    I planted a row for the first time…im in Michigan so its not too common here and i thought they wouldn’t do well as its hot and humid in Michigan in summer…but they are doing great! Thanks for the tips…..

    I was really curious as to what you do to stop the cabbage moths and leaf cutters from attacking your greens. I can grow them, but the problem are those pesky cabbage worms and such. I have caterpillars from both moth types, brown and green. Any info you might lend would be wonderful and appreciate it.

      Seven is very good on protecting your greens. Also soaking tobacco and adding half gallon of water is a good way to rid your garden of critters.

    Such a healthy, large plant! I'm growing collards for the first time this year. Hopefully my crop will grow as well as yours have! Looking forward to your next video.

      @@JeffPenaify My first 2 attempts to grow collards were unsuccessful 😔 But I'm trying one more time for a fall season harvest. Thank you for the encouragement!

    I have a question. I was going to boil the collard green leaves in hot water before I can prepare them. Would that also help disinfect the dirt and bugs on them?

    • @idaharden6732
      @idaharden6732 2 года назад

      No, wash them in the sink first to get the dirt and bugs off then boil them to eat 😉. You can use a bit of vinegar water solution (3 parts water to one part vinegar) if you're really nervous about bugs, but rinsing them in just cool water should be fine.
