Great fight. I wanted Ryan to win, but had Mayer up 5/4 going into the last round. Ryan got the last round. 5/5 draw. In my book, draws shouldn't happen in a championship fight, so champion retains the belt. Very impressed with Mayer. She fought smarter and with more heart than I expected. Both ladies are great fighters. Cheers.
i cant even listen to you if you think ryan won that last round. consistency, output, volume, power, visuals, mayer had it all. she was a pez dispenser in that last round. its like you watched ryan pressure forward an convinced yourself she was landing when i was watching mayer land multiple combos in every exchange and ryan would land one good punch per minute. how you conclude that as ryan winning makes me feel dumber for reading your comment. you genuinely type this comment and killed my faith in people having eyes and brains. you must have been listening to kriegel who wasnt even paying attention to the last 4 rounds at all and got paid to say ryan was winning because the bookies were shilling her as the winner when we all heard everyone ringside claim mayer was ahead in the beginning and closed the show in the last 4 rounds. its like one punch would land from ryan and it made you forget the 2 minutes of mayers combos that landed before that. mayer won the first 3 rounds while the odds stayed dormant. ryan lands her first punch and she shot to -350 and then back to -160 a minute later. as you can probably conclude if you have above room temp iq, i think you were brainwashed into believing what you were hearing from kriegel instead of believing what you were watching
Excellent, close fight, as good a women's fight as I have seen. I thought Mayer by a whisker, the 97-93 much too wide for mine. Probably 'poetic justice' for Mayer after being ripped off twice in Britain. I feel for Ryan, especially after someone threw paint over her - dirty pool to the extreme.
Agree about Mayer's attitude being garbage. That's why I wanted Ryan to punish her, but I came out impressed that Mayer fixed a number of her bad boxing techniques and showed way more heart (and smarts) than I thought she had.
