I will be headed to the headphone room at AXPONA next Sunday to listen to Stax and competing phones to them. I already have Sennheiser HD800S phones nd a Sennheiser amp which I love but with the prospect of moving to assisted care living and smaller spaces I’m curious to know how much of my fabulous Piega loudspeakers I can create with headphones.

    Great review, thank you.
As for me …way too rich for my blood..but I do understand what you’re conveying.
As for me my LCDX 2021 and my Sen’s 650’s cover off what I want in my headphone entertainment.
That being said ..I hope to one day be able to get into the latest offering from Meze ( Emp’s’ 2.0) ..but till then I just enjoy the music through my system.
    Btw, love that soundtrack 👍
    Take Care.

I would guess most people's headphones are 3 or 4 grades above their speakers sound for sound quality. For detail, purity, lack of room coloration flatness of frequency response etc. I as most people prefer speakers, since the way they present music spatially reminds us of a live performance with musicians in front of you. Still there is something to be said for something that lets you hear everything on a recording. Even if its not convincingly presented spatially. Some people live in apartments and headphones ate the only way then can play music loud. Some great recordings to hear through headphones are Crime Of The Century-Supertramp, The Captain & Me-The Doobie Brothers, Aqualung-Jethro Tull, Steppenwolf 16 Greatest, Hot Rocks-The Rolling Stones,.

No. Loudspeakers create holographic sound stage that brings you to the recording venue. Cans can never do that.

"... and who exactly these headphones are made for." I will keep my opinion to myself, lol.
