    Great videos! I love them! Greece is soo Spanish! (Or the other way round) and the phonetics of both languages are so similar. Btw Dimitri, could you please make the English subtitle lettering bigger? Of course reading the English translation helps a lot. Still, for a Spaniard, some words we get instantly (fagitó, for instance). Ellada polí órea!! Besos desde España!😘

      Gracias Rubén! Yo también siento que hay tantas cosas comunes entre nuestros países. Thank you for the feedback about the subtitles.

    One question: when you say "oi papies itan edw" the subtitle reads "the ducks used to be here".
    Itan = was, right? Or does it also mean "used to"?

    • @cubicle89
      @cubicle89 5 лет назад +1

      Itan = was, were (3rd person singular and plural). It is difficult to distinguish with 'itan' if we're talking about just yesterday or about the past more generally, since eimai, to be, is strangely one of the verbs that do not have a different form for past simple/continuous and present simple/continuous. So as you can guess, it is all very context-sensitive. Here, one would have to guess what I meant. Oi papies itan edw just means 'the ducks were here once, but they're not anymore'. Since I'm talking about the past in general, translating that with 'used to' would make the most sense.

    What's the missing word at 3:51 between ενας χωρος and που? My guess would be θα λεγαμε.

    Isn't the word "τσάντες" supposed to sound like tsaDes? and not tsaNTes as it is written in the subtitles?

    • @thomassiegler9898
      @thomassiegler9898 2 года назад +1

      It's something in between, like you would have a blocked nose while pronouncing TSANDES. the diphtong "ΝΤ,ντ" produces ND with a blocked nose, or D when at the beginning of a word.
