  • Update on my NOS 2014 MV Agusta F3 800 that dropped a valve. A classic good news/bad news story but I can now only conclude that the bike is cursed.

Well, at least you will have your bike back soon! Panels will be an easy fix, 30 minute job maximum, whenever they arrive.
Your experience has completely put me off from buying an F3 to be honest, it did cross my mind at some point but I think I will go for a Panigale instead when the time comes. I appreciate you taking the time to upload these videos, very helpful.
Hopefully the shop will make up for the mistake and give you a good deal on your next bike!

Glad you enjoyed the videos. Yes, it's hard for me to recommend MV Agusta to people because their customer service is so poor. I say only get one if you REALLY want it (and it's under warranty!) because your love for the bike has to outweigh the hassle of dealing with them once you have a problem. Good luck with whatever bike you decide to get!

@@amv_moto watch out with the colour of those panels as well, you don’t want to have the same issue as with the fuel tank. Make sure MV send the right ones ! Although it is MV, they will end up doing whatever they feel like...

Bikes get dropped. It really sucks but it's part of ownership given enough time. What the dealership does to make it right is what's important and it sounds like they're going to do what it takes and it sounds like you've got the right attitude about it. Good luck with everything!

You have definitely been unlucky and frankly, I would ask for a new replacement bike under a goodwill warranty claim and if they don't then threaten legal action with all the negative publicity that would bring for the MV brand. I would not advise anyone buy an MV Agusta unless it's something you REALLY want. Their customer service is horrible and their parts delivery is sloooow so if you do have a problem, your love for the bike better outweigh the hassle of dealing with MV. I would not buy a silver-engined F3. The newer black engines are supposed to be more reliable. I would not buy a used MV off warranty unless you don't plan to ride the bike very often. Check the MV forum and talk to a mechanic at the shop you plan to get it serviced at. There are F3 owners who will tell you they've ridden their bikes and had no problems and they'll tell you not to worry about it but that is obviously not my experience. Good luck with whatever you decide!

Buy a newer black-engined model which is supposed to be more reliable (but we'll see) 2) If you have no dealer support, you will have a lot of aggravation trying to get it serviced - especially if something serious goes wrong. 3) You won't have a warranty. However, if you're feeling lucky, you really want the bike and you have a backup bike to ride when it's down - go for it.
