@@philliperskine4986 soooo you’re just going to ignore all of his incredibly stupid decisions and wild paranoia (which is partly justified bc they keep killing his kids and trying to use him ESPECIALLY when he was a fresh baby emperor) throughout the whole show because of ~narrative~ reasons in the name of defending him of learning how to be wise as he grows older? yeah sure i guess all that backstabbing and murder might be realistic but it doesn’t change the fact that the show made him look just SO fucking stupid to the point where even the actor who played him got depressed and hated him. i also never understood it. because they DO show him being wise but just with the off screen official state stuff. the moment it comes to the concubines all of his supposed intelligence just flies out the window. again for narrative. and you can’t deny that. he made dumb rash decisions that cost people their lives and his paranoia got out of control. the show made him look just stupid af for what he was supposed to be.
