I had to come back to this video for one reason: this is the best pick comparison I have seen to date. I would like to request several more pick comparisons as this was especially helpful in differentiating each pick's tone. I realize John may not be a Jazz III pick user, but I would love a comparison of various Jazz III materials and manufacturers (Dunlop and Blue Chip in particular). Thank you very much for taking the time and putting in the effort to produce this video.
By far, the very best pick comparison video available anywhere on googletube. This was very informative. Thanks guys! Now I'm going to visit your website and buy several various picks to try out.........seeing as all of the music stores in my area have such a slim variety to choose from. ( BOO!!! )
I own a ct55 and a primetone 1.4, I definitely prefer the primetone and I think bluechip is kind of over rated but I had to see what all the hype was about . People always want the expensive stuff thinking it will make them better lol
This was hysterical. And I think I’ve tried all of these picks. Someone just sent me the Golden Gate today to try. Jason and Jeremy rated them pretty much the same that I have when I use them. The casein picks ranked the highest. “Give me some q-tips…I feel bad about that one….NEXXXTTTT” lol. Love your content.
I like teardrops. Bit have been thinking about a tri cornered... Inam thinking that I can bevel and polish out a side for whatever situation I want.. like a mandolin or a guitar... or a rosewood guitar vs a mahogany... you could change the bevel to a rounder less beveled for the mandolin to take some of the bite out... Have a sharper corner for a mahogany guitar to bring up the bass a little and maybe gain a little treble on the higher and mid strings .. If it works you could have a sort of utility pick and not jabe to switch picks for every instrument.... its a thought.. of course I would do tuat experiment on the dunlop first 😉
That's funny that the CC pick rated higher than a manufactured one. Maybe, just maybe, if the CC was shaped a little bit; then, maybe a higher rating? Sometimes, that's all a player has. I've enjoyed the Dunlop, as well as it's price. Great show! Thx 🙂👍
This is exactly why I watch your videos. I guess I'll be having me a prime tone and a case in pick. A friend gave me a Kenny Smith blue chip. It's my daily driver. Lol.
Amusing little sketch. The shape, the points the thickness and the material all factor in. Used the same guitar, but is a J45 the best guitar for such a mind bending experiment? Howabout another rind with large triangle (346) , with normal, not rounded points beveled and a consistent thickness. For example : a BlueChip TAD 50 (1.25) a WEGEN (!) TF 120, a Primetone 1.3, and that D'addario Casein 1.4 (if it isn't too bent!) and maybe that I-tone thing($40 ???) Or .. maybe I'll do the same thing on my channel, Best, Ol' Andy
Those Primetone are a great bang for your buck imo.

Glad to see that you fellas believe in science.
Amazing how much difference a pick can make
Great comparison of picks!
Thanks!
I really enjoyed this!
Thanks so much!
I want a bluechip but I know ill lose it. I recently started playing primetones and have been amazed at just how much better I play and sound with it.
You could use this! www.theacousticshoppe.com/shop/c/p/Dr-Herringbone-Pikini-Pick-Holder-x66546594.htm

This was Awesome
Thanks for watching, glad you liked it!
I think you guys were just a bit generous with the signature pick. I'd put it below the primetone for sure.
GREAT LIVE V-CAST TODAY GUYS. TUNED IN. I USE A 4.0 DUNLOP FLOW, A BIG OVER SIZED AND THICK PICK. LOVE THAT GREEN PICK.
Thanks for tuning in!
Great video, and y'all are so funny in your videos

I love my Primetone! Good job!
Really cool. You should try the Taylor Thermex, a bit like D’Andrea Pro Plec.
Loved it. Kepp em coning boys. 😀
Thanks for watching Thomas!
Yes the Blue Chip picks are the best for bluegrass, I have a couple of them. Great video, enjoyed watching
thank you. Thats all I got.
Thanks for watching!

You really can't beat a Bluechip, but the Casin and Primetone are great backups!
The Golden Gate pick should have been higher on the list!
If my primetones weren't so slippery in my fingers I'd use them more but sold on my tp48 from blue chip

I detect a nose of spruce with notes of a G run...
Thanks gentlemen. That was a hoot and very scientific. 👏😋
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching
I'm surprised that you didn't include the Breadclip pick. They are free with most Sunbeam bread 🍞 products. Lol 😜 🤣
Shoulda! 😂
You haven't experienced a great pick until you used a match cover folded. Hardcore hard up
100% effective
John Pearce.
I will say if the itone was a 43 or 45, it’d probably be about perfect
Primetone hard to beat for the price. I sent my blue chip back because I couldn’t tell much difference from the primetone
Both are great options! Thanks for watching😄
Hahahaha you guys are the best
Thanks so much!
I thought you meant “Picts” and we ‘d learn about Scottish heritage! Picks, now I ‘get-it’!
Haha, thanks for watching, maybe next time we will tackle some Scottish heritage.
Would the credit card pick sound better if it was a high “interest” card?…sorry, I just had too.
😂 You just had to
What? No love for Fender mediums?
But which one goes to 11????
Now that is the real test! 😂
At first glance I thought they were wearing bra’s on their head like Weird Science for those of you born in the 70s
