Living for these long vlogs, Emma! 😊
Same!!
this is probably the liveliest we've ever seen you, the GLOW emanating from within you during this entire video was INSANE
due to global warming I haven't seen snow at home in too many years now, at least there are some people still able to enjoy it. As a winter lover this gives me some solace. Thank you, Emma!
I can't wait to watch this! I hope you enjoyed your trip! It's so wonderful to see other people who enjoy the snow 🩵❄️🩵❄️ I've realized we snow lovers are quite rare 😢
haha yes I've realized that too - sending all the snowy hugs
Back at ya 😊 ❄️🩵❄️✨️
I love snow too! I live in Austria and love to go snowboarding in our mountains! 💚🇦🇹
Welcome to Jasper. We are in a drought and have been for I believe the last 2 years. There is usually so much more snow. I think everyone should go up the skytram if they come here ( even though that tin can scares me to death) there are no words to describe the view. Jasper is one of my favorite places on earth and I’m so lucky to live so close to the park.
FYI parks Canada is hiring in the park. 😉
That was so beautiful! I hope someday you can live in the place of your dreams, with trees and snow!❤️
I finally was able to buy your necklace and I'm so freaking excited about it!! As someone who has deeply loved your channel for years now and just identifies in so many things with you (most importantly your love for snow/winter and obviously books) it just means so much to me to have an item like that in my possession 🥰thank you very every video emma
Em, I truly hope you can soon enough live close to nature again. You deserve it, your mental health deserves it. Do it as soon as you can, bc your happiness is exhuberantly visible when you live the life you're meant to live. ❤
The way you talk about snow, chasing it and interacting with it at every opportunity, and the way you just seem so content amidst it makes me want to experience it too! You've captured it so beautifully
I know what it's like to visit a place that feels like home and then to return to a home that feels alien. I now live in my dream place, and I hope you'll find a place in the beautiful snowy mountains as well! What a wondrful journey, thanks for taking us along!
This was such a beautiful video, Emma. It's 2am here in Illinois, and I can't sleep. While watching this amazing slice of your life, I was hypnotized in the beauty of Jasper. The way you skillfully crafted this video was like watching a movie. What creativity and an Artful life. Thank you for sharing small parts of your life with us. I count it as a blessing. Not everyone knows how to tell a story. You read them, and also tell them...thank you.❤
this is one of the most beautiful travelling vlog i've ever seen.
you made me want to do a trip or something, again, see things, move a little...desires that i've lost for a while, unfortunately.
maybe even believe, again, i can live in a place i can call home, one day.
thanks for combining vlogs and books and book chats!
you're hella cute Emma
Icefields parkway is beautiful but highway 40 has my heart!! If you ever have a chance to go to the Kananaskis, it is magical, and much less busy (or at least less touristy/more locals) than Banff and Jasper.
As someone who has lived in Alberta her whole life and really struggles with the social climate, it is lovely to see the real beauty and heart of the province that I love through fresh eyes in these vlogs, thank you for posting them!
I grew up near Jasper and watching this really showed me how much being from here I can take for granted how amazing it really is. The junction between Jasper and Banff on the icefields has one of my favorite easy hikes of the parks- Parker Ridge is such a great under appreciated easy hike and in particular is lovely late summer/early fall.
I visited Mendenhall glacier in Alaska 8 years ago and it was the most meaningful thing I’ve ever seen. These views look even more amazing. I can’t wait to visit this place one day!!
Also- if you haven't read Mountains of the Mind I HIGHLY recommend. Seems it would be right up your alley, talking about glacier and mountaineering history and the "sublime".
Hey Emma, I'm a viewer from Hungary and I just wanted to say that I find the way you talk about literature and the environment so inspiring! I am a literature student who is a little burned out currently, but watching you interact with nature and the world motivates me!
This video was incredibly moving and beautiful. Its so nice to see you happy when you're in nature!
It is so lovely to experience the glacier through your eyes. Thank you so much. ❤
This is so beautiful 🥹 I would love to see that someday! I’m so happy to see you so happy again 🩵❄️
hi emma, you’re such a comforting person. i love your videos and the good and happy vibe you always transmits through the camera. never stop doing what you do. so much love from brazil 🇧🇷💛💚
I've never seen the snow in my entire life, it's one of my biggest dreams actually, seeing you so in awe about it every time makes me feel so happy. what a beautiful video, Emma. I'm glad u enjoyed it
Oh same! I've never seen snow in my life and I've always really wanted to too! This vlog was such a treat
This is making me so excited for winter!!
haha me too and it just ended for me lol
@@emmiereadsmine starts in a few months. i moved to a small town and i am amongst some mountains, hoping to do some snow camping this year!!!
@@emmiereadsalso the excerpt from your thesis was beautiful, I’m currently in a writing residency and also thinking about memory and objects holding traces.
