- Back in Forza Horizon 4, the rally cars are... bad for rallying. Now things have changed in Forza Horizon 5 and rally cars are actually good for dirt races! One example is the Peugeot 207 Super 2000 which is one of the easiest car to drive in A-Class Dirt!

Peugeot 207 Super 2000 A-Class Dirt Performance review:
A handling bias rally car for A-Class dirt and it is one of the easiest cars to drive. You can use it for cross country if you want, it works fine. Unfortunately the car prefers a grip and smooth driving style to be fast. So you need to keep drifting at a minimum. However you can slide at corner entry to act as brakes which works fine as long as you grip at corner exits for maximum exit speed.
Obviously acceleration is the weak point of this car since the 207 is all about handling. You will struggle against high acceleration cars on sprint tracks.

Edit: Title is a reference to the FH4 meta where almost non of the rally cars are good at rallying.

What I learned about forza horizon 5:
*Off-road tires are better than rally tires for dirt racing*
Because you really need to power build these 4WD dirt cars below S1 class...
This is the truth. Rally tires seem in a weird spot right now. Semi-slicks are usually the way to go for A+ road racing, but the lower PI offroad race tires perform way better offroad and still function well enough on road compared to the Rally tires. I find it's just not worth it to get the rally tires if youre going offroad at all, and its worth it to go semislicks for road only.
And that's ok. The main issue with rally tires is they provide too much road grip and too much PI. Off-road tires uses so little PI allowing room for more upgrades. Of course the road sections the tire suffers.
@@TheVerendus Rally tires are very usefull for A800 road. Semislicks cost much more PI, so with them you often end with underpowered car that is unable to effectively utilise the grip you have. Rally tires usually provide better balance. A bit funny though that rally tires are used for road only.

Really disappointed that they don't seem to have any newer cars in this. No GR Yaris, no i30N, no GR86, no new Audis, no new Mercs... and the List goes on. Would have loved to use the GR Yaris in these offroad races.
They probably finalized the car roster before they had a chance to scan a GR86. There's a good chance it and the GR Yaris would make it as additional content in the future.

been having a hard time getting to grips with dirt in horizon 5 (pun intended) and it's really great that you mention how you feel the car should be driven in the description. Gives me a better idea of what I'm doing wrong
Try using off road tires instead of rally tires, when you build your dirt car.
It works way better and uses less pi, which allows you to put more power in to the car 👍

those open wheel maserati are really good in A, cool to see other people using them. bugatti c type is better for B because of how the upgrades shake out

I'm guilty but did not believe you from the start on that race against delorean and Boneshaker, they're pulling away even on the dirt in some sections, and the finishing straight is on the road, and they're pulling even better there

I got one myself in the first hours of playing the game and it was immediately the best rally car.
I had a great battle against this car while using the Porsche 959 Rally Raid, it’s got a bit more top end than the Peugeot with similar handling and acceleration.

I've personally been enjoying the 1964 Ford GT40 MK1 as my A800 rallyer. Definitely a pleasant surprise to me since I'm a simp for the GT's
the 206 and Xsara WRC was both of my favorite rally cars when I was a a child would love to see them in FH one day...

Grönholms red 407 was lovely too in my opinion.
I made a tune of this car but with the Turbo Rally engine and its pretty good. Gives it more acceleration on launch in general

The Mitsubishi lancer GXR that ya get in the welcome pack would tear that apart its by far the best dirt race and cross country race car ive won loads of races with it 👍

I really wish they would do limitations in online races. Make it so in dirt and cc you can only pick cars labeled rally or offroad, and for road and street make it so you can only pick road cars. So tired of seeing stupid ass super/hyper cars and weird shit dominate offroad. It's fuckin dumb.
I honestly hate how PLAYGROUND GAMES uses rally cars in Forza Horizon 5. Rally Monsters like the #34 VW Beetle and #14 GRC Fiesta cannot reach their respected PI with such little engine customisation. Alongside having no other choice but using the wrong tires to reach said PI.

And tyre wise they generally come with pretty grippy tyres
Bro racing on dirt is pretty good plus u don't choose the wrong tires u actually do have a choice idk wtf ur talking or even play the same game but there is lots of customization improved from the previous titles

In response to the title, you know you're playing forza when you use a k5 jimmy for asphalt circuit racing and a zonda for rally racing
I use Subaru BRZ for A class dirt, you should try it out

Just imagine if this Forza Festival was real. So u can see a rally, supercar, suv, tuner JDM and old f1 car in one race
And people would break speed limits, ruin fields of wheat/corn for farmers and road side barriers would have to be always fixed.

Is the renault 5 any good? i made a tune for it but feels its probably only viable on small dirt circuits with no long paved roads where more powerful cars can leave it behind.
I find that the Peugeot 205 turbo is a boneshaker punisher with the right tune. Give it a go :)
it’s the leaderboard car for shorter b class dirt races. not as viable in cross country races or ones with longer straights like you’ve encountered
I've spent so much time trying to tune the Renault 5 for dirt and it just does not want to be fast. There is some potential in it, but it's definitely always a trick to drive it clean because it also wants to squirrel around no matter how you play with the suspension, roll bars, aero, etc. I'd love to see a stable tune of it though!

Question.... Why did you block out suspension, tire compound, and drivetrain in the beginning. I wanna make a better version of your build for myself because I don't download people's builds
Download it , then remove the tune all the parts used will then say owned when you go to the buy upgrades section . Or just look at the tune and that part won't be blocked in the game

As I see, you also need to discover strong car choices jn FH5 as well. This is the only part I hate a little Forza for so far. I am loosing races kinda a lot, and I was always thinking: its because of me? (Settings: the highest difficulty of bots, TRC off). Or is it because of wrong car&tune? So far, Ive come to conclusion that if I tune more for top speed instead of control, and I can handle it, it has better chance of winning than tune for control.... 🤔
I was practically always winning in FH4 with same settings, so thats why....
You have to take into a count that there has not been any new major racing games for a while so FH5 has attracted a lot of new racing game enthusiasts who might beat you even if it is their first forza game.
The AI blatantly cheats in FH5. Like, there was a _little_ rubber-banding in FH4, but in FH5 it is egregious.

Evos, Imprezas, GTRs are very strong cars.

And shockingly, rally cars are bad at rallying in FH4. The more you know. And guess what is better at rallying than a rally car? Some toy, some old muscle car and some old race car.

I tryied rallye duel (rival) in the road at the selva (in class A). I tryied the warthog and i was very happy about it. Then i tryied the bone shaker because i saw a vid about this car on road. I got a tune for rallye and try it. I destroyed my record easily. And i try it on an other races, conclusion: bonne shaker is easy to use an goes zoom

That 8CTF in Rally is equivalent to the Boneshaker in Road. It's way too good to be in A class and 99% of people who drive them are assholes when doing so.
Ken was in the 1% who wasn't an asshole. Some good driving there in the first race.
I can just see these cars being driven online by little kids who can’t help but win everything, given how overpowered they are in Dirt and Road racing respectively…

Damn, that mini in the first race had a great tune. He wasn't really driving very well at all, but always had enough speed to get back in front after poorly executed turns; the entire race.

I was literally just using this in Horizon Open the other day and thought “this car is really good, ISAD should probably make a video on this”
Well lo and behold.
This car has been good since Forza *Motorsport* 3. It handles so well. In Motorsport it uses a bit or toe out/in on the front and rear axles to make it turn on rails. Here it doesn’t necessarily need it but I still do it for old times sake. One of the best cars in the game that no one talks about
