Ronnie Drew sang so beautifully ,and he and Luke gave 110% to every song they sang . So sad they both died so young ,Rest in Peace Ronnie, You're gone but not forever ... immortalised in the eyes of the World ...

Unforgettable Ronnie Drew.christ he was a blessing.what a terrible loss
Christ you’re right boy
This isnt a version. This is it.
Irish music owes him so much. What a voice.
You can tell he put his heart and soul into this for the Late Legend Luke Kelly... Both brought the dubliners to my generation and I salute you both
_'What's lost is gone and gone forever'._
My dear ma brought me up on the Dubliners, they played "Rare old times" at her funeral.
Their physical bodies are gone but the memories and music will never be gone forever. R.I.P. have a good day.
Love this song who,s listening 2/3/2021 Dubliners are the best happy days from Ireland up the Dubs xxx
My grandfather was a Derry man he would always sing to us when we were kids this version by Ronnie beautiful sung with passion
I love this song so well. Ronnie is a true legend. The Dubliners... What an amazing bunch. From the first members to the last. So many gone, but never forgotten. Listen to that banjo sing.
There's never going to another group quite like them.
Beautiful and sad. Very handsome man - could be in movies or perhaps he was. Pandemic is allowing me time to find beautiful music. More music needed now in our uncertain times. There is LIGHT - elderly in Ireland always said so and they lived through real hard times.

You can almost see Ronnie's soul through those big blue eyes, and he truly sang from the soul!!
You can
@@spat06 He must be thinking he can’t do justice to a song that Luke Kelly sang, but this is a great version!
@@thomasharrigan6886 Luke Kelly was only a few months dead
his soul, yes .. but light green most beautiful irish eyes, i would say
@@thomasharrigan6886 better that Luke Kelly
Dear Dubliners, thanks for all!!!
Amazing ... The audience are spellbound.. as if he was singing to just one person. Absolute magic ❣️
don't even know why, but this one and Donegal Danny always makes me cry, always.
Beautiful song but sure is emotional.
2 of his finest songs 💚
I THINK AS I HEARD RONNIE SING, I HEARD THE HEART OF THE REAL PEOPLE, THE ONES WHO HAD TO LIVE THROUGH THAT AWFUL TIME. I'VE NO VISITED DERRY, BUT I SEEN BELFAST, AND PRAY THE PEACE REMAINS. RONNIE POURED HIS HEART IN THAT PHIL COULTER SONG.
I love both Luke and Ronnie
Ronnie drew what a legend 🙌 👏 ❤
They don't make them like that anymore
Ironically sobering! 👌
Great song sung by a great man a legend
Ronnie had a beautiful voice. Sure, deep and rough, but also melodious to carry a ballad like this. And I love Barney on the banjo here. His playing never claimed the spotlight, yet it would not be the same without.
Love Barney, whenever the camera pans over to him he is sitting there with that smile of his, happily striking away at the strings, oblivious to all but the song.
And without John‘s brilliant fiddle as well not possible. Makes it so unique.
Aww Ronnie what a legend! 🤗
Oh l love Ronnie Drew what
a Voice I went see the Dubliners UK your in 1991..my husband bought me the Tea Shirt, and we went backstage
sadly they are all gone now as is my wonderful Husband but never forgotten❤️❤️God bless them 🙏🏻

Mir kommen vor Rührung die Tränen, so wunderschön ❤❤❤
What a beautiful song and interpretation. Ia brazilian, lived for 4 mo tá in Dublin, where I made very good friends. My eyes always got wet, of Joy, happines because and bring me so many good memóries about EIRE. God Bless Ireland and Irish prople.
All Blessings on you Ronnie for being a true Irish patriot with a tender soul.
I'll lift a baby Power to you my friend.
OMG...! What a way to tell a story...! These guys are so amazing...!
So beautiful 😢
Ronnie was one of the greatest vocalists ever. As an American who treasures Johnnie Cash, I rate Ronnie above him. Whiskey, nicotine, and time poured over peat and gravel. That’s the one of kind beautiful voice he was blessed with.
I love them all 💖💕💔
Luke Kelly in his mind... Great job Ronnie. Did him proud!
Love it. I usually associate this song with Luke but Ronnie does it justice too!
Ronnie, nice song and nice of you to sing it. I often remember you when you played in Dubliners. Rest in peace.
That voice.
No-one can sing this song like luke kelly....but well done ronnie ...two great singers no longer with us 😢
Im from Balbriggan and had the privilege of hearing and seeing them in the Cardy Marina was great a memorie forever xx
I m from that town,now a city,best version of Phil Coulter's song ever...
I cromecast this, it blew me away. .. that is one unique one.
God rest him. True son of Ireland
It's import always to remember who we are and what makes us so unique in the world. Don't let it be diluted with this new diversity and multiculturalism. We fought for what we have. Some emergrated not all. This is a small island. Let others fight for their land.
Happy St. Patrick's Day.
Powerful it’s just umbilievable
the master at work

Just cant say a word…
The only town name in the English language which has 6 mute

genius lyrics
Haha Well put Carlos.genius statement
Wont be long . United Ireland.Ann Haslam from Ireland
Ronnie Drew Luke Kelly they had a massive share of ability and talent
I bought tickets to a Dubliners concert for me and my grandad in 2019 but quarantine kept getting it pushed back, we should have been there over a year ago so I’m listening to almost all their songs until we can finally go
Do you mean the Dublin Legends? Because the Dubliners are no more since 2012. The Dublin Legends are still great, had a good time seeing them myself.
@@RauMichael well yeh I thought that went without saying
This absolutely beats the assembly line music that is put out today. Regardless of the genre, it's hard to tell one band from another.
Most of the pop music today is gay.
Thats why we love this kind of music.
Such sharp eyes
Annie klassen the best of luck.stay strong for your family. From a derry person.
Home 😍no more to be said
Thank you
Best chips my dad ever had lecky road
Scouse Irish ❤️
Never heard a voice for music for gods country like it and I’m from Liverpool as they say Ireland’s capital
Liverpool? Ireland's capital what
@@JeffreyD94 it's well known. It's due to the amount of irish that went there back in the day. It's a well known saying. Its actually a tribute.
His eyes were absolutely mesmerising.
"You'd better stay in line Paddy or you'll face the hangman's noose!"
In the Derry air
Hate to say it but Ronnie's rich baritone voice makes me favor his version more than Luke's (one of the few exceptions...
Yesterday was his Birthday - damned... Though he wouldn't care too much himself, I guess.... ;.(
Vielleicht versuche ich mich auch mal an diesem uririschen Song auf deutsch oder bairisch. Verdient hätte er es. Nur eine Stadt wie Derry gibt es hier nicht.
Yes his eyes are penetrating - ....

Derry air.
Can you get a better voice! The only version I prefer to this is Luke's. Still cry thinking they are gone!
Paddy Reilly sings it well too. Not as well as the great Luke Kelly, but he still sings it well.
Very nice version of course, but not Luke.
Are you gay or something.
It's right up there imo, love the fiddle in this rendition.
No, it's Ronnie.
ronnie >>>>>>>> luke
i’m just tellin the truth!
Ronnie sung this very well. Luke sung it with his soul 🤔🤔🤗🤗😥😥
