To calculate concrete quantity using AutoCAD, you will need to create a drawing with the dimensions of the area to be filled with concrete. Here are the steps to calculate concrete quantity using AutoCAD:
    1. Open AutoCAD and create a new drawing. Draw the outline of the area to be filled with concrete using the Line or Polyline command.
    2. Measure the Area of polyline by using any of the methods below
    a. List command (Li Enter)
    b. Area command (aa Enter)
    c. From properties window.
    3. Multiply the Area and height (or thickness) together to calculate the volume of the area in cubic meters.
    4. Apply any necessary waste factors, as discussed in the previous answer, to the calculated volume.
    5. Finally, use the calculated concrete quantity to estimate the amount of concrete needed for the project and to plan the necessary materials and resources.
To calculate the quantity of concrete required for a slab, follow these steps:
Determine the dimensions of the slab in meters: length, width, and thickness.
Calculate the volume of the slab in cubic meters by multiplying the length, width, and thickness.
Add 5% to the volume to account for wastage and ensure you have enough concrete.
Calculate the weight of the concrete required by multiplying the volume by the density of concrete, which is usually around 2400 kg/m³.
Convert the weight to the number of bags of cement needed, assuming each bag weighs 50 kg.
Calculate the quantity of sand and aggregates (coarse and fine) needed by using the mix ratio of concrete. For example, a common mix ratio is 1:2:4 (cement: sand: aggregates). This means that for every bag of cement, you'll need 2 parts sand and 4 parts aggregates.
The IS code for concrete quantity measurement is IS 4926:2003. The mode of measurement for concrete quantity can be done using two methods:
Weight Method: This method involves weighing the ingredients used in making concrete, including cement, sand, aggregates, and water. The weight of each ingredient is measured separately and then combined to determine the total weight of concrete.
Volume Method: This method involves measuring the volume of each ingredient used in making concrete, including cement, sand, aggregates, and water. The volume of each ingredient is measured separately and then combined to determine the total volume of concrete.
Both methods are commonly used for measuring concrete quantity, but the weight method is more accurate as it takes into account the density of each ingredient. However, the volume method is often used for small-scale projects or when a weighbridge is not available. It's important to note that the appropriate method of measurement should be chosen based on the specific requirements of the project and as per the guidelines provided by the relevant building codes.
Add up the quantities of cement, sand, and aggregates to get the total amount of materials needed.
It's important to note that the above calculations are based on assuming a specific mix ratio and concrete density. These values may vary depending on the requirements of the project, so it's best to consult with a professional engineer or concrete supplier for accurate calculations.
