United We Stand editor and journalist Andy Mitten shares his thoughts after Manchester United were thrashed 4-0 at Crystal Palace last night at Selhurst Park.
Michael Olise struck twice alongside goals from Tyrick Mitchell and Jean-Philippe Mateta on Monday night to plunge United's season to new depths and leave them eighth in the Premier League with a goal difference of minus-three.

Not mentioning the fact he can't organise a football team currently, after spending hundreds of millions.

Every time all the problems get pinned on one man, the manager.
Put yourself in the manager's shoes: you have a bunch of lazy, unmotivated players working for you, earing HUGE salaries. You give them an instruction and they simply don't put in the effort for you. Is it your fault that they are lazy and unambitious ? @@karlbabst2484 You do realise you that you can seperate the two. You can believe that the United job is one with extremely difficult circumstances and believe the manager isn't up to the job, as i said, the season has been a disaster, can you name me one club in the league that would keep a manager playing a brand of football like this?
What makes you think the players are lazy and unmotivated? Bar a couple that we know of that have had discipline issues and just are never fit (sancho, martial, rashford, shaw, varane) I think the majority of the squad work hard for him. Evans Maguire, Dalot, McTominay, Bruno are good professionals. Garnacho has been grafting his bollocks off for him. Hojlund, Antony, Martinez, Onana, Mount, Eriksen, Casemrio and Amrabat are all HIS signings, bar Casemiro he wasn't forced to get any of them. I certainly haven't seen them down tools, they wouldn't have come back against liverpool, chelsea, bournemouth etc just in the last month if they weren't putting in the effort.
You can't just make up the fact that people who think the manager should be sacked are only blaming him. If you asked 99% of those who want him sacked (including me) if the players should go also, they would say yes, it's not either/or and it's certainly not toxic to say that a manager leading MANCHESTER UNITED to their worst ever premier league finish and the most amount of defeats for about 50 years should lose his job. Deary me get some standards

EtH has a track record of a high-achieving manager with not many better and those superior are not usually available - last season even without a particularly 'strong poker hand' he delivered - this season Lady Luck has dealt him an even 'worse hand' and yet a successive FA Cup final place has been attained. Get the structure above EtH in place (most agree ultimately this has been the main problem) and if he doesn't fully achieve then that's the time to say "tot ziens" - for me that time to say "thanks for your service and we wish you good luck" ISN'T NOW.

That's just how I see it. Yesterday we had Evan, Casemiro and Eriksen on the starting eleven - three players that just can't run and know they will leave in the end of the season. Why would they care? Casemiro played like a sunday league player. It's crazy how his level dropped from last year's.

He provided a very fair and balanced response to the current issues at the club, but the only point I disagree with him on is that of European competition. As a United fan, I think the best approach is to not only get rid of some deadwood players, free up a lot of space on the wage bill but also attract players who genuinely want to play for the club - not being in Europe next season may be a good approach

The instances of it being 100% the manager's fault almost never exist, but it does not mean the manager should not be fired because it's not 100% his fault. If the manager is making the situation worse by the day and is not part of the solution he should be fired.

I think the fans know now that ETH with a fully fit squad he can go toe to toe with any big club. Right now he is in a crisis of injuries. He too can't control them at all. We need to have a benefit of doubt.

Andy Mitten a man that speakes a lot of sense. Journalists at the club like Luckhurst report like they are anti United fans. Their reporting about the club, its manager, players etc has been more damageing than anything else. Their fake reporting for the MEN spreads itself across the football world and snowball's itself into a load of crap that ends up being very dangerous to the club and its staff. Andy Mitten has been all over the world with the club for years, Andy is an excelent journalist, the only one that is worth listing too.

For me. Last season was good because in the 2nd half off the season Rashford by some miracle propelled his team or this team into contention. At some point during that time they were title contenders. But the moment Rashford got a knocked things started to crumble again. I think that’s how it is. He relied so much on such players, like Martinez and Rashford that when juices ran out. Nothing! Look at Martinez now. He played a lot of games for Machester United, I mean every game. Then the World Cup came, he played and returned to Manchester United playing every game again until he got an injury in the later part of last season. Until now, he couldn’t even play. You think after this injury it will be still the same? No! ETH knew he needed a CB or reinforcement in that area. And during the transfer window, he got Evans, Mount, Onana and Amrabat. For some reason Amrabat is not playing. What a waste of loan or time bringing him in. If he really needs Casemiro to play against Palace, he could have played Amrabat in that CB position and let Casemiro be Casemiro, playing as a defensive midfielder. But it wasnt. So I don’t know. ETH has been inconsistent since last year. Now that Rashford’s and Martinez juices runs out the team is just nothing. And that’s just only 2 players from the long list of injuries. I don’t know, maybe it’s just me or something, he didn’t bring his Man Management skill from Ajax. Yeah! He’s strict but to only a few selected ones. Like Ronaldo and Sancho, and a little bit of Rashford and Maguire. He’s even considering throwing Maguire out then suddenly he needs somebody because of these injuries his team has having then suddenly Maguire became he’s hero. For some time Maguire rescued him. Then nothing again. Same with McTominay. I don’t know. It’s very frustrating and very disappointing to watch him coach this team.

I challenge anyone to look at the actual team, and beyond the name Manchester United and think that we should be doing any better than we are. This team, with the injuries, is about exactly where it should be. It’s a mismatch of overplayed teenagers, who’ve now run out of steam, pensioners and a few players who simply aren’t good enough. Johny Evans, despite having a solid career wouldn’t get in any other premier league team. So why are people so shocked?

Looking at EtH spending over £400M to get certain players & not getting them all when the owners released the necessary cash for him to get them in 18 months + the way he treated certain players e.g. Ronaldo, Pogba, VDB etc... + we experienced the worst season we've had for 60 years by experiencing our worst loss, a 0 - 7 loss to Liverpool & helping Man City achieve the Treble to us this guy came to town to Literally take the piss on every level!
    We leave you with this....
Officially knocked out of the champions league over 4 months ago is a sackable offences so EtH knows his chances of staying already!
EtH has been hanging his players out to dry & he's at fault for 7 out of the 13 losses due poor to summer transfers & lack of depth for the season.
EtH has been the worst Manager at Man Utd for 60 years, we've experienced since SMB.
This manager is purposely going out of his way to mess up everything that we stand for so he definitely doesn't deserve to Stay, Win, Draw or Lose on Saturday or Sunday. Get Rid ASAP!
    Keep it in the family!

Very balanced analysis. Rarely seen that from the media this season -- mostly clickbait unintelligible nonsense. That aside, no manager would have stayed this season after 68 combined injuries and being forced to play around 30 different defensive combinations. What else did anyone expect with a season riddled with so many repeat injuries to players. You can't sustain that. We've been fortunate to remain in the Top 8 this season, but unless he gets key players back, and even if he does, they won't be anywhere near match-ready. His best bet is to have them all return for the FA Cup Finals and write off the PL season. We'll finish between 8th and 10th place.
