Red Velvet honestly doesn't get nearly enough of the recognition that they deserve. Russian Roulette just reached 100M views after a year and a half and most of their others aren't even close despite how good they are. They've been holding back on R&B title tracks ever since 7월7일 wasn't well received but I'm glad they're finally getting back into it because this is who they are and they deserve to release these chill MVs regardless of whether they super popular or not

Red Velvet's being experimenting with the whole rnb vibe to their b-sides from the beginning. Their first mainstream foray into rnb tracks was 'Automatic'. I think with 'Bad Boy', they've found their musical persona and so I really hope SM keeps going in this direction with their songs
This isn't really different for RV, they've always been inspired by rnb. Like with Automatic and Be Natural. Even in their more pop songs you can hear the influences. Red Velvet is definitely one of the best 💎

I also feel like Female stans are more loyal and more likely to support a group for a very long time. Maybe I’m just being biased but look at all these groups that have Majority female fanbases and how long they last compared to ones who fanbase is more male dominated (unless the group has the support of the General Public of course)
I don't stan girl groups. I don't listen to their music. Sometime only their little songs. That two groups the I was starting to listen disband.( Wonder Girls and 4minute) peekaboo was so good that I listen to the whole album it was so good. Bad boy really good. Red violet album will be my first girl album to buy and stan.

I feel that Twice has the most mass appeal (bc they are filling an industry slot), but Red Velvet has the most quality music out of the groups mentioned. The fact that each member brings it in terms of vocals, visuals & charisma means they definitely have the potential to be *THE* girl group of 2018. My only concern is if SM continues to focus all their energy on RV, I may never get the F(X) comeback I deserve (lol)

red velvet is not the reason f(x) haven't made a comeback, it's more like their internal 'problem'. they won't make a comeback without vic, so they make luna-amber subunit instead. you know what actually scares me? that SM will debut a new girlgroup later this year, that's why they give red velvet so many comeback because after that they will focus more on their new ggroup.

Yall have been sleeping on red velvet, their B sides are GOLD. Seriously their music discography is top production. If you guys want more of those velvet vocals that will have you seeing stars here are my recommends, seriously check them out you guys are missing out. I also recommend listening to the lyrics becuase many of the songs have great lyrics

Actually, this type of R&B song is not new to Red Velvet, who explicitly began as a group that had two personalities: their pop or red side and their R&B/ballad or velvet side. In fact, two of their previous comebacks were as R&B as they get: Automatic and Be Natural. Additionally, another of their comeback songs, One of These Nights, was a ballad with relatively minimal post-studio production.

I'm super happy with their comeback. They're developing in a very good way. I won't call this "sexy". I think it's rather mature. I hope we see other girl groups like Twice and G-Friend development this year
lol i feel like this is one of your cutest reaction videos. Some people said it's like a black pink concept but aside from the colors haha i don't really see it in the song. This actually hits me as a very SM Yoo Young Jin era song or an SM group b-track song and I don't mean that negatively! SM b-tracks are amazing (underrated), but unconventional as title tracks. :)

heechulliebabo People seem to forget the concept and idea of Red Velvet. It's the red that represents pop and velvet represents r&b. When YG explained his concept for Blackpink there was backlash because of people thinking he copied SM and their concept with Red Velvet. I find it funny that people are saying RV is copying BP's concept when they were the first to come out with that type of idea.
+JammyxD But BP's colors and Red Velvet isn't really the same tho. Red Velvet may be the first one to come out but Blackpink's more on the (Black)Hip Hop side and the other's (Pink) Pop or cutesy side. BTW Red Velvet slay this song.

+JammyxD guys! When i say colors i mean MV colors not the red and velvet or black and pink thing. :) i didn't forget about the genre thing. The comments that i've seen are actually more from RV fans, and they do not refer to it as copying. They just wish the concept, and here i do think they mean the styling more than anything, was more unique because they are used to the quirkiness. They weren't malicious, it was the regular stans not being satisfied with the company's decisions.

TWICE may be more mainstream but as far as music is concerned (which is what they should be compared for since they’re singers) Red Velvet is miles ahead and TWICE isn’t even close to RV in the vocals area. Like it’s so crazy to me how Seulgi and IMO Joy could be the main vocal in many other groups but since Wendy is such a POWERHOUSE vocalist they aren’t like that’s sick and unheard of.

Exactly! Initialy I joined the Reveluvs fandom seeing their variety show appearances but after listening and seeing their MVs ... I was seriously impressed with their style and diversity in their music with each comeback! Now, sometimes I follow the group more for their music than the girls itself :D
Lyf for music yes, me too! I had discovered them through variety show clips, and after listening to all of their music I was very impressed. I don’t even listen to Pop, but their songs just hooked me in. And then, being an R&B fan, I loved their Velvet songs as well

The way they harmonize with the beat gives off a 90's vibe and more on the holluwood vibe music. That beat at the beginning reminds me of Iggy Azalea's Black Widow tho.

i'm so happy that you appreciate their music really. i think somehow they're underrated in the sense that cause their music is less mainstream and they're less cutesy...but their productions (including music videos and music) are of very high quality and they do catch a niche!

Yeah I’m pretty sure this is true, SM’s main girl groups are Girls Generation, F(x), and Red Velvet. F(x) used to only comeback once a year because they were an “experimental group”, Girls Generation were the last to have a repack in November 2011 😭

I think people, well western fans, need to be more open-minded when listening to K-Pop music. They have a tendency to lean towards styles and genres that's culturally close to them and have a hard time accepting things new even though they're listening to music from a completely foreign music industry. I'm not saying they have to like everything but just be more open-minded.

I think she also placed #1 in girl group member branding for April, May, and June. I have a feeling she might get another drama offer later this year too.
