At this point , I give Rashida a “like” before the video even starts… and a comment!!! Bc I already know it’s something black women need! Thanks ladies!!!
Hi from the future! So happy for Mila. Feeling less alone knowing there are black women living in colder climates. I’m one of the few black women who will never boycott winter lol. Give me all the seasons!
Iceland is a nice country to visit. The waterfalls and the volcano's. Even though it doesn't get very warm, I would go when I can wear just a sweater.👍👍👍👍
28:53 great video. I just came back from iceland for spring break. I agree, i never felt othered due to my race, but received a few chuckles for my american mannerism/tendencies. I recommend this trip for any introverted person.
This was a great interview. It's nice to hear about places one might not ordinarily think about moving to. Too cold for me, but definitely a great option for those not worried about the cold weather. Thanks for posting.
Interesting interview. I wonder if she knows Jewels who is a black woman from NYC who runs the channel All Things Iceland. I've lived in cold areas, and in the winter you have to stay active with sports like snowshoeing or fat tire biking or XC skiing to get you out and about otherwise you'll get the winter blues really quick. The Happy Light, like she mentions, helps too.
"Iceland" sounds cold but it's actually less colder than NY, MA, Chicago etc. it's warmer than Sweden and Norway. It sits on the West Forest Biome so it's significantly warmer than other Nordic countries. The challenge is the dark winters but then they also have a season with almost 24 hour light days.
I traveled to Iceland for two weeks in 2015. It was beautiful and one of my favorite destinations. 🤍 Surprisingly, they had a really good Ethiopian restaurant in Reykjavik, too.
Iceland and anywhere in Scandanavia are great places to live!

Iceland?!?! Say whaaaat? That sounds cold 🥶 AND Fancy! 💃🏿
Icelanders “care” about their citizens! WOW! We are so lacking here in the US! I knew it, however, this interview drives it home!
