- Sally Steele catches up with "Metal Queen" Doro Pesch in Las Vegas as DORO kicks off her North American Tour at Count's Vamp'd. Doro talks about the loves of her life and why she never got married or had children. Doro also talks about beginning her career, Warlock , DIO, Lemmy Kilmister, Rob Halford and Judas Priest, her being honored at the Vegas Rocks! Magazine Music Awards (aka Hair Metal Awards) and working with Gene Simmons of KISS and much more!
I just love how in spite of how legendary and known Doro is, she's remained so down to earth, and that passion is so bloody infectious. She's always so positive and upbeat and it resonates at her live shows which I've been to many. I've met her a few times so far and each time she's so sweet, appreciative, and just a personable and lovable person. Her voice is one of a kind and I'm glad she's still kicking ass.
The two of them look like sweet girls.
Doro is so amazing. All her love and passion for the music is great. She is a pioneer!

14:40 That Grunge wave that intimidated Metallica making 'Load' and so on...shouldn't even happen. USA moves on fashion flow, that's why things work in seasons and let to die. Mainstream takes over aligning people up to follow what they want. There is a lot to learn from Europe, they never let the great music down, still the same vibe since the 80's. I always say: 'If it's good, why not continue?'
Thankful enough to see that Doro was one of a few bands that never back down and refused to change. She didn't sold herself to mainstream.
