This private money used for the gala is not even a drop in the ocean compared to that amount. People have lives, not every minute of someone else's life needs to be spent on one focus. I'm sure you don't spend every waking minute being an armchair activist. I'm sure you watch series and go to a friends party and maybe donate to a fundraiser you care about. Petition, protest, you can become that influencer for change. Instead you're complaining about a fashion show to raise money for a museum that restores and looks after human history and culture.
