fix you're issue, and am unable to provide any additional advice.
Habit mostly for you see there have been several changes to the chests system over the years. As of the recording and release of this video each time the player opened a chest or crafted an item, the power of the item they got was determined by the average power level of the most powerful items they have found in chests in every item slot. So opening a few chest then crafting what your lowest item was to bring it more in line with the others was the way to go for "hero power" leveling. Atleast that is how it "was" now it is more streamlined(or so I have been led to believe as I am unable/unwilling to test it myself).
Very informative, I appreciate the 3440 by 1440 video, not often do I get to view youtube in full screen on my monitor. I just got into the game this weekend and this video explains allot.
Character and Environment texture quality are set to high, Anti-Aliasing is set to TAA, and everything else is set to lowest or off. I also have AMD FSR 1.0 set to ultra quality. Hope this helps.
Fairly sure this operates off of seen hero power, and not equipped. That being said I can’t resist always equipping between crafts/chests lol

Thanks, i'm playing this game in 2023, it's fun
That is wonderful
Same here!
Same I’m here In 2024 after being annoyed with darktide and the crafting in this game is confining for me. But this guide helped a tonne
Best straightforward explanation of the basics on RUclips for a new player . Even explained the weird crafting system excellently. Well done
Thanks a lot bro. I bought the game yesterday and I´m planning to play it with my brother.
That was very helpful, thank you. Answered all my questions!
Very informative for newbies
If I upgrade my item to red rarity, do the properties and the trait persist? I sadly can't find an answer anywhere without trying it out myself.

Thanks for the quick answer! Guess I can reroll my orange items for properties without "wasting" too many ressources then. @@ratman_horatio

they definitely play way better than some of the randoms.
Very good video, thank you so much!
Cheers for the video. Was very helpful!
Thx for this video, I learn a lot of thing about the game 😉
I am glad to be of assistance.
Thanks for the video. I now understand things much better!
I came for the info but stayed for the voice

@@ratman_horatio Yes, i am certain and i checked several times during the week. But the problem is solved now, a new crafted flail was upgrade in red.
Thanks man, very helpful.
Glad it helped
Very useful guide
nice video! its helpfull for me. thx
That is wonderful to hear.
Thx for the video!
Why do you open chests 1 at a time, rather than 5 at a time?
Thank you for making this!

VERRY HELPFULL
Thanks, is it possible to roll both vs skaven and vs chaos on a gun?
As far as I am aware weapons cannot roll Power vs Chaos and Skaven at the same time.
Thank you!
Good video. Question, how do you use the weapon special on console? Lol
I have been led to believe that RSB (Right stick button/pressing the right stick) is weapon special. Remember to tap it not hold it.
@@ratman_horatio ty I'll give it a try today