I loved the snippets of your thesis! Sounds like such a wonderful read
Hey Emma I've been watching your videos for a few years now and love your content! I was wondering if you are doing solo traveling or is your partner with you (ik you once mentioned they don't like to be on camera). Just because as a woman I'd love to travel alone but want to go about it in a safe way. I'm glad you had such a wonderful trip and I hope you get to go back to the mountains very soon!
I love seeing someone in love with nature’s majesty. You are a masterful storyteller.
What a gorgeous video, Emma! I'm home sick and feeling absolutely terrible, and this brought me so much comfort. I love snow since I was a child; my dream is to live in a place surrounded by mountains and trees. I hope you're doing well and you get to keep making these kind of trips as often as your soul needs them
I needed this so badly!! As Anne says I have been living in depths of despair and your videos especially this vlog is a breath of Fresh air! I missed you so so much, Emma!!
You bring peace to my heart, your aura provides us calm and tranquility.
💕🌸
Omg Emmie, this video was so moving! thank you for showing us the beauty of Alberta, the mountains, the ice. Thank you for showing us your love and appreciation for nature and animals! ❤
You might like Smilla’s Sense of Snow. It’s a fave of mine. Jasper and Banff are sooooooo gorgeous.
What a beautiful video ❤ it made me very happy seeing you enjoying yourself so much! Thanks for sharing
the awe and wonder in this video is palpable,, i felt it through the screen! amazing!
10:17 frozen waterfall!!!!!! Omg it's amazing🤍 what a view...
This vlog was so beautiful. This glorious setting that you visited brought tears to my eyes…more than once!
"Get the night out of my voice", I liked that one very much. You seem very happy, even in the way you look inward and seem to pause a bit here and there. That was very natural and lovely to watch. Thank you for this video :) Greetings from México.
Love you so much Emma. When you finally found the glacier and first stepped foot on it was so touching 🥹. You inspire me to pursue my passions. Keep on shining !!
After a stressful period at school this just helped me realise how small these problems are in the big picture and how I will forget about them soon❤️
Emma in her element 🏔🏞
I still remember you bought that book in a store till you've read it, and now look at you where you are, Ems! Your passion for books is just inspiring 🤍
Emma you come so alive and happy in and around snow compared to how you are in the city. You seriously need to consider moving to the mountains. It's good to see you so alive, full of energy and enthusiasm.
this is such a magical video. honestly one of the coziest and affectionate things ive ever seen. thank you so much ❤❤❤
It looks so peaceful, like you can finally breathe. Like ‘I’ can finally breathe just watching it! lol
At about 10:25, the lace veil in front of the waterfall was amazing! 😍
Do you travel by yourself? Are you ever scared?
Thank YOU for taking us.
🤍❄
Emma, i live in Rio de Janeiro, we had a terrible Summer this year with many heat waves. I'm happy it's Fall now. I've never seen snow and a place like Jasper in my life! Gosh, it's beautiful! Loved your vlog! Thank you, my friend! 💖❄❄😊
After feeling the bracelet incident, it is heartening to see you enjoying yourself. Love the scenic shots. Thank you.
This video makes me miss my hometown in British Columbia. Take me back 🥲
Emma your thesis is such beautiful writing!!!! Not that I expected anything less.
I remember that when i was little, winter was filled with snow here in the Netherlands, now we are lucky if we get one day with a tiny bit of snow throughout the entire winter 🥲
Jasper oh Jasper. I love all the minerals in the mountains around Jasper and the colors they bring. And so many places, so much beauty. Oh Jasper.
the way you teared up at watching the glacier made me tear up aswell, it was emotional
Thanks for taking us on that trip with you. It looks like a beautiful place!
A truly beautiful video, Emma, thank you so much for sharing these precious moments and memories 💛 It made me feel very emotional actually haha. Also listening to your words on glaciers was really inspiring and interesting! ❄️ Hope you're back in the mountains soon 🏔️
Emma this is wonderful, great job. I’m glad to see you reading the sorrow of angels. I’m about halfway through and loving it so much.
This looked stunning, loved hearing your theses
this is just absolutely beautiful I love your travel vlogs so much!
Icefields is a masterpiece. Read it after you first did and I very much appreciate the rec
The music you chose while hiking in the beginning got me all emotional.
this is so beautiful!!! 💙🤍 i love the mountains and I miss being there so much but i've never been to a scenery like this and I love seeing it through yoyr eyes!
Jasper is so high on my list for when I finally get to Canada next year hopefully! Looks absolutely stunning!
Just amazing! Thank you for sharing this magic place with us! I love snow and mountains too but here in Austria the temperatures are never deep enough to build so amazing ice falls! 🇦🇹💚
So happy for you that you are able to follow your passions! It's really nice to see you so content.
I’m so happy for you🥹🥹❤️❤️
This trip to Jasper is absolutely gorgeous!! Thank you Emma for bringing us along with you. I'm just going to add this destination to my TBV ( T o be visited). I love your book recommendations and now your travel recs as well!!
