Description
Band of Brothers' tracks the story of "E" Easy Company, 506th Regiment of the 101st US Airborne Division, from their initial training starting in 1942 to the end of World War II. A fascinating tale of comradeship that is, in the end, a tale of ordinary men who did extraordinary things.
In this new and imaginative setting Ian Macpherson combines the glorious sounds of the bagpipes with this Michael Kamen's theme to the HBO miniseries 'Band of Brothers'. This will undoubtedly prove popular with band directors looking for innovative settings for Concert Band & Bagpipes to replace the tried and tested.

Another fine arrangement from the constantly busy pen of ''Mistro'' Ian Macpherson, does this gentleman ever sleep! He has an entire portfolio of music for Pipes & Band, and his unique voice in this genre needs to be exposed and heard by all concert and pipe bands worldwide. His portfolio is full of wonderful arrangements amd originals; in this often neglected category and style.
The main message of Band of Brothers' is the bond of brotherhood and the extraordinary courage of soldiers in World War II. One of the greatest achievements of Band of Brothers is the realisation of the European theatre in which the battles of World War II were fought.
Ian's super emotionally charged chart captures the essence and drama of film composer Michael Cayman's already brilliant score evocatively, and gave me a musical frisson (a feeling of intense emotion or pleasure experienced when listening to great music). It's characterized by a sudden rush of chills, goosebumps, or a tingling sensation! At my age any type of frission is welcome. Absolutely adore the 9/8 suspension at 2:44! Joking aside, go out and purchase this arrangement, hire a piper and put in on your next concert. It's a no brainer!!
