Another Example on Why to Carry a Breakdown

Level was just above 5ft.
I broke this paddle on a small waterfall about one and half years ago-ish. I inserted an aluminum tube to join the two halves and it has been solid up until that last stern squirt. As I was packing up gear in the garage that morning, I looked at my breakdown and was thinking if I should bring it or not. And, of course I didn't.

I recently heard wade talking about how racing paddles shouldn’t be used for play boating because they structurally aren’t built to have the back of the blade loaded the way others are. Who knows if that was in play here though.