Big thanks to emma for making me live in snowy mountains vicariously
One of my friends emigrated there from the uk a good few years ago. Looks such a beautiful place. Both the scenery and wildlife looks incredible. I’m a bit disappointed in myself that I didn’t take up his offer to visit years ago, because now my anxiety goes through the roof if I travel anywhere really long distance. Hope you had a great time there.
I’ve heard you talk about Icefields so much so I just ordered a copy. It will be here in a week and I can’t wait! ❄️📚
I’ve stayed right there at Jasper lodge, eaten in that dining room and walked that path on the lake. It’s amazing. I haven’t been that many places, so it’s so fun to see one in a video. What an amazing area, the Canadian Rockies, the whole Icefields Parkway, and those national parks. Emma, please do go to Yellowstone if you get the chance, especially right before it closes in the fall, when the elk are in rut. You will see a ton of them.
The way you feel about Ice and snow is how I feel about the ocean. I don't live close to it at the moment but at least a couple times a year need to visit and need to live close eventually!
Thanks for the reminder about your necklace, it made me check Ana Luisa again and they finally ship to Germany which they weren't doing the last time I wanted to order something :)
Wow. 😍
I'm finally writing my undergrad thesis now! Mine is on trees having a voice in literature. One of my main texts is Greenwood by Michael Christie, a Canadian novel I adore and highly recommend! I think you'd love it.
im watching this at work literally tearing up because i wish i was there lol. its so beautiful
so happy for you! and thank you for sharing with us this dream!
Its always amazing to see how people captures places in my own backyard (ish)! I hope you had a n incredible visit to the province I call home!
What a beautiful trip! I love the snow and winter. Unfortunately in Illinois we don’t see as much snow as we did when I was growing up. Makes me sad. Living vicariously through you on this trip. I hope it was replenishing!
Omgosh, as I watch more…it’s so beautiful!!!!! Watching you find so much joy in being there made me cry. Such peace. ❤
watching this after the July wildfires. more than a bit heartbroken, but glad you got to see this magnificent place in all of its beauty 😔🩷
Oh my God, the little snippets into your dissertation were so incredibly interesting! I would love to one day be abble to read it interely 💜 Also thank you, thank you, thank you for providing me with such beautiful shots of nature I can look at when the city life gets too heavy
So beautiful! And you look so happy! 🥲❣
Your hair looks so beautiful!!!!! Glad you had an amazing trip and hoping you live in the mountains one day!🥰
I love these videos!! I'm still waiting for the day that I can see such impressive nature. The highest I've ever been is in Switzerland, and there was barely any snow. Also, I finally ordered your necklace ☺ I'm so excited for it!!
What a paradise... wow!
Imagine living at the middle of all this white... far from my lovely but deadly Brazilian heat
🎇🙋♀️😊😃Oh My Goodness, Thank You So So Much For Taking Us Along Showing Us All The Most Beautiful Mountains, Glaciers and All The Gorgeous Scenery of Jasper😃🗻🗻🗻😊
Beautiful video ❤ I read heaven and hell when you recommanded it last year and was debating wether to start the second book a few weeks ago ! I guess this is my sign! I'm so happy you had such a wonderful time, it's beautiful to see you reconnecting with yourself. Wishing you the best, always 🥰
I wish you could live in the mountains too. You seem at peace outside and in nature.
This was an absolutely stunning vlog!
The shots of the elks are so cool
Someone who loves the snow as much as I do……thank you, Emma! Also, maybe you could move to a more rural place where you could be in nature. I know how much you struggle in the city. My husband and I moved in October from Omaha, Nebraska to Maine. We’d lived in the Midwest all of our lives but we both love nature and the cold and Maine is just so beautiful. It was one the hardest and most expensive things we’ve ever done, but it was worth it…although Maine didn’t see much snow this year. 😢
17:32 this cup is so beautiful
“I’d like to see a bear from a distance.” Lol! You got it girl!
Jasper seems absolutely wonderful. I would love to go there one day!
Love these travel vlogs!🤗💙
This makes me miss the snow so much! Since moving to Ontario there's hardly any snow compared to the prairies.
29:15 Fun fact: The Irish word for wolf, mac tíre, literally means "son of the land" 🐺 (...and the German word is actually "Wolf", not "wulf" ;))
Great vlog 📚☕
You are amazing and i love your Chanel ❤
watching old vlogs… jasper 😢
I’ve been there and absolutely love it would love to go back. Emmie I pray that you will be able to live there someday 💕🌸
So, so jealous of all this snow. We had one good snow day where I live, the winters are getting warmer. :(
I'm a massive city person, so I can't relate to not wanting to live in a city, but I can relate to traveling somewhere you love and feeling like you belong there (:
"Only 2.5kms high" she says while I cry here in Australian that the biggest mountain on my entire continent is only 2.2km high
I'm so glad you're back on RUclips
hiking in the snow looks so hard😦
