Why Diz and Daylyt always crying about situations with the leagues? If you don't like the contract, don't sign it. If the money ain't right, the time limits ain't right, the footage rights ain't right...DON'T SIGN THE CONTRACT. DON'T DO THE BATTLE. Go somewhere else where they will give you what you want or negotiate something you can both agree on and don't cry about it later. THAT'S HOW BUSINESS WORKS.
This episode and the one with Slug are the best so far man good job.

Had to pause the video to mention this. Battle rap league owners, such as ganick, smack, arp, eurgh and whatnot set up leagues which gained big fan bases and followers where the battlers used to battle for free or minimal pay. As times change and money becomes involved all the battlers realise they are the reason the brand is where it is. Its modern day 'player power' but without the TV deals and sponsorship rights. Battlers and league owners need each other. But which league owner is going to sacrifice their margin because the battler complains? And how many battlers will battle for less than what the next man is getting? Its a tug of war where only the most marketable few will get what they want. Stay humble battlers, negotiate your deal and then battle with a good performance. The platform is the brand. You know that. So accept that and forget about overthrowing the monarchy

53:00 great points by diz about lack of originality in the scene. This is also true for mainstream hip hop as well. The difference between battle rap and hip hop in the 90's/2000's was that every artist had their own unique style and delivery that made them who they were. It separated them from everyone else and you could tell who they were from literally just one word of a bar. Now everybody is trying to copy eachother because they see what works so they don't want to take any risks by being original or working hard to come up with their own ideas. It's really a shame and is why I don't listen to hip hop or battle rap much anymore. It's just all the same types of bars spit the same way over the same sounding instrumentals. None of them are trying to push any boundaries or step outside the box.
