This team is doing literally everything right. Lester doesn't have his best stuff, he still battles for 5 innings and holds them at 4. Two bench players filling in for the day and they combine for 4 RBI. The defense has a rare 2 error game, but they make up for it by making 2 huge double plays in back to back innings.
This team is special. I don't care how this season ends, I got to watch history. This club has a bright future.
Imagine getting caught in a run-down between 2nd and third base, between the catcher and center fielder!

I absolutely agree with everything stated here. Especially with all the injuries we had this year, and the down months, this club could have easily gave up. They kept competing and have now made history. As much as I want a championship, hopefully they keep it at one game at a time and just keep on doing what they have been doing. Amazing season man.

@TheSportsGuru I can agree with that this team has two position players that are considered two of the best players in all of baseball at their position in arenado and Goldschmidt the 2011 team only had one player that was considered one of the best players at his position in all of baseball and that was Albert

As a Brewers fan, I'm so relieved we wrapped up the division series in our last home stand, because otherwise we would have had to take a game against the Cardinals or Dodgers and that would have been super scary.

That double play in the 8th warranted a spot in a 'Top 50 plays in the second half' video. It's every bit as ridiculous and incredible as the #1 spot on the first half.

Great game for the Cardinals. Their energy level had to go through the roof after that crazy double play and managed to win yet another game. It's been fun in September for Cardinal baseball.

“If” they can win out they will tie Cleveland’s record of 22 straight. I can’t believe I’m saying this but I actually think they have a chance.
I don’t know what’s crazier. The streak, DeJong stepping in for Sosa, Bader absolutely being a tank in clutch position scoring runs and driving them in, Noot being Noot, O’Neill being ungodly, or out bullpen. This is all just a dream honestly.
7:30 It would have been so easy to f'that up, and yet the Cards execute literally everything on that sequence to perfection. Trapping one guy between two bases is hard enough; trapping two with a base in between and not f'ing it up is a thing of beauty.
De Jong might have lost his #1 SS spot to Sosa but now he has a chance to show he's worth it. Keep it up. Depth wins you rings in baseball. Let's go Cardinals!!
If I’m the Giants or Dodgers I do not want to be in the wild card game at all right now. A hot team can beat a better team all it takes is one game.

We're 3-3 with the Dodgers this season. Also 4-6 with the Giants... I like our chances going into the wild card, whichever team we face, lol. After the Dodgers we went against the Reds and lost the first game, but won the second two and, well... haven't stopped winning since lol.

No bias, like both teams, but it kinda looked like in slow-mo the glove caught the heel of Bader's front foot, though that could be after it got to the plate, hard to tell with that replay angle and short crop though

@@white-gold the runner trying to come home is supposed to stay in a rundown long enough that they advance, but he got tagged too quick, runner from first to second went back to second, saw the batter was still trying to go to second, so he ran to third to give him a place to go once he got into a rundown, then midway to third Edman throws over to third to get him in a rundown. They all got caught mid-basepath, it was really unlucky. Any one of the cards throws is half a second later and it’s a different story
